This probably makes sense for both teams
edmonton could probably slot kapanen as the 3rd wheel on mcdavids line and it would be alright, both him and yamamoto could benefit from a change of scenery.
Yammo could play as the puck hound on any of pitts top 3 lines just as he has done in edmonton. also yammo scored 20 last yr.

oilers would probably consider that. kapanen could be a nice fit on the 3rd line with mcleod.

malone is most valuable mentoring and leading tullio, savoie, bourgault, philp, lavoie etc.

everyone on this site hates barrie which is rediculous considering he is a very good pp quarterback on a value deal compared to others whomake similar money.

Not sure how much positive value you will get for him given his 4.5 mil cap hit, if any. Anaheim sure as hell isn't paying a 2nd for a 32 year old defenseman on an expiring contract.</div></div>
4.5 mil is a value contract for a 40+ point dman who can run your powerplay. Werenski, jones, hamilton, nurse, heiskenen, etc. 4.5 is a budget deal

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>Why would Arizona trade a pick for Samorukov when they can simply grab him on waivers in a couple of days?
If Samorukov's value is zero/neutral that also means that Arizona are trading a 3rd+ for Foegele effectively. That makes no sense given that they'd be taking on a capdump... Arizona should be the ones receiving a pick here.</div></div>
i think if the oilers cant get value for samorukov they keep him on the roster and send down niemo.

the oilers need to be as close to possibe to the cap in order to maximize LTIR. i must say, trading foegele is a much nicer alternative.

even still, u dump benson or waive derek ryan in order to do it over dumping puljujarvi for a 3rd round pick that has zero chance of playing in the nhl in the time of mcd or drats current contracts.

i agree...but at the same time bear has been a 3rd pair dman and was healthy scratched a lot last year. Sometimes the best thing to do is swallow the frog and accept that u messed up

because the sabres want to get better, and the oilers want to get cap compliant? you cant tell me that foegele isnt a better player than anders bjork.
Foegele. 12 goals, 26 points,
Bjork. 5 goals, 8 points.
That would be a massive upgrade for the sabres to make on their 3rd line.
They also get lavoie who is a decent prospect who is afew yrs out from the nhl

have u not ocnsidered that over the last 2 yrs barrie played 6 mins more per night?
Barrie. 20 mins/night
Wideman. 14 mins/night
Barrie HDGF% 63%
Wideman HDGF% 39%
wideman also gets over 72% of his starts in the offensive zone.

Point producing dmen who play 18 mins a night whilst on very good contracts cost a TON to move out. Its way better to sign worse players in free agency for more money. Thats what the market says.
To compare a similar offensive dman see below.
john klingberg in last 2 yrs all situations.
13 goals
83 points
137 giveaways
33 takeaways
XGF% 56%
actual GF% 53%
Tyson barrie in the same situations.
15 goals
89 assists
86 giveaways
33 takeaways
xgf% 59.8%
actual GF% 62.95%
Klingberg just got 1 yr at 7 million dollars.
Barrie outproduced him, and was more effective defensively in all situations and didnt cough up the puck as much as klingberg ( BY A STRETCH) and makes only 4.5.
Give your head a shake if u dont think barrie would get more than that if he was on the free agent market.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AG_sweden</b></div><div>So, this is what VAN needed to become a legit cup contender. EDM crumbs is the best crumbs, so I've heard.</div></div>
vancouver needs 2 more top 4 dmen to become a contender in my pov.
Foegele is a very respectable player with great underlying numbers who got pdo'd this year but should expect his puck luck to improve signifigantly.
Providing foegele and a early 2nd round prospect who is a sniper for a ltir case and a 4th line winger seems more than fair.
