IF you want to include Drai in Mock Trades
Serious question here, why would the Oiler not deal with any team? Even if moved within the division the return on Drai would outweigh the sting of moving him to a rival. Imagine Holland not listening to offers from Vancouver when they would have to offer up someone like Hughes or EP (not happening btw just an example) you are lucky you aren't a GM with that mindset cause if you were you would be fired pretty quickly, it doesn't matter what team makes the best offer, as a GM you take it and don't say no cause you are a divisional rival. That's like saying no I won't trade my lambo for your Ferrari + Cadillac + Lexus + BMW cause you live across the street and I would have to see you drive it everyday, like give your head a shake buddy!
Also the teams you listed as not having the assets, actually do have the assets. Montreal <strong>could</strong> but probably wouldn't offer Suzuki + Caufield and that is a package the Oilers would take, you are seriously over valuing Draisaitl by a lot if you think teams like Buffalo would have to add to Dahlin + Thompson. You are too emotionally attached to be realistic IMO

If the Hawks do decide to trade Murphy, this probably gets it done. Might want a pick instead of Holmberg.

He'll just walk Tavares-style in 2025 and Edmonton gets nothing.

Hawks wound rather have 3rd round pick than Brodie. They have like 12 D prospects who are able to make the NHL and they plan to use 2-3 of them this year full time.

Bedard and More Aggressive Offseason
This team is not ready to compete yet and giving up anything - even mediocre assets - to add mediocre veterans is a way to ensure the rebuild fails.

final run
From the sounds of it, it seems like Chicago will not be giving Strome a QO and let him hit the open market. He’d be a pretty solid addition though. But other than that we could just acquire him when and if he hit Free Agency as a UFA.

There might not be an asking price. Rumor is that Chicago isn't interested in offering Strome a Qualifying Offer, which would make him a UFA.

As of right now, the hawks have about 16m in space, and that's before Kane and Toews' matching 10 million comes off the books next off-season. If Kane is still here, I could see the team trying to resign him. I'm not so sure they would pay to resign Toews.</div></div>
Well it's all moot now as most reports have the Flyers taking the 5th pick this year off the table. Not saying they won't try to do something with future firsts, but i doubt CHI would do that.

Not even close on DeBrincat, let alone with Dach included too.

Unfortunately, Chychrun is going to cost way more than that. I would also assume DeBrincat isn't going anywhere unless the 5th OA is included.

I know. And I like them both a lot as players. But when I consider what CHI's front office has said over and over that they are looking for, those two have skill but they don't have the skating, pace, or motor for what Davidson is trying to build. And looking through the NYI's roster and prospect pool I just don't see much that matches that. It's something that can maybe be developed, but when you are that far behind in a certain area like skating it's hard to see them really developing that any more than becoming an average skater at best. But then again maybe CHI would value their skillsets enough to pull the trigger and plan on getting the speed/pace/motor from other positions and hope the skill guys can keep up enough to jump in the play when the speed guys take over.

Judging from the recent reporting about offer(s) Davidson has already turned down for DeBrincat, that isn't gonna get it done.

No close enough for Debrincat, but I'd also suggest the NJD not trade for him anyway. Just continue the build.

So DeBrincat deal starts with Holtz going back the other way and work a deal out that way, and more is going to Chicago from that point on. No way Chicago even remotely regards this trade. Tatar is not getting a 2nd and 4th maybe a 3rd alone, but 2nd is pushing it way too far. I don't see Ottawa really doing that why take 2 lower round picks for a 5th round. Mine as well keep the 5th round pick. Bernier might get that or you might have to pay someone to take him.

Seems light for DeBrincat. LeBlanc is dead cap. Expensive and not easily tradeable. Offer easily beatable.

Cat to the Sens
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheBoyDuddus</b></div><div>Would much rather keep an Zaitsev dump separate. Pinto, Greig, 7th oa plus next years first looks absolutely terrible at face value.
Side note, Murphy's owed almost 11m over the next two years in real money. Even with Melnyk gone I dont think thats a contract that Dorion would prioritize.</div></div>
It's not terrible at face value when you consider Zaits being a dump and Murphy a big upgrade over Zaits. It makes a lot of sense for both teams. With that new roster, Ottawa has a very good shot at making the playoffs. Hawks just aren't going to move Cat for the kind of package offered in this AGM in my opinion keeping in mind how weak the 1st round looks this year and RHD is the one area the Hawks look okay with.
