These trades wouldn't even fly in EA NHL. In real life, any gm included in these trade proposals would hang up the phone immediately.

Kyle Davidson quickly accepts this deal, then smashes his cell phone, burns the smashed bits, before throwing the remaining ash in the Chicago River. He then moves to Bizmark, North Dakota, changing his name to Doyel Adamson, bringing the Blackhawks with him, and changing the team's name to the Bizmark WhiteEagles, simply so there is no chance that the oilers could ever, ever, renig on this deal.

Not sure why the Hawks would do a Nylander for Kane swap. The only way I could see it is if they decided they could flip Nylander for more picks/prospects than for Kane, which if Kane was willing to waive, they could probably get more picks for a 50% retained Kane than they could for Nylander.

I suspect that package would likely be beaten by other teams. The starting point for Cat is likely at least 2 firsts + additional picks and prospects. I get that you included some decent prospects in here, which could possibly offset that a bit, but you also slid Lucic in there, and he offers negative value to this deal. I understand other team's fans would likely balk at the price of cat, but that's kinda the point. The hawks have no need to move him, he has high value to the team, and any team looking to acquire him is going to have to offer a big overpay to get him.

The Hawks would decline that. There is no way they would pay to take Murray. That's an obvious salary dump, and your gonna have to pay the Hawks (or any team, to be frank) to get Murry off your roster.

22-23 test
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>Chicago is going into full rebuild mode article (will need a couple of goalies and some bad contracts to get to the cap floor)
</div>
As you mentioned, the Hawks are entering a rebuild. Why would the Blackhawks trade their best minor league prospect to gain two 2nd round draft picks? Especially considering the Hawks have developed a drafting profile that emphasizes tenacity, forechecking, doggedness, and speed, a player mold that Reichel fits. They also currently have plenty of salaries, they don't need to give up prospects to make the floor. Even if the Hawks sold off all their major cap hits (which is a big if), they can weaponize that cap space by taking advantage of teams who are above the cap and taking on a bad contract to get picks (Trading for Marazk + for future considerations is a popular one).
The article you presented to support your trade was focused on members of the Blackhawks. The other thing to note is that while yes, basically everyone in the organization is available, your gonna have to blow away the Blackhawks to get some of them (Like Dach, Debrincat, Reichel, etc.). IE, any young player on the team who can be a piece the team can build around for the future could be available, but you will need to exceed the perceived the Blackhawks place on that player in order to get them to give them up. The conversation with Dach and Reichel likely starts at a 1st + additional picks and prospects, Debrincat likely starts with 2 firsts + additional picks and prospects. You might think that's overpriced, but again, the Hawks have no need to move these players, the only way someone is getting them is to overpay on them. If they stay, they would be excellent pieces to build around for the future. There is definitely no way 2 seconds and a bunch of salary dump throw-ins is going to do it.

Toews has a NMC, so there's no list, he would have to approve any trade. That being said, if he were to waive for Boston, I would accept this if I'm the Hawks.

Blackhawks might do this, but it depends on if they plan on moving any of the other big contracts (Toews, Kane, someone else?) if they'd be willing to retain on Johnson. If they did retain, they might want a 3rd instead of the 4th.

I don't have an issue with the value for value for Hardman and Compher, but that doesn't help the Hawks in any way. You're asking that the Hawks move a young player for an older player on a higher salary while the hawks are rebuilding. As you pointed out, that's a salary dump, and the only way the Hawks do that is if a pick or prospect comes along with Compher. The Hawks aren't going to help other teams out of their salary cap issues just to be nice. They're gonna want something in return for that.

Possibly, but the rumors are we were shopping him at the deadline, and there were no takers for a return around that. Davidson has also shown that he's willing to let players walk if he doesn't get what he wants. He did the same thing with Dehan. I don't necessarily agree with that stance, but it's how Davidson has shown he's going to run his FO.

As a hawks fan, I could see the Hawks trying to deal Kubalik's rights, and if there are no takers, simply letting him walk. He's not really the type of player the Hawks are looking for, and keeping him on takes up a roster spot that could be better used on a younger player looking to develop his game more.

That's still not enough. The starting point is likely similar to the Hagel deal at the deadline, which was two firsts, a young mid 6, a young bottom 6. A Debrincat deal is likely to look more like two firsts, a top 6 prospect, + mid picks or prospects.
Barrie does nothing to help this trade. The hawks have no use for a 30yo defender, and this seems like a cap dump, which the Oilers would need to pay for. Even if you swap Bourgault for Savoie, this deal still falls short of what the Hawks are likely looking for in a deal.

Different scenario obviously but sens traded a top 5 RW in the league with an extension and got back Erik Brännström and a 2nd after a year of saying "other teams will offer something better"</div></div>
Different scenarios exactly. The Hawks also just traded a mid-6 forward at the deadline for two firsts and a bottom 6 and a mid-6. The hawks had something similar with Sharp, waiting for someone to offer something better. The difference is they needed to move on from Sharp, there is no need/want to move Debrincat other than getting a large return, if they don't get that, Debrincat is still highly valuable to the Hawks, they'll happily keep him.
IE, to get Debrincat, you'll need to present an offer that is greater than what the Hawks value Debrincat at, which is fairly high.

They don't want to move on from him. The reason he's in the rumor mill is because he's their best asset to get the picks back that were lost by Bowman. He is still young, will still be an effective goal scorer when the rebuild is likely to be over, and he's still a restricted agent. It's likely 20million will come off the books next year, so the cost isn't an issue for the hawks. The hawks are likely to be looking for at least 2 firsts (the 7th overall isn't really that big of a deal in this draft), a prospect and an NHL ready player. This offer likely dons't beat what other teams would offer. And again, if this offer was the best bid presented, it's likely the hawks would just wait till the deadline, or just sign Cat and keep him for the long term.

Devils aren't just going to give that 2nd away. I believe the rumor is they're looking for impact NHL player(s) who will help them take the next step. They have prospects, they don't necessarily need more. They need goal-scoring forwards who will make the team immediately better.

Then the Hawks won't move him. There's no need for the Hawks to trade Debrincat short of getting a boatload of picks for him, and the only way they'll trade him is if they're blown away by an offer ala Hagel.

I think you're overvaluing the 7th overall. Again, it's a weak draft. It's not worth anything more than the 10 or 11th. I also think you overvaluing Stutzle, I may have undervalued him, but there is no way a .66 ppg player who is a career -45 is worth 3 1sts. If he is, Debrincat is worth more. Yeah, Stutzle is young and developing, but at most I'd say he's worth 2 firsts. So in my eye, the 7th overall isn't worth any more than a mid-1st, definitely not worth 2. If it were the 7th in 2023 then yeah, you would be right, but not in the 2022 draft. Add in the fact you are dumping murry, which you need to pay for, and the op was asking for Vlassic (a young, high-level defensive defenseman prospect), yeah, this is an underpay by Ottawa.

Meh, I'd say remove the 3rd going back to Toronto and the trade is fine. Murphy is probably worth a late first, early second. A 5th for eating Mrázek's salary is fare as well. But I don't want to do anything resembling paying for Mrázek.

The Hawks easily pass. Stützle and the 1st isn't a bad starting point, but it's ultimately two firsts. Stützle is a good offer, but the 70a is in a weak draft class. You also asked that the Hawks take on Murray, which is a salary dump, IE the sens would have to pay the hawks to do that. Then you're asking for not just Debrincat, but also the rights to Strome and Vlassic (a very good defensive prospect). I'd say storm and Vlassic are worth, at least, a second. It'd cost at least a 3rd for me to take Murray.
