Leafs can't sign Pesce for 8yrs or would they want to. He is 30 this year and will get 5yrs or 6 max for a contract.

If JT can't handle 2nd line center to reduce his minutes on the 3rd line makes zero sense. On LW he would out produce any of the top six except Matthews and Nylander.

Leafs Cup 2025
I don't see how JT is a 3rd line center. If he isn't able to keep up as a 2nd line center he will be LW1or2, he is still going to be producing 70points or more. He isn't going to shutdown anyone and 11M isn't wasted on 3rd line minutes. JT would still out produce any LW on this team if he was playing that position.

Jarnkrok, talk about a ghost in the playoffs, 5 goals in over 90 games. He can be replaced by a league minimum guy that at least can be nasty come playoff time.

True this team is all over the place. You have a RW playing center, a rookie on his off wing, timmins as an everyday player and 3 goalies instead of a real good 4th liner that was solid in the playoffs. LOL and your laughing at my comment.

Unless the leafs have no faith in Woll this trade makes zero sense to the leafs. If Woll and Hildeby keep their progress of development they only need a 1B UFA goalie for one season.

How do you figure that? They get the better player by a mile and can go after Montour or Pesce in the UFA market. Leafs aren't trading for that brutal contract anyways.

They might make another move to make a trade for Marner. Time will tell, Marner might not even waive.

Well a college guy picked up for a 6th round pick that 30 other teams could have offered more for is an NHL d-man. Bert and Domi aren't taking those contracts at this point in their career, they did the show me last season. Can't see the leafs signing Krappo

Another team that Dewar isn't even qualified. Idk how much people watch the playoffs but Dewar is the perfect example of what a 4th liner looks like. His 2nd full season in the league he had 11goals that is better than most 4th liners in the league.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>time will tell. I think odds are he stays in Toronto but I can definitely see him waiving.</div></div>
Why would he waive with a young family from Toronto and signed here because of that reason. He isn't going to relocate for a season and than not have a contract and have to move again. JT imo is 100% not waiving. I believe with a strapped for cap space team isn't trading for a goalie they won't be able to re-sign or want to. Woll and Hildeby are great RFA's which is huge and the future for the leafs they also have some other young goalies in the pipeline with high expectations. They need a 1B for this season and Hildeby should be ready for 25-26.

Marner might want to live in Utah but l would think he would prefer a team at least closer to playoff ready. Sam Carrick better than RFA Dewar, the guy played a solid 4th line role in the playoffs. It's a lot to ask Cowan to be a 2LW, Berb will want someone that can protect the kid.

Idk if any of these mach trades from sports reports, youtubers and people on cap friendly have any real steam. I just wonder when the last time Dangle, Friedman, Dreggar, Saravalli for start's has been to Mitch's house for dinner and he has said l want to be traded here. The only guy myself would believe if he came out with a rumor is Bob McKenzie.

3rd line center-trash goalie- good looking young d-man. Does that get a top 5 RW and maybe the best 2-way winger in the league? Marner doesn't waive to that dysfunctional team.

Leafs arent building for this year
If the leafs can't trade Marner or JT maybe they can move them at the TDL. JT and Marner double retained is a cap hit around 2.75M, to a contender that is very intriguing. JT then can re-sign with the leafs the following year. He also gets a cup run and Marner also gets a cup run as well.
