Beauvillier the main return for our captain? He was literally the salary cap dump to balance cap hits. He was the 3rd most valuable asset out of 3

Big difference is hes a top line player locked in through his prime on a cost controlled contract. Thats huge for AZ, so gonna need to be at least a top prospect coming back with those picks.

Sharks definitely accept. A 1st for a one year cap dump and we only have to give up a couple mid-round picks? of course

Mayfield and 3C
Newhook is not a good guy for the 3C. Too much of a risk factor with him despite his ceiling. I think someone with a ceiling of a 3C and a floor of a 4C is what we need. Kampf, Mcleod, Bjugstad, or Haula are all better options for less than or equal to that for Newhook. Especially considering that Newhooks face-off numbers are trash.

trading our first to jackets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>First, no one is going to want to acquire Tyler Myers and his $5 million signing bonus payable on July 1, so he can't be included in this trade, but there are teams who will take him with an incentive after July 2.
Second, what is Nils Hoglander doing in this deal? Columbus will be THRILLED to move the LA pick to tenth overall. (And you DO know that if you lose your last game and Detroit and Washington win theirs, the pick becomes number 8, don't you?)
Third, this might make sense if you were getting Andrew Peeke and a very good prospect (i.e., a youngster with real potential), but both Roslovic and Boqvist are iffy (Roslovic because, as you've already pointed out, he's a rental, and Boqvist because of his injury history). Even then, this is indeed a "no-brainer" for Columbus, but a dubious action for a team that was so far out of the playoffs this season.</div></div>
I've been working on a response to this since I saw it was posted and had no comments yet. I'm glad I decided to refresh before I posted my own comment because you've helped me distill my own thoughts.
I do think there's a kernel of a good deal here. Take out Roslovic and Myers for sure; neither have any value to the other team. Swap Boqvist to Peeke. Rebalance from there with lesser prospects or picks. But a core of 10oa for the LAK pick and Peeke seems like a good starting spot.

Zadina
So I'm a Wings fan. I'm assuming he asked for a trade. Zadina got passed over the depth chart and has to go through waivers. He's gonna be a healthy scratch.
Zacha, Puljujarvi, Kravtsov, and Jost are who I'm comparing him to.
Myers helps GR since, they're not playing great. Finley could be part of a new redwood line in the future.

If VAN really want Morrow
Good lord there are some brutal takes here. Not sure Caniac watches hockey unless the canes play.
Aho and Pettersson are actually very comparable players, similar skill sets, frames and career statistics - both 200ft centremen who control play and make their line-mates better.

If VAN really want Morrow
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Let's not act like we're talking about Aho here. Something Aho has which EP doesn't is Aho may be the most complete centerman in the NHL. Analytically, it's him and Hischier. So, let's focus on EP here. He's currently having his only PPG season of his career. Aho's had 5 at this point. Let's not act like EP and Aho are the same here.
EP is arbitration eligible. He's got a fairly expensive QO. He's never proven he can sustain this level of scoring. EP is having his first-ever season scoring at this rate. So, let's not try and argue like he's been a 90 point player his entire career. Good years raise his value, they add homes in Vancouver to his price (get it, because... bad joke)</div></div>
So you count seasons where Aho had 66 in 68 and this year when he currently has 62 in 65 as PPG seasons, but not seasons where EP had 66 in 68 or 66 in 71? EP also has a better career PPG, and this season is far better offensively than any of Aho’s seasons

Thread:
If VAN really want Morrow
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Let's use your logic that 1 season makes EP a 90+ point player. Necas is now a 60+ point player and he hit the highest top speed of any skater in hockey last year, meaning he's also faster. Necas' game breaking speed has value, and you can't say he's a winger because he can play both positions. Jarvis put up 40 points last year, so between them that's 100 points and they're producing more than EP for half the cap hit. Jarvis can also play both positions. Both are signed through next year where EP is on an expiring deal. If you think that kind of return is in line for a player like EP, you don't have a brain as opposed to having a potato. That's an AWFUL take.
Oh and trying yo use selke votes to justify EP being more compelete? Aho's been a top 10 selke candidate for years now. Get real. He's got a better xGA, he's got a better CA, and he's got better underlyings across the board. He won't win anything because Carolina is a Southern market and it is notoriously difficult for players in southern markets to win trophies. If it wasn't, Barkov would win the Selke annually.</div></div>
having 1 100 points players is mikes better than having 2 players that scores 100 together. everyone one knows that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>Interesting conversation going on here. Looks like 1 side is using this year's stats as a base case for a career and the other is using team stats because the Canes are just a much better team. I'm no fan of EP, but that's mostly because EVERYONE keeps saying he's SOOO good. I feel like last night's game against the Hawks is his career so far. A lot of hype...he got two goals last night and was terrible. He was invisible! I don't know if I've seen a game like that before. 2 goals in a 4-2 win...looked invisible and was a minus 1. You can't get that stat line even if you try. VAN should trade him away in the off season. They're not getting better before they get worse. They've got a terrible farm system and too many albatross contracts.</div></div>
seems like 1 side is using 1 game as a sample!

In fairness here, everyone overrates their own prospects, which is nice and all, but prospects are for peasants...not contending teams.

The fan base didn't sign this guy. Most of us wanted him traded and to move this team into a rebuild. Most of us wanted that money to keep Horvat not JT. As for last year he was worth a lot since he was over a ppg player making only 5.5 million dollars. Any player with that type of production is worth a ton and the Canucks should have sold high. Not sure what your talking about?
