Trouba be gone
He might be overpaid some, but he's not a major liability either. Rangers don't have a great defense to begin with. I would plan on Schneider replacing him full time that smoothly.

what if we got Marner instead
That is a competitive offer and Marner would likely have at least seriously considered waiving for LAK.

A Mutually Worked-Out Marner to CBJ Trade - TOR
Explain to me why Marner would go to CBJ. Even if he wants out of TOR, that is not a team I expect him to be willing to waive for unless their extension offer is the best.

I think Sullivan is one of the best coaches in the league. That doesn't mean I think he should coach Pittsburgh non-stop without any consequences for failure. Most of the best fits for coaching, involve matching the team with the right coach and system. Rod might be the best coach in the league. That doesn't mean he's the best coach for this team.

Down 3-0 is getting humiliated yet again. Nobody cares how close the games are. Brindamour teams are uniquely qualified at getting blown out in a series. Winning one or fewer games in elimination must be his specialty.

If they don't make this a competitive series and at least win two games, Brindamour needs to be gone. Way too undisciplined to not fault the coach.

I'm a PIT fan. So I'm not completely ignorant. Ignoring the fact that enforcers protect nothing anyway, Bunting is not an enforcer.

I would want him to at least get to a game seven in this series to consider extending him. Team is getting very stale. It really is like deja vu with them.

Look at avs. 3 consecutive 2nd rd exited before finally winning. I think rod should get one more shot. But I think thus offseason there gonna retool the roster.</div></div>

It's almost impossible to get to the inside on us, all year long, steadily. NYR are usually winning and tend to retract and let teams play on the outside. Will certainly be a tough out for any team!</div></div>
That is always how they play. Tons of shot volume especially from the point. Low skill high effort grind. Like how Brindamour played the game. Win every puck battle and lose every skill game.

Saving Crosby
Lindholm already lost tens of millions from not signing his contract offer last year in Calgary. He's not taking another gamble on himself. Another bad season like this year again and he might never get a multi-year offer.

Certainly not Rods fault. Lack of fire power, depth and a couple of undisciplined players.</div></div>
My mistake was watching the game on mute. Point being, Shesterkin steals goals that CAR never gets a save on. And special teams has been atrocious for CAR. I'd buy Rod the Bod a Burger King crown and write "Regular Season Bench Press Champ" on it and tell him to get lost. It's stale at this point.

It's not luck. Rangers have vastly superior goaltending and special teams. Yes, Carolina controls play at ES, but that alone does not make for a contender.

Where do you go now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>If they adequately replace Pesce and Skjei, then they will be more or less the same team that they were before the trade deadline, so there isn't going to be a big regression at least not because of personnel. They will also have the opportunity to add someone else instead of Guentzel if he walks. I don't think he's automatically just going to decide that he doesn't want to re-sign if they get swept. Where will he go? Back to Pittsburgh? Maybe, since he didn't want to leave but he's been a good fit in Carolina and Pittsburgh hasn't been to the second round since 2017-18. He's probably not the biggest fan of Dubas either.
No reason to bury Kochetkov and replace him with Wedgewood. Also, making a whole lot of moves is probably not what's going to get results. If they want Marner, then they should be making a hockey trade. Spending assets to dump Kotkaniemi would be silly, if they don't want him then they should try dumping him in the trade for Marner. They could maybe target Lindgren from the Rangers or Theodore from Vegas, or Chychrun from OTT to replace Skjei. Sign Matt Roy to replace Pesce.</div></div>
They need to make drastic moves. Id let Brindamour go if they lose this series. This script is line deja Vu with them. Heavily outshoot opponent and fail to finish.

Bunting isn't an enforcer. He's not gonna protect anyone.
