Solidification
Personally I love it. Zucker and Granlund had their best seasons playing together and the Pens can afford him as a rental. I don't think they would even have to give up a prospect depending on Nashville's position. They are only 2 games out of the WC with quite a few games in hand, so I can see them sticking with Granlund, but boy would it be sweet to have crosby center him and Zucker

Next Year
I feel like that Domi deal & contract is pretty solid, nice work. Since it's for his rights, idk if that is too much to give up but if I were Philly I would still do that for Domi. Makes sense for both teams if MON is looking to move on.
I don't know what to think of the SJS trade. I am sure SJS would be happy to get out of Burns contract even if he is still a great NHL player, but taking back JVR & Voracek is a lot for a team that might look to unload and get younger. There is no doubt that Philly would be able to find teams that would be interested in taking Voracek or JVR, but I don't know if that would be SJS at this point

I'm seeing a ton of speculation with the recent cole bardreau assignment, would Isles have to wait until he clears/gets claimed before a trade could get approved? I am confused why you said "tomorrow" but assume it has something to do with my question

Flyers playoff push Trade toronto
A trade that makes sense for both sides. Don't think it's the right time for the Leafs, though. They are in need of some fluidity on backend and Ghost's injury has been a rollercoaster. If the Leafs cannot resign Muzzin this summer (i think they will) then this trade makes great sense.
I also don't think y'all should trade Ghost honestly. His value is probably as low as it would get right now, so it might be a good move to hold on to him and work on getting his game to turn around. He was an ace on the PP his rookie year, but is kinda blocked by Provorov at this point.

Final Roster Moves to Win Lord Stanley
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Sorry not a cup team, Schultz isn't returning no 1st round pick period. Caps are still better and win Lord Stanley.</div></div>
Still think TBL & Boston are the most likely, but Caps are definitely a threat even if they don't upgrade defense. I think whoever wins the East this year will be cup winners (not really a scorching take)
I don't really see a need to trade Bjugstad or Schultz right now. Bjugstad gives more flexibility with the forwards and trading Schultz leaves the D even more wounded.

No way I would do a first plus hallander without retention on Zucker, which I know the wild would not do. I don't think GMJR is worried about the cap hit, I think the reason Zucker hasn't gone anywhere(penguins or elsewhere) is cause the wild are still somewhat in the race, if they fall out he might get moved but if they stay in it he might not get traded at all.</div></div>
good point - i have been completely sleeping on Minnesota this year and only watching their games not the standings. they really aren't far out at all! At 25-22-6 and only 4 pts out of the WC, the west is just not great right now :flushed I guess we get to wait and see, less than 3 weeks til TDL now. It just almost seems inevitable up to this point lmaoo

I am not so sure it would be utter robbery, don't forget Zucker is under contract at a comfortable cap hit. If he can get/stay healthy, he is well worth Hallander and our 1st. Not so sure Minnesota would pick Hallander out of the bunch, though. Guerin knows our prospects as good as anyone and is probably asking for Addison which is why the deal has never come to fruition. GMJR doesn't strike me as a guy would nix a deal over worrying about next years cap, so I am assuming Billy G is just asking for our prospects which is a bit too rich right now.

When Patrick Comes back
Saw he was skating with the team today! Big step for him and for the Flyers nearing TDL. I can't imagine the process of these injuries. It is truly such an intangible that nobody can really tell except the player, and even they struggle with that sometimes.
Team wise, that's a big help to get a center back in the lineup without trading for one. Haven't seen Giroux play with Hayes much, but I am sure that's a tough second line to top

They will get a return on him, even if it's a small one.
I like Domi as a player, he's not what they need though.
When games start to get rough he'll do something stupid. And his doing something stupid isn't worth it because he's like 5'10.
If you are going to bring in a top 6 winger with a temper at least find one that is 6'5 or something.</div></div>
I was thinking that about JJ, I truly think there are teams that would take a flyer on him but I also know this site and everything is blown out of proportion so I basically made all my deals to be a bit high.
And honestly when I dumped JJ & Bjugstad I looked at the team and could only think how physically shallow the team looked. I'd like to pretend Sullivan could iron out some of the nonsense out of his game, but not always the case.

I actually don't see many cases where MTL is even willing to trade him, I kinda shot high on all trades (maybe exclud. Galchenyuk) just to have bases covered if we did end up getting rid of Johnson/Bjugstad. I wouldn't think prices get much higher than these, and if so then you're absolutely right that it wouldn't be worth it for the Pens.
Domi to the Pens was in my dream last night and now I am all in on it.

Going the Rental Route
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>no team is giving up a 1st for depth pieces.
They have already put 11 million into LD. They paid out MP 4 million this season to be the 2LD behind Dumo. Why would they go out and pay a 1st for a guy who has no place there or be a 3LD when they need to find a top 6 RW.
They aren't wasting their time with this. And sure as hell not at that cost.</div></div>
those are good points and is likely the correct way of going about TDL. I would personally like a depth D in case we lose two down the stretch so we don't have to rely on a JJ-Ruhwedel pairing but spending a 1st for a 3LD is something to avoid so I agree with you. You good to roll with our D for the rest of the season? They have proved they can hold it down just think this year is a good chance for them and want to make sure we have bandaids in case the inevitable injury(s) happens

Maybe, hope they both can turn it around. Just dependent on if Nashville is open to a change-of-scenery trade and willing to move up in the draft as a partial motivator. I think it would be smart to hold him and hope he turns into their own rental, but sometimes these GMs are antsy.
