I used the calculator on here to get the number real close to the $10148132 line as I could to make it work.

I really don't see how its a royal joke.
Ryan Ellis - 8 years $6.25 million
Matt Dumba 5 years $6 million
How can Trouba really say i want 7.5 million when both those guy are as good if not better than him.

Realistic off-season (with Tavares)
I like the thought of getting Tavares but I think I would rather them resign Stastny. Even if he signed a 7 million deal you could afford to keep Myers this upcoming year and then let him walk at the end of the year. Plus you would have 4 million more to go towards the Laine Wheeler Connor contracts next year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Why do fans think they are entitled to sign their own UFAs? Stastny was trade as rental, kinda obvious Jets can't afford to resign him. With this team you're still carrying Performance Bonus cap into next year, which probably isn't wise. Mason, better hope a team has a long term injury so you can trade him otherwise his 4m cap status a Jet.</div></div>
Entitled? Wouldn't you want them to resign him giving what Laine Ehlers and he said about how well the worked together. I believe the numbers also show for themselves.

I would easily add Trouba, a first and a A type prospect (Roslovic) t o get him.
That would put the Jets over the top!</div></div>
that makes sense but the only way the Jets trade Trouba is if he wont re sign and i cant see him resigning with the Sens if he wont with the Jets. So in saying that i would think the Sens wouldn't trade for him.

Winnipeg...the most dangerous team in the league
I love the idea of Tavares coming to the Jets. I think Perreault should be moved so you can keep that right side together and then possibly let Myers walk and be replaced with Poolman after 18-19. Then you have both those contracts off the books when you need to give Laine and Wheeler new contracts.

Trouba for McKinnon then WPG VAN
I would rather them expose Perreault and have him selected to get rid of his 4.125 cap hit, even if you had to give vegas something to take him. There is going to be a lot of cap space need in the next 2 years.....Ehlers, Morrisey, and Laine. As well as down the road if Connor and Roslovic pan out.
I do like the idea of Mackinnon for Trouba although I don't think it will happen

I would like to get Bishop but i feel like someone will give him a long term deal and he wont consider a 1 or 2 even 2 year at high aav. Miller is nearing the end of his career and can still stop the puck and will be more willing to do a 1 or 2 year

I agree don't have to sign Thorburn or postma. I also think Connor will make the team next year. Maybe even roslovic depends how camp goes. So there would need to be a spot or 2 opened for them

VAST improvements all around
I agree that they do not need Zajac. I do like them getting Schneider tho, he would be a big upgrade and then they still have Comrie coming up who some say is better than Hellebuyck. I also think Ehlers will want more than 6 million per year, if you looked at points alone Scheifele went 34, 49, 61 in his first 3 years. Ehlers is 38 and 61 so far this year. If he keeps producing i could see him wanting 7 or 7.5 a year. Scheifele at 6.125 is such a bargain for what he is becoming.

I agree that Alzner will get more money and I think he would be a guy that they should get. I just don't know if he will come to winnipeg or if they will want to spend the money knowing they will have to spend alot on these young guys coming up (Trouba if he stays, Ehlers, Morrissey)

Playoffs Next Year?
Stanley should play next year. Your options other than him are stuart or chiarot? I'd like to see him over those two. He can't be any worse. And if he is to be one of the future d men then he needs to be with the team next year and grow with them. Also I really hope Connor and roslovic make it next year and have an impact. Could go a long way for them making playoffs.

Tough spot but you gotta be buyers
I hope Jets are sellers and not buyers. If the 3 teams in front of them for the wildcard (preds, flames, kings) all play 500 hockey the rest of the way the Jets need to get to 90 points to be ahead of them all for a spot. Meaning they would need to go 14-5 in last 19 games. I don't think that happens

You can trade with vegas so they don't pick a certain player. They just can't trade hutch and expose him.

You can't find a better goalie for 5.75m than Fleury. And you would lose Hellebuyck, who probably is a better goalie than Fleury anyway.</i></div></div>
Lottery protected but get a first in 18 if Jets miss playoffs.
Maybe roslovic would be the better prospect to give.

Landy
As a Jets fan I would love to see them get landeskog. I don't think the avalanche would want Myers with his injuries and getting a bit older now. I think they would want Trouba more but if he actually wants to stay now and with the way he has been playing I hope they don't trade him. The stone trade I would only make if they go on a bit of a win streak and have a chance at playoffs otherwise I don't think it's worth giving up the 2nd rounder

I wonder if half the reason Hellebuyck has struggled is the defense in front of him. Trouba holding out...Myers on IR...enstrom had the family thing....Postma is just terrible. Maybe wait to the get fully healthy and see where they go. Could be a good deadline deal if they are in a playoff spot.
