Crouse to DET

I think Schmaltz could fit well with Detriot, I'm pretty sure he and Larkin played for USA together

Seems quite underwhelming for the Sabers. Not even one 1st or 1st level prospect

Totally agree. I was just playing into a scenario where it suits up against the Avs tonight lol

It would take 24 hours to clear waivers. If the Flyers traded him to the Wings however he might just wake up from the pregame nap and find his gear in the away room.

Deadline
Gudas would be a nice add to the Wings but he signed a full NMC knowing he wasn't going to the playoffs so I don't think he has any interest in moving. Either way not enough for the Ducks consider moving him.
Idk why people love to hate on Fabbri, he gets injured but he is a good 3rd line scorer who plays aggressively for being under 6', can fill in at C. Can make the overpay argument but per this trade $3Mx2 is fair value.
Seems like a fair offer for Crouse, I think Arizona wants prospects over picks but they do seem to love picks so who knows.

Arizona wins, Dellandrea seems like a legit NHLer and with more ice time could put up big numbers a few years from now.

Thoughts Sabers Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>masterjuddi</b></div><div>hey Sabers fans, what would it cost for the jets to get Greenway? Ive always liked that guy</div></div>
He was traded for a late 2nd and 5th, from NY and next year his M-NTC kicks in so the trade has to be this deadline or at the draft. I would image they want a similar return or replace the 2nd with a prospect. Sabers would obviously love Barlow, Lambert, or Lucius but I would guess they are not for sale. Chibrikov seems like a player they already have in Ostlund and Rosen. Maybe Kupari and a 3rd??

red wings deadline
They already have 7 NHL quality D and 13 NHL quality Forwards. They don't need depth and if they add those guys they lose someone to waivers. Duhaime is a good player to target but I don't see a fit on this roster.

Wings Offseason
They really missed out on a guy like Killorn last off season, maybe a trade for Crouse in Arizona. Someone who can play top 6 and be physical. I'd say Bertuzzi but I think that is over. D wise if they let Ghost walk they will have 6 D and Edvinsson to compete for ice team, I feel like that is perfect. If they bring Ghost back just trade Holl or Maatta, whatever can be moved. This is a good team they just need to keep course and let their prospects challenge for roster spots going forward.
I think someone will pay sprong $4M with term so I think he is gone, Perron to a 1-2 year deal would be good, hopefully Kane stays in Detroit but he's probably looking at $5M

DNVR Roast My Roster
I like the move to add Ned, Next 2 firsts and Olausson seems like a lot for a playoff run that they might not even have Landeskog for. What about a guy like Bjugstad as 4C (might cost less) and try to move Johansen in the off season for less? I think they could make that work and still be just barely under the cap.

Yea Meyers would be a good Sabers fit I think, I know JLF hasn't played a lot this year so was just trying to think of a prospect that is a bit away from the NHL.

Thoughts?? Trying to think of a win win win moving Johansen.
BUF Moves expiring vets and gets a promising RFA RD and only $2M next year
COL Moving $4M now and next year in R Johansen only moving 2x 3rds seems like a win if COL needs cap space to make a move for 2C and they keep their 1st.
VGK doesn't want to move Korczak but they might value R Johansen at 2M next year with Stephenson likely walking to a big payday. They also have the cap space to add and maybe Okposo fills a similar player type to Stone until the playoffs start (not arguing he is a replacement) but can be valuable as a bottom 6 playoff style winger.

Trade Deadline
Buchnevich might get you the return you are hoping for especially if he's retained for next year too but DET has cap flexibility so that is not as big of an asset to them as someone like EDM or VGK. I just don't think the wings are a partner for him unless someone is coming off their roster like Fabbri. ASP, Kasper, Danielson, Edvinsson all not for sale. I think Yzerman likes his group and the roster is full too so it has to be addition by subtraction.

The thought here is that Drysdale just got injured and not sure how long it will be but there is a good chance he is out for the season and if that is the case they would want someone for the last 15 games or so. Might even be a future consideration territory for the trade.

Trade Maatta for D Upgrade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>I'd consider that for Columbus, but I don't know that it helps significantly. Provorov is likely the Mateychuk placeholder, so it makes sense to keep him until Mateychuk proves he's NHL ready. If he is, then a Provorov flip for another LD that can play 2nd or 3rd pair for a stretch makes some sense, especially if he plays a different role. I just don't know that we'll know until after preseason next year.
We'd also likely flip Maatta at TDL 2025, in which case it makes more sense to keep Provorov (who we may be able to flip for a 1st) than swapping him for Maatta (which would be a middle-man trade for like a 2nd and 3rd in total?). Adding an extra step for the same function for a lower overall return doesn't make a ton of sense.
I don't mind this, I just don't think it accomplishes our goals well enough to pull the trigger.</div></div>
What do the Jackets want most in return? young guys who can play in the NHL like Berggren or Veleno, late 20's vet NHLers under contract, or draft picks??

I think Johansson or Edvinsson are both future NHLers but I do agree with their plan to keep those guys in GR this year so they play 20 min a night and can play AHL playoff hockey hopefully, then next year, one of those guys moves up to the NHL and Holl or Maatta are prob the 7th D
