Picks upgrade/combine to a 2nd.

With Reilly/Sandin and maybe a Muzzin resign, I think Dermott is expendable

Leafs may need to add a B+ prospect. I have a hard time believing Petry would/should get more than Muzzin considering his pedigree with team Canada/Cups etc.

Savard is a 29 year old #4 defenceman. He has no upside, and is a good but not great player. He's not some top pair stalwart that is going to shut everyone down. Liljegren is going to be a cheap and good defenceman for TO and has loads of potential as well. He's got a much higher ceiling than Savard and will cost his ELC contract only. Agreed Lilj is alot to give up. I would like what Anderson could bring to the lineup. Honestly not sure how good Savard is, but strikes me as a defensive type that would play well with Reilly (desperately needed).

Other targets for Kap trade: Adam Larsson, Mason, Severson?

replaced with Reilly which upgrades the PP.
They think Lilj can be a top 4D and replace Manson in upcoming years for longer and cheaper.
the add Johnsson who can slot in the top 2 lines for the next 4 years and a prospect in Bracco.

It only works if they are looking to retool for the future imo

Totally agree, wanted to see how it would look based on Freidman's rumour.
Would be very hard to fit Pietro at 8+mil the following season and age is definitely concern.
But if your swinging for the fences in the next 2-3 years, it could make sense.
