Thread: Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Poehling</b></div><div>Yeah agree Eichel is worth more than Caufield but since Eichel has a bad injury Caufield vs Eichel is kinda close (MTL add a 1st and maybe a decent prospect but not more)</div></div>

I don't see Eichel getting a guy like Cole plus a 1st with his injury unless it is conditional but that was not the argument. It was Eichel for Caufield + Hillis + Tuch + 1st (unconditional) and Shiball was arguing it wasn't enough which is BS with the injury/surgery situation. Also for those saying a deal can't be done without including Caufield or Suzuki, give your head a shake! We COULD offer 4 1sts (all conditional on PPG tiered) and some nice prospects or roster players to make cap work but no GM in their right mind would offer more than 2 1st + roster player + prospect for him. If you want to continue to be delusional and think he is getting 4 unprotected 1sts+ go right ahead you do you. It does not change the fact that his value is somewhere around 2 1sts + prospect + cap offset. He has a serious injury requiring serious surgery that could POTENTIALLY end his career. That is not a scare tactic it is a fact. Otherwise he would already have been traded. Buffalo is going to have to mitigate the risks and asking for Suzuki or Caufield is not mitigating the risk at all. Montreal would do 2 1sts in 23 and 24 (both conditional on Eichel's ppg totals based on previous season)(1+ ppg unconditional, .75-.99 ppg top 10 protected, .50-.75 ppg top 15 protected, &gt;.50 ppg 2nd round pick) + Tuch + 2 of Armia, Byron or Lehkonen or one of Drouin, Anderson or Toffoli
