(NYR/DAL) - Zuccarello for draft picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>How do people think the Stars won this trade? There is a possibility they could be giving up 2 1st round picks.</div></div>
Because a 2nd and 3rd are within the realm of reasonable for a top 6 rental and they got the better player in the deal.
Nobody thinks Dallas will make it far enough for NYR to get one of the 1sts. I'm not even convinced Dallas does, but this shows their players and fanbase they are making an effort. (Basically ownership taking responsibility after making some irresponsible comments this season.)
Whether Dallas re-signs him is completely their choice. Whether the trade would then be still worth it, depends on how well Zucc performs in Dallas.
If he performs poorly and they don't re-sign him, it changes nothing. If he performs well and they re-sign him, then the value to NYR and the value to Dallas both increase by a similar amount, so at worst it could become a "fair" trade.
Dallas has all the control and an NHL player, while NYR is crossing their fingers that they get better picks and that those picks eventually turn into NHL players.

Not sure why. Dallas is 20-4-0 this season when they score 3 or more goals in a game. Meaning literally the only reason they lose is when they don't score enough goals. This would fix that

Doubt it. Robertson is easily our best prospect (A ranked prospect) and they get the 2nd as well. Don’t think we really need Jensen. I think Robertson and a 2nd for Nyquist is fair

Idk man. They have the 2nd ranked GAA already in the league and they have some of if not the best goaltending in the league right now. This offense would light up teams night in and night out and they’d be a true threat

Only captains they haven't traded are Fisher (retired), Greg Johnson (retired), and Josi (trade pending)

It's called rebuilding. A 1st round pick + two very good prospects for a 29 YO defensemen with 2 years left. It's a good trade for LA

Wow Auston Matthews got an offer sheet
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>And exactly why does someone need to stick it to Kyle Dubas?
I like an agm when someone is just trying to better their team with a smart off sheet but this revenge ( for absolutky no reason) is just dumb. I guess maybe it’s a compliment to the strength of our team that you are so jealous but I seriously don’t get it.</div></div>
This is a smart AGM. Someone should absolutely offer sheet AM. It’s possible an OS this size could put TOR over not just the cap, but the offseason 10% overage. So TOR could literally not match. That smart and well though out enough for ya?

Cally is definitely gone after 2019-20, but Johnson and Palat both have full-NTC's until 2021-22. I agree that those 5 might make appearances, but going off what we absolutely know right now, Volkov is the only one eligible for a full roster spot. Then again, guys like Point and Joseph showed up for training camp and made the team, so who knows for sure.
