Thread:
Threepeat maybe
This thread got heated unexpectedly. I mean, yeah, Klingberg would be an improvement over a couple of d-men, but the Lightning already have 3 d-men who can run a powerplay so I don't know what role he would fill for the assets given up. Savard was brought in last year because he blocked shots. It's the defensive role that Foote isn't fulfilling, he's not needed for scoring. (NOTE: I'm not saying JK isn't good defensively, just that it wouldn't be worth it to pay someone like him if your need is a defensive defenseman)

Simplified Connor
I realize this is all for fun, but I'm sure you know this is ridiculous. It relies on 0 injuries and the Lightning allowing less than 8 goals per game when Bogo and Cole defend in front of Alnefelt. I'm with you on bending reality to see McDavid play with Kuch, but there's just no way.

Thread:
A Lateral Future Benefit for Both
Cirelli is fantastic but Stamkos and Point are both natural top 6 centers. The Isles could use a guy like Cirelli for the 2nd line and PK, but he has a higher value than Beauvillier (hence the pick trade in 2023 because 2022 is too valuable to NYI). Foote will develop to be better than Mayfield but the Lightning want results NOW, in their window, so an experienced 2nd/3rd pairing d-man could help with that (also part of the pick trade). It makes sense to me. ALSO both Beauvillier and Cirelli are playoff performers, so there's no loss there on either side.

Thread:
Another Stupid McDavid Trade
It's not really destroying the core. The core two years ago was much different if you extend it to players like Cirelli. My only core players are Vasy, McDonagh, Hedman, Point, Kuch and Stammer. I was thinking about the future where it's likely we lose Cirelli and Palat for nothing and possibly see Sergachev buried in the bottom pairing until we overpay him as Mac retires. I don't dislike Cirelli and Serg, I just think their talents could be better used elsewhere. As far as "Why McDavid?" It's a farce. This was for fun. He absolutely would add to the team since he's the best player in years, but, no, he's not needed. If anything a strong RD should be in the works.

Agreed. I think it's possible they leave McDonagh open if they haven't already made a deal with Seattle.

Overall we dont need Landeskog at all ..</div></div>
No ****. Look at the name of this team. It was a way to get the vets who haven't won a cup onto one team.

The point of this roster was to get vets on the team who have yet to win a cup. McD had to go to make that happen. This wasn't a serious proposal. Also McD wasn't traded, he was taken by Seattle.

Ignore the pick positions and teams traded to, they're placeholders.

Cap Compliant
He can have about $200k more with this roster's cap, and I'm not entirely sure he wouldn't stay for that. With so many teams dumping cap, the offers won't be exorbitantly higher and he would get to stay put on a cup team with low taxes.
