Essentially if you're the Blackhawks you are deciding on who you thinks ceiling is higher. Raddysh is probably the better player at the moment but at 24 years old probably doesn't have a significantly higher ceiling than his current output because he's already entered the prime of his career. Robertson at 20 years old may have a higher ceiling as he is still years away from entering his prime. 4 years younger than Raddysh. The question would be, where do the Blackhawks see themselves in 4 years? Do they want a 28 year old Raddysh (by then most likely on the decline) or a 24 Robertson entering his prime?

Funny, you didnt actually go back and refute anything... just more nebulous incorrect assertions about OTT
Keep reaching buddy</div></div>
Dude like I don't know what you want me to say. You cheer for one the replaceable teams in the NHL. If the Sens were relocated tomorrow it wouldnt make one difference to the league. Sens fans are utterly obsessed with every little thing the Leafs do and I'm not sure why. Like I've said a few times I'm not even a Leafs fan but the fact of the matter is the Leafs are the most important franchise to the sport of hockey. Their league revolves around them. Leaf fans love them and the other 31 teams fans hate them. Like I honestly don't even think the Sens are that big of a rival in Leaf fans eyes.

If anything but a cup is a failure, then almost every single team is a failure every single season, and that makes being a "failure" meaningless. No, the leafs are a failure. In the past 15 years, OTT has numerous conference finals and a SC finals and completed a rebuild. Thats not "success", but its not failure.
Youve failed because youre incorrect. This isnt a good trade. Ive already explained why.
Feel free to respond to and refute my previous comment.</div></div>
If you're going to compare me to Shapiro a professional at his craft at a professional level than i'll take that. He is one of the best executives in the game at identifying young talent and probably one of the smartest to talk in circles and not give the media anything. I.e. Lamiorello; does the same thing with the media in hockey. But you're probably not used to it with blabber mouth Melnyk going off everyday about random pointless things. It's like we understand Melnyk, you barely have enough money to keep your team in Ottawa and you cry when other fan bases run yours out of your own building. He should be happy their putting some money in his pocket book. Maybe that will help them move their arena out of a corn field.

23, but in all honesty both Sens and Leafs organizations have failed our entire lives. If you do not win the Cup your season was a failure. I do not even have to know how old you are to know that every season you have ever watched has been a failure for the Sens. But explain to me how I'm failing. I want insights, descriptions, examples, facts, etc. on how I am failing. I will wait...
By the way, I'm not even a Leafs fan. If you have read this entire thread you would know that. I just find their ACGM much more fun to play around on then other teams becasue of the uniqueness of them having 3 10+ million dollar contracts.

Exactly, this gets back to what I talked about earlier. The intrinsic value of players. Leafs have a bunch of Mikheyev “types” why not add something different? Especially if they bring a different element and produce more than what you’re giving up.

There is 100 players like Mikheyev out there. Not arguing with your point but you can find another guy like him in a split second if you want. Cheaper one too.

Ilya Mikheyev doesnt play top 6 on OTT and OTT has a glut of bottom 6 depth
Ottawa has some nice pieces but a "glut" of depth is a bit of a stretch lol. If you think they have any chance of being better than Tampa, Boston, Florida, Montreal, Toronto your'e delusional. You'll finish ahead of Buffalo and Detroit this year which is great I guess, but it's going to be a long season for the Sens again. Their far from competitive. On some nights it will look good, on others disastrous. It's what they are.
Combine that with the fact that you want OTT to retain 1.5M over the remaining 2 years of his contract
No. This is a bad trade. ****ing leaf fans on this site are delusional.</div></div>

And if you're going to trade him you need a cheaper player, asking a team to retain salary isn't going to give you a ton. However, the cap space has to be quantified as part of the return.

See this is the problem. You guys watch 82 games of the Leafs and it stops there. I'm not a Leafs fan, I watch probably 700 games a year and if the Leafs acquired Boone Jenner he would be the best bottom 6 forward they currently have out of that collection of garbage they roll out there in the bottom 6 every night. Also, I don't know where Leaf fans get this idea that Rielly is this elite defenceman. He's a really good defenceman, but he's no where close to a one. Does some good things out there, but also does some bad things.
