<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zaro95</b></div><div>If the conversation is with Detroit than the first piece I'd see Buffalo asking for is pick 6, probably next year's first (lottery protected or atleast a 2nd that could become a 1st), and a blue chip prospect. Id look at the Eric Karlsson trade as a comparable, a combination of high picks and valuable prospects. If Detroit isn't prepared to give that I'm sure there are a handful of teams that are willing too</div></div>
Agreed, Eichel would start with one of Raymond or Seider, a high end center going back so Larkin but Veleno as a prospect could work, this year's first and maybe a top 3 protected 2022 first
just not worth it, sets the rebuild back a few years

2021-22 DRW using TheAthletics Outlandish trade proposal
I think Vancouver is better off using the top 9 pick to get a good player and holding on to Loui for one more season than they are trading back 13 spots to be rid of the contract for one season. They can bridge Petey and Hughes until they have more cap space

Bertuzzi in the fold
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jchafe77</b></div><div>If wings fans seriously think they're "competing" next year, you are sadly mistaken. Good luck doing it with Larkin and... and... ummm, yeah... LARKIN!
Bertuzzi is exactly going to get you this offer, because seriously... the price tag you guys think is on Bertuzzi is not that. Would you (wings fans) like to acquire a player who is currently coming off of a back injury, and may quite never be the same again? Toronto can afford to lose a couple of prospects, because itll be 3-5 years before they even get a chance to get to the big leagues.</div></div>
Mantha got a 1st and Vrana when everyone on this site said a comparable was Domi and a 2nd. Right now Bertuzzi is a part of our future and we don't want to move him, so to get him it's an overpay. Seeing as he is an RFA and has team control he would be cheaper than what Hyman would command on the open market with a couple more years of team control. You're correct in saying the back injury is a risk to take but if Bert can put up close to 50 on Larkin's wing imagine what he could do playing with Matthews or Tavares when healthy. Change Liljegren to a LD prospect and it's probably fair. Don't know much about Der-Arguchintsev but a conditional second that could turn into a first if leafs make the conference finals (or something along those lines) would be nice.
also I don't think any of us realistically think the wings are close to competing yet, we're at least a competent starting goalie away from that

I feel like StL could definitely get another pick out of the Dunn deal for the wings, but I would be happy to get him for a 2nd. Wings could get center at 6 OA and maybe take Cossa with Washington's pick if he's still available.

Eichel trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I do think it will take 4 assets, but the team that will be giving them up would likely be picking in the 20-32 range each year. It would likely take 2 or 3 1sts in that range to land Raymond/Seider. Eichel will be moved for a big package but what it is way too much for Detroit. One of raymond/seider and this years 1st would probably be fair value but I still don't think Detroit makes that trade. Just doesn't make sense to move multiple assets for 1 right now. Especially with what Vegas and Montreal are doing in the playoffs with no true 1C</div></div>
Completely agree with you, Detroit definitely should not do this trade, was just doing a hypothetical in what I thought it would take to get him.
Having Eichel would give us the 1C we've needed for a long time but we'd lose too much to acquire him. we wouldn't be able to put talent around him and he'd end up in playoff-less limbo like he is now.

Eichel trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I think this trade is a massive overpayment for Eichel, Veleno and Berggren project to be top 6 guys within the next few years and the two first should turn into a top 6 F/ Top 2 D/ Starting goalie. 4 high end assets plus a 2nd and Tuomisto could get you the entire Sabres team. If I am Detroit I would consider Veleno, 2021 1st and take your pick of another middle tier prospect.</div></div>
Gotta disagree man, everything from what I'm hearing is Eichel will take what's worth around four 1sts (if Buffalo gets that or not is another story but I'm basing my trade idea off of that)
so a blue chip prospect (Raymond or Seider)
a center to go back to replace Eichel (Larkin or Veleno)
and two 1sts would roughly equal that four 1sts price tag
Eichel is a top player in the league when healthy and to get something like that you have to give up a lot imo

Eichel trade
As a wings fan, I don't think this is close enough to get Eichel. You're looking at:
Raymond/Seider
Larkin/Veleno
2021 1st
2022 1st
as a start, and that might not even do it. Also probably sets the rebuild back a few years to do this. As for the Toronto trade, Ras and Erne both are showing improvement so I doubt Stevie ships them off

rebuild
The red wings are also rebuilding. Why would we take on $12 million in cap over 6 years for two players over 30 who are already starting to decline? Our first is more than likely going to be a better pick than Montreal's 1st and Robby Fabbri has been one of the few bright spots of the season for the Wings, why would we trade him away? Gallagher is a great player that the Wings would love to have but he's not worth taking on two cap dumps and a potentially lower 1st. If you want the Wings to take this you're gonna have to add at least another unprotected first and an A prospect <strong>minimum,</strong> and that's probably not even enough.

I agree, don't see it happening but thought it would be fun to gauge what a better trade would be than what this site offered

This was a pre-protected list/trades and getting rid of as much cap space as possible scenario (why I called it "Pipe Dream" haha). I agree Holland isn't going to anything near this, but a man can dream. I'll probably end up doing a more realistic scenario later.
