Clayton doesnt want to play in utah
I can't see ARI/SLC giving up their best player without at least one of Edvinsson/Kasper/Danielson/Raymond going their way. If they move Keller they're taking so many steps back, they need pieces to build around.

There is not now, has never been, and will never be, a 2024 1st rounder in this deal from NJD.</div></div>
Hence the pick is heavily conditional.

They're getting multiple good asset here.
They're not getting top prospects / young NHL players tho. 34 year old goalies with fickle history will never do that.

If you truly think Markström's value will top any trade involving a goalie past 5 years or so, you're being delusional.
This package already exceeds such value.

Tbh even if that was true Devils would still pay for him a 75-point player's price because that's who Tkachuk has been for past 2-3 years.
You wouldn't move Sanderson for Tkachuk equivalent, so I doubt NJ would do that either.

Yea I guess. To me personally it's more or less a trade neither team should do. I think WSH is able to move him without retaining to some other team, albeit for a bit smaller return, meanwhile DAL should be looking for something bit more substantial than what they already have, they should get who is a clear upgrade over Lundkvist or Hakanpää, not a marginal upgrade.

Trade Deadline Predictions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Wow, no to that Philly trade. Seeler isn't a top 4 dman and Laughton is really f'in bad by all metrics, and Philly has been trying to move him since the summer, he's verifiably a negative. Jokiharju alone is too much, let alone Ostlund. Don't understand the point of the Edmonton trade. You also can't retain 4+ salaries</div></div>
Pretty sure it's not just Philly trying to move Laughton, there's been heavy interest for him for over a year now, some reports suggest Briere declined an offer of 1st+ in value for Laughton during last year's draft. They're not simply just gonna ship him away.
That being said, that is wayyyyy too much for him. Would be a more reasonable package without Östlund, but does BUF even need Laughton? Don't see it...

Sell right
Something tells me trading a very solid, borderline NHL ready prospect for a rental D-man is an absolutely terrible idea.
This same logic can be added to basically all trades suggested here. They're ludicrously tilted towards Detroit's favor.

Travis Konecny per friedman
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>smokewiseganja</b></div><div>I just feel like Torts not loving him will effect is value. They'd probably have an offer like this lined up from a couple contenders, or a middle of the pack team could offer a much better prospect but not much else</div></div>
Who knows. I doubt Briere will move the needle unless he gets an offer that blows his pants away, and we haven't seen what kind of GM he is during the deadline. Konecny is atm the best asset Flyers have in their roster, they are in no hurry to move him.
Also, imo "coach not liking a player X" is a very subjective factor to add in a value discussion of a player. That doesn't really have anything to do with the player himself. At best, it's a miniscule nuance factor that might affect the players numbers slightly negatively due to not being played enough or in a wrong type of role.

This would be smart
Somehow I think Matheson and Florida are past each other. The contract Matheson currently has was signed by Florida, and things did not work out for him there.
Plus, trading Lundell at this stage would be a dumb move from Florida. The guy is having a slump year for sure, but he's still most definitely going to be a Top6 C for them for a long, long time, as he's only 22 years old.

Feel like that offer gets beaten fairly easily. It's fairly comparable to Lindholm trade (especially if the 2nd is only for retention since Lindholm's trade didn't have any), and Konecny is at the moment the superior player of the two, and he has another year left on his contract to boot.
If you want that sort of player with hefty retention to boot, you're gotta give something bit more substantial than this imo.

Actually realistic no BS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>LOL; the other guy thought that wasn't enough for Ned. What would CBus be interested in for an underperforming pending UFA?</div></div>
I mean Behrens is a 20yo D-man scoring 20 points in 27 games in NCAA, that's a decent prospect in there, meanwhile Ned is having a good season for a 2G, but was signed as an UFA this year after being waived last year...I don't see huge trade value in that. It was a risk from Pens to get him, and so far it's been worth it for them. Still, in terms of trade value, I'll say maybe 3rd, 4th round pick? Goalies don't typically have huge trade value, and Behrens is more than that...
As for Roslovic, he'd been underperforming, but so is the whole Columbus team as a whole (yet again). However, I don't see what would adding an 8th or 9th D and a 25 year old forward with not much development potential add to their roster either, would rather just swap Roslovic for a pick.
