STOP TRADING FOR PANARIN
Totally agree. Have to stick to the rebuild. If we trade any of our new prospects for panarin we might as well have just continued sathers terrible trend of trading our 1st for players. Only way I'm for a panarin trade is if we give them a lowball offer centered around Hayes (like Hayes and a mediocre prospect or two). Only reason I'm ok with that is bc first I'm afraid of overpaying Hayes on a new deal and also we have too many center on the roster and I'm afraid of them moving chytil or Anderson to wing and stunting their growth

Lol dude u have to be kidding. We're talking about a guy that's a decent #2 center. Not only that but he's a rental. Why would the rangers trade what they expect to be a dynamic play making high upside potential #1 center for a 31 yo rental who's never topped 55 points in a season and is entering the downslope of his career? Even on half price that's still crazy

This Is What Most Likely Happens
Nice job with the roster/explanation. The only thing that makes me raise my eyebrows is Jespar Fast. I see here you have him on LTIR, and if that's what actually happens, I have no complaints. However if he doesn't get out on LTIR, we'd have an interesting log-jam with our forwards (that's assuming Tkachyov fits in and plays well). I know that's a big assumption but still a possibility. Now who do you sit? Last year Buch was the odd man out, but I don't see that happening again this year. Tkachyov very well could be the guy sat, but if he's producing offensively it's unlikely. When Fast is healthy I don't see him being out of the lineup. Just something interesting to think about. If that happens could we possibly see a forward (maybe Nash) put in with a defenseman (Holden?) and a pick to bring back a decent center at the TDL? Maybe. That is of course only if center does prove to be a weak point as it is expected to be

I think ur giving up too much value for duchene. I know he's good but I mean he's not even a top 15 center in the league imo. Just not worth Sakics asking price

Avs fans... would you do it?
As a Rangers fan I wouldn't want this. Giving up too much. It'd be one thing if they were getting a really elite center but Duchene is just a solid #1 center imo. Just not worth giving up that much for

Duchene for Hayes+
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Haanrngrsfn311. So you are so blinded being a Ranger fan. Teams aren't interested in mid range prospects....than want guys that can play in the NHL. You have to know Graves is very unlikely to play in the NHL and maybe even Halderson. Of course you conveniently ignored, Staal's NTC. I'm sure he would veto a trade to worse team in the league.
I'm not a big Duchene supporter and Hayes and something for Duchene makes sense. But please you trading AHLers and negative value Staal for also. Any GM even Sakic can spend 5.7m better on other player(s) than Staal. Sorry that's the reality of Staal's value.</div></div>
Actually it's very likely that Graves has a career in the NHL. He had a promising season in the AHL this year and I believe he's only 21 years old

Henrik Lundqvist is 35 years old</div></div>
Yes that is true however he still has a few years left in him and we have a very good goalie prospect in Igor Shestyorkin who seems poised to take over the job in about 3 years when hank is ending his career

Taking advantage of Wings cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JohnPance</b></div><div>The rangers cannot take on any more long term money thus Neilson cant work. I would love to ave him for one year but he comes with 5 more, WAYYYYY too much even at that cap hit. We need a stop gap for 1 year and thats it because even with 3.5 million only on him that wont leave enough money to Re-sign all the RFAs and McD. The rafers face a serious cap crunch next season due to all the re-signings.</div></div>
I see your point here. However, Nielsen doesn't have a full NMC, just a partial one. He can only name 10 teams he can't be traded to. It's incredibly reasonable to suggest he has around a 50 point season. That being said if the rangers truely won't have the cap space to fit in they're free agents next year with Nielsen on the team, they won't have much of a problem at all in sending his contract elsewhere, whether it be after next year or in the future. Just a thought.

RNH trade
Interesting trade but Kovacs is currently in some legal trouble after a street racing incident so no team is going to want to take him. I do love the idea of Grigorenko as the 4th line C although I think he'd cost more than that

I like the idea! Not sure if that'd be enough to pry statsny from the blues I think it's likely we'd have to give up more.... maybe better/more picks or a prospect. Also if we're gunna be giving more then maybe try going for duchene? Either way it would solve our top center woes. Also my personal touch would be Mikhail Grigorenko for 4th line C but he only fits in because there's extra cap space. Also I love the staal trade concept. That's a realistic expectation for what we'd have to give up to move his contract. The trades do kinda bankrupt us in terms or picks but I think it's a necessary evil and needs to be done. Still managed to keep the first rounders tho so that really takes the sting away from that

If the Cap Stays Flat
That is giving up too much for girardi. Defensively I don't think that Pionk will ever ready to start next year.... maybe the year after. I'd also love to find a way to deal Staal to avoid an expensive buyout

Outside Fan Perspective
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HHockey20</b></div><div>I don't think Shattenkirk will sign for that amount, if so, a lot more teams would probably be in on him.
From a Coyotes perspective, they're getting hosed. Plenty of goalies out on the market that can be had for a lot less.m</div></div>
You are correct Shattenkirk will sign for more than that no doubt. Somewhere in the 6-7 million range. Also Zib will sign for about a million more. Lindbergh will sign for more like 1.5 mill. You need to find a way to deal both girardi and staal to avoid a costly buyout. I know that might not be realistic but that's the only way this team actually wins the cup in the future
