Landy coming back
Yeah, Nylander reportedly seeking north of $9M/8 will sign for $6M/5 for sure. Like you are less than 40% of his ask. And you're still not cap compliant.

I don't think anyone else is a fit for Hughes. None of them are fit for top-pairing minutes. Hirose is the secondary scoring option if anything.

I think the signing of Wheeler declares their stance on Kane or Tarasenko. Rest of the cap goes to Miller and Laf.

two year outlook
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RedWing9119</b></div><div>There are a few things on here that probably not accurate. For one; the cap is projected to go up 10 million <em>at least</em> over the next two years. So we're talking 94 million not 87. Second; I seriously doubt that Yzerman is going to tie up 17 million dollars for two 32+ year olds. Especially after preaching patience and building the core through the draft. Also, Moose will make more and unless Raymond's season is just insane; he's likely signing a 3 or 4 year bridge.</div></div>
Is that accurate on the cap? I've used this as a general for 25-26 ACGMs based on not much.
I guess you could pass on Stamkos but Hellebuyck seems like a good fit. He still has 7+ years left in him and is a hometown kid. Do you have more optimism in Cossa than I do? What's your solution in net there?

Surprisingly, not terrible, but not a real contender. Might be able to make playoffs in the Pacific if vibes are good. I imagine Hronek would be Hughes' partner naturally and don't think Joshua is a good fit in the top-6. Maybe give Podkolzin a shot in that spot. Is Pearson even healthy?

Buch for nylander
I don't think this is realistic for either side. TOR shouldn't have to include a 1st. Blues shouldn't be interested in Nylander to begin with. Buchnevich has an extra year of term and lower cap hit. Let's just part ways and stop making Nylander for Buchnevich trades.

Alright, I've opted to drop Roslovic and put DeBrincat on his natural wing, moving Mazur up to 2LW. Is Soderblom or Rasmussen a better option there?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>Love Stamkos and Wilson but why sign them in two years? Stammer 35, Wilson 31 and with his brand of hockey likely trending down. Hellebuyck also 32 and for that money? That would be kind of a yikes. I think he wants to go to a winning team now that he is still an elite goalie, not one that might be good in 3 years. You really don't need Stamkos or Wilson cause guys like Rasmussen and Soderblom plus others likely have a bigger roll on the team.</div></div>
I think Stamkos to age 38 at this cap hit is fine. Hellebuyck expires at 38 as well. I think that's fine. I kinda just settled on Roslovic as 2RW, but there's maybe a better option there. Like I said, I hate Yzerman's recent signings because he's tying up too much cap to mediocre when he could be making a better signing than Roslovic.

I decided to make some changes because I forgot DeBrincat seems likely to end up in DET.

Mittelstadt is a bridge deal but regardless I think you may be overvaluing him.
Nelson would be 34 here and already starting to regress. Nothing out of the ordinary there imo.

With Savoie, Benson, Kulich, Ostlund coming, Mitts is almost certainly getting phased out in the near future.
And I fail to see any “very unreasonable” contracts that you speak of.

Leonard alone is easily a better pick than Simashev, then you add all the rest. I give ARI's draft like a C- but these moves would have made it like an A-? Could be even better if they picked Musty or even Perreault at #19. I'm not optimistic of But.

I was hoping for Musty at 25 but I don't mind the Stenberg pick at all.

I think this team could actually put pressure on the wild card spot in the West, but they're not quite there yet. Probably looking at like a #12/13 pick next year.

Just because you drafted him higher doesn't mean he has more value. Armstrong was a fool not to take Benson, Moore or ASP. I feel like Wood is even a better version of But. No chance Moore is available.
