PHI deals for Size and vets
Hagg has done nothing to warrant a significant pay raise. If he wants to come back I think Fletcher offers him something in the 2x$1.5M max.
If the Flyers find any team willing to take JVR's deal it's going to come with a demand for a high draft pick. With Fletcher stating he doesn't see the team being big players in FA for the next couple years I don't see a reason they need to rush to move JVR. At worst they can work out a deal with Seattle at the expansion draft next year.
And the Ghost for Reaves trade makes zero sense to me. If they do move on from Ghost I think it'll be a player for picks deal so they can get full cap relief and potentially bring in a 3C if they don't feel confident with Patrick or Frost going into next year. But I go back Fletcher's statement about not being that active in FA. I think they slow play this over the next year and see what a lot of these young guys can do (Patrick Frost Allison Laczynksi Zamula Farabee Friedman Sandin).
Last point, Shattenkirk is getting way more than what you have him signed for.

No reason for the Flyers to make that trade right now with Ghost's perceived value at its lowest point this season.

Flyers would take that deal and run. Ghost is a shell of his former self and needs a fresh start. In addition they get his cap hit off the books. If he's moved it'll definitely be seen as a reclamation project and the team trading for him will definitely have to incur some risk. In this case the risk is his health. He's been pretty banged up the last year or two with the most recent issue being a nagging knee injury he just had minor surgery on.
Athanasiou is the exact type of the player the Flyers need right now; a capable two way center with serious wheels.

2020 TDL Cap Issues
Since it doesn't seem Fletcher will waive Stewart at any point this season I moved Farabee back to LV to keep the cap space kosher. Is he still a long term piece for the franchise absolutely, but getting back to playing top 6 minutes in the AHL could probably do him some good also.

NJ hosted in 2013 and traded the 10th overall pick for Schneider.
Dmen who can throw in around 10G 35A on avg aren't cheap. Add in the value of his contract at $4.5M AAV for four more years a first round pick would have to come back in just about any trade sans Drouin/Gallagher.

Any deal around Ghost/Shaw is going to require MTL to add Fleury or Mete, and the 2020 or 2021 1st.
This AGM forgot a pretty crucial piece left for the Flyers offseason. Where's the goalie to serve as the tandem partner for Hart? With 15 b2b's this season they can't afford to roll into the season with Alex Lyon as their backup.

Hhmmm lets see
w/ Brock Nelson already signing an extension for 6 years at a $6M AAV I think Hayes will get something in the 5-6 year range at $6.5-6.75M. I honestly think Fletcher acquired his rights because that's the guy they want at 2C and he'll pay the premium to avoid Hayes testing free agency.

PHILLY with Trades
Zaitsev's contract is an albatross that you want nowhere near this organization. Kapanen for Gudas Strome and a 3rd is fairly reasonable. Nolan Patrick's potential makes that current deal severely lopsided in Toronto's favor.
I don't think Fletcher considers moving TK for at least another 2 years. I fully expect him to sign some type of bridge deal for 2 years in the $4M AAV range. He's the exact kind of forward they're going to need in the playoffs.....when they get back.
At this point I think if MacDonald has no place in the lineup next season they might just buy him out. No sense in giving up picks for a team to eat the last year of that contract.

PHILLY with Trouba and TOR deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Possibly, but that's a lot to give up for rights, a high 1st rounder, a solid/cheap 3rd pairing defender and Sandstrom might not be the piece, (maybe forward Strome) but hes a very good prospect, but Myers instead of Hagg is a large price to pay, especially since WPG will have to move salaries.
I think a 1st, capable Hagg, a 4th and a good prospect like Strome is quite a good deal for "rights".
For me Trouba is a expensive ticket, that quite a few clubs couldn’t fit in salarywise.
The offer I put together: is a 1st (13th overall I think), and Hagg is worth a low 2nd IMO, and Strome or Sandstrom in trade would definitely catch a low 1st rounder or early 2nd, (and are closer to the pros), so really I see Trouba’s rights in this deal as:
Trouba’s rights for two 1sts, a 2nd and a 4th, that’s a pretty fair deal</div></div>
I think Hagg's value sits more around a mid 3rd early 4th right now. But we all know GM's drool over guys like him and will gladly overpay. Myers while showing he likely has the tools to excel at the NHL is still an unproven commodity. You know what you're getting with Trouba, someone who can slide in and hopefully be Provorov or Sanheim's partner for the next 5-7 years and be a stabilizing first pair guy. As strapped as Winnipeg is with limited cap space I feel like they're only going to move his rights if a team offers them something that checks off a lot of boxes. Otherwise they may be content to let him sign a huge offer sheet and rack up a bunch of future 1sts. Again there is risk on that end to that Winnipeg loses him to team that contends in the short term and the picks turn out to be all late round firsts.

PHILLY with Trouba and TOR deals
The Trouba trade isn't a good deal for Winnipeg nor does it make practical sense. They have their goalie of the present and future in Hellebuyck so I highly doubt they would want a prospect goalie coming back. If you're going to package a player with a 1st round pick for Trouba it would have to be someone with higher upside. Hagg is a one dimensional player and his hits and blocked shots stats are moot. Fletcher would have to consider moving a player like Myers with the 1st to land Trouba's RFA rights.

Trades w WPG BUF TOR EDM
My thought behind this trade was - Nuge slides right into the 2C role allowing Patrick to play 3C while receiving more favorable matchups. Frost has been an incredible talent at the junior level but you never know if that translates to the professional level. My big concern with Frost is reading reports about how his game lacks pace at times. The Flyers want players that will provide immediate returns and RNH is definitely a player that can provide that. Plus the Flyers still have extreme depth at forward in their prospect pool. This year's first I threw in with Frost helps rationalize the risk EDM would have to take by trading a bonafide NHL talent for an unproven, albeit, highly touted prospect.

Just an option for immediate improvement on the blue line. It was either the Spurgeon trade or signing Stralman. I took the younger better player. With all our prospects its completely feasible to say Spurgeon for Prospect "X" straight up also. But with the pipeline currently stocked missing one first round pick doesn't do much damage long term.

I could see that. After looking at it I’d probably take about $750K away from Hartman’s deal and tack that onto Provorov. I think TK doesn’t get much more than $4-4.5. Sanheim strikes me as the kind of player that would bet on himself and may only want a 2 year deal trying to become a big time contributor and get an even larger deal when he’s 24. With the cap going up it’s tough to speculate what kind of valuation teams are going to put on their RFAs.

It's a contributing factor for sure. He'd be an upgrade over every goalie we currently have in the organization. Odds are they'd still miss the playoffs in this scenario and get a two time Stanley Cup champion for at least another season to mentor Hart if they bring him up to back up Crawford the following year. All that at the cost of another team's 3rd round pick? I don't see how a GM would turn that down.
