Dallas-NYR Big Trade

He has shown signs if you have actually watched him play. He has only ever had one other AHL season lol. He has all the tools to be a good top 6 forward. Plays hard every shift, strong in puck battles, big, physical, very fast, good hands, good shot, strong defensively, It's tough to produce on a Stars team (in a 4th line role too) that has some of the worst offensive depth it has ever had. Not every top 6 player starts the same. Could easily have a huge breakout season next year. Rangers management would have interest in him being a part of the deal for sure. There's a reason the Stars wouldn't move him for Karlsson. I think your expectations of what you'll get for those guys are too high. Fans rarely turn out happy when they see the return they get for players.

Hintz and Robertson easily have top 6 potential, plus whoever you draft with that 1st rounder. These aren't middle 6 players, they're top end prospects. Hintz was a dealbreaker in the Karlsson trade. Dickinson has untapped potential too but he doesn't ever get a chance here. Think of Mark Stone as a good comparable for Jason Robertson.

Hintz + 2nd for Zuccarello
Robertson + Nichushkin + 1st for Hayes
Janmark for Namestnikov
Riley Tufte + 3rd rounder x2 for Buchnevich
Maybe take Honka and throw him into the rangers trade for Buchnevich? Overall it looks really good</div></div>
I included Dickinson as well

Yep. We would have to pay someone to take Hanzal, cause his career is likely over. LTIR is perfect.

Khudobin isn't available unless a goalie just as good is coming in return. Why would a rebuilding team want him anyways though?
Henrique's contract is a little steep for me as well idk how I feel about him

He means brutal for us cause that would leave a massive hole on our defense. Stars are set defensively, but they truly can't lose or trade any of their top 3 guys back there. It would be a nightmare

Hintz is a "meh" prospect yet was the deal breaker for the Karlsson trade. You know nothing about Hintz. Could easily be a 2C by next season. So much potential. You'd be lucky to get this for an unsigned Duchene considering Nill had already said he's not moving his 1st for rentals

This team would be incredible with some better depth. 20-4-0 when they score 3 or more goals this season. Also 2 top 5 goalies (statistically) and one of the best defenses in the NHL. Maybe watch some games and do some research on the team next time. Could learn something

Lindell is not available unless a young top 6 forward is coming back. He's way too important to this team right now. This deal does not help us in any way and just gives us more 4th liners and bottom pairing dmen. The value here is not even close at all

Rebuilding - trades with NSH BOS DAL WSH VGK
Really like Manson but Eaves and Kesler are both cap dumps. Last thing we need are more injury prone players on long term deals...I'd be more interested if it was Rakell instead of Manson, but I doubt Anaheim would do that. This just doesn't solve any issues for us and makes us worse and in a worse cap situation

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Lol... you do realize where polak came from right?
Oh and by the way... you just described zaitsev... Zaitsev sheltered? Bahahaha... he plays Dzone starts kills penalties and picks up slack for gardiner. Oh he also plays the big minutes at the end of games we lead by a goal. Put him with someone he doesn’t have to babysit and he is good for 20-30 points.</div></div>
Doubt he would see that same usage in Dallas. And yes I do know Polak was a Leaf. I also know he's been great for us this year and is dominant on the PK. I'd prefer the Stars pay a higher price and target someone with playoff experience that we know will be good. A veteran

Just playing with some options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jamiepo</b></div><div>Zaitsev is far better than polak and fedun. He gets a bad rap on this site. He is about 1m over paid but is versatile and if deployed right could be a good fit with the stars especially if johns ends up on ltir for any length of time. He is worth a 3rd or 4th round pick to a team that could use a 2nd pair rhd.</div></div>
He definitely wouldn't be more important to this team than Polak is. And is worse defensively than both Polak and Fedun. Zaitsev is just not the dman we need. We need a legitimate 2nd pairing defenseman that can play top 4 minutes, not be a liability, contribute offensively and compliment Heiskanen's game, and kill penalties. We don't need a dman that needs to be sheltered. The type of dman we need is gonna be costly

No interest from the Stars. Our center depth is great outside of our 2nd line. Sutter definitely isn't a 2C and definitely isn't better than Faksa for 3C

As a Stars fan, I want absolutely nothing to do with that Zaitsev contract. We have cap issues as it is, and if we aren't getting paid quite a bit to take him then I don't want him.
Not sure he'd crack the lineup anyways. Polak and Fedun have been good

Not sure why. Dallas is 20-4-0 this season when they score 3 or more goals in a game. Meaning literally the only reason they lose is when they don't score enough goals. This would fix that

Meanwhile they miss out on Dallas' top prospect and a 2nd round pick for 2 of their veteran rental players, one of which is just a depth defenseman. Only thing they'd be laughing about is how good of a return they got for their rentals. Robertson is worth Nyquist as a rental alone imo. I was being generous in this offer

Not to mention what are we supposed to do with 10 defensemen on the NHL roster lol. 12 if you include Methot who is on LTIR and Johns who is on IR

Panarin would take probably something around a 2019 1st round pick, Robertson, Janmark, and Hintz, and that's just for an unsigned Panarin.
