Better options than Salomonsson if you want a big Rd with solid offensive upside. Luneau is a more solid pick. Bichsel is another good option, giant with good skating and great compete level.

Ok time to stop with that nonsense.
Seider is already playing like a dominant 1d in his rookie year. The guy is going to be a franchise player who can do it all, offense, defense... He's a rock, the kind of guy you build your team around.
Not saying Hughes is bad or anything, but his first 2 seasons were underwhelming and yes he's looking like an offensive superstar, but i'd rather build my team around a Lidstrom than a Patty Kane. those kind of Dman are so rare to find.
Seider is #1 without any hesitation.

Raw talent wise, Michkov is better than Fantilli. But i see Fantilli in the same tier.
Draft wise and for a few practical reasons, i think Fantilli will go 2nd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>odyssey</b></div><div>underrating michkov already</div></div>
Not at all. Michkov has more raw skills offensively, no doubt.
But you have to factor in that he’ll be playing in Russia until 2026, plus Fantilli has the physicality factor Michkov hasn’t and better suits the NHL. I also think Fantilli potential is somehow really close to Bedard and Michkov and he brings something more to the table being a physically dominant/aggressive, supremely skilled center. It’s a rare combination and it will bring a lot of value to his stock when comes draft day. This guy probably would have been the 1st overall pick in many, many drafts - just not 2023. This is just my 2 cents.

Are you freaking kidding me? No he's not makar but he’s the most complete d prospect in the CHL right now and ppg this year. He’s top 15 and it’s not even debatable.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I am with you on a lot of these. I think Ottawa lifts up out of that bottom tier soon. Young team and about to add Jake Sanderson, who could be a top-pair guy in a year. Also, Ducks may lose a free agent or two, but they have pipeline to full holes (and maybe Comtois bounceback). I don't think they will fall. I am much more negative on Vancouver and Philly...I think both orgs seem lost and probably need to go through strip-in-down rebuild.
Here is a guess of lottery-eligible (non-playoff) teams
1. Arizona
2. Seattle
3. Vancouver
4. Philadelphia
5. Chicago
6. Dallas
7. San Jose
8. Buffalo
9. NY Islanders
10. Ottawa
11. Columbus
12. Montreal
13. Anaheim
14. New Jersey
15. Detroit
16. Winnipeg</div></div>
I can't see how Montreal would improve that much. They're also about to sell a few vets... Even if Price returns they'll be bottom 10.

Yes but it does influence your value in a draft. Even though Michkov is probably a generational talent like Bedard, Fantilli could very well be a franchise talent, that's just how good he is... plus he's a center, with size and a sky high skillset. Michkov also lacks the physical side, he never uses his shoulders...
If i were to choose between them, i would personally go for Fantilli as of now. Just lower risk all around and probably still go away with a player that could have been #1 in many drafts.

2021 re
The Mailloux selection is entirely based on projection. Yes he only has played 2 games in the O but he is dominant out there, he looked like a men amongst kids. He had a few bunders here and there but i guess it's normal after almost one year away from the game. He has all the tools to be a top 4 in the league, mean big body, smooth hands, big strides and a super heavy wrist shot. I wachted a lot of OHL this year and i didn’t have that much of a big impression from other d prospect around the league, especially from an 18 year old.
I know this guy and his selection is still super controversial and i don’t want to go into that, but this guy looks like a powerhorse, dangerous on almost every shift. Maybe it won't last but if he can keep this pace and polish his game, he's definately locked in that top 10.

He should be 4-6 top. No way Glass, Tippett or Patrick could be above him. They’re nowhere near him actually. Thomas and Necas should be above these guys as well. I mean, wth is that 😂😂😂😅

He’s progressing but he’s still far away from the franchise player he was touted about. I like how Zegras is progressing and Dach has shown some flashes of what he could soon bring to the table. I look foward to see Hughes play with Holtz, it will sure be beneficial for both players. But all in all, i think it will be a close race between Hughes, Dach and Zegras in the long run. It’s a personnal opinion, but i don’t think Hughes has the warrior mentality, the winning obsession that make great leaders and is more often than not, a true difference maker in the NHL.

So you're not very high on Dach huh? He should be at the very least above Caufield. Any teams would be crazy to select a diminutive goal scorer over a potential franchise center...

Right now, i just don’t see it. I’m more liking what i see right now with Dach, plus his size add some value to his stock. This might change over the years and the coming of guys like Holtz. I tend to think Hughes junior career was greatly complimented by Caufield... back then, everyone thought it was the opposite but Caufield has thrived and broke records everywhere he played with or without Hughes.
