lalalallafontaine While it is great to have many GK prospects now that the Sabres decided to take Topias Leinonen the #1 ranked European and the first GK taken in the draft, Portillo could be expendable.
BTW, I really hate second guessing Jeramiah Crowe as he knows a lot more than I but taking Ostlund over Kemell was IMO questionable.
Ostlund is not an off the wall pick but nearly every pre-draft predictions had Kemell taken among the top ten and Ostlund much later none lower than 14th and one https://www.nhl.com/news not among the top 32.
After he was injured he fell out of favor as his production waned in the second half of the season.
I hope this is not a Reinhart/Draisaitl event.

I agree I wanted kemell when the sabres were on the clock however I am definitely not mad that we got Ostlund. Hearing all the reports and how high some people are on him is encouraging.

This has to be one of the worst takes I've seen in a while. If you knew anything about the sabres you would know Mitts also lost a lot of games due to injury. He was also forced into a bad sabres roster early in his career with coaches that didn't help his development at all. But yet your saying that there is nothing to point to in his deveopment problems. I agree Dach is more valuable right now but your making it seem like hes debricat. Also where a player was drafted if they were taken means nothing after a few years especially if they are not producing. Even if its a factor that should be considered they were both taken inside of the top 10 so that doesn't realy matter. Also Dach had 7 more points then Mitts with 30 more games played last year. I will agree the two year gap is the biggest difference between the two.
