Wouldn't trade Suzuki for him either. Wouldn't trade much for him TBH. I watch him a lot here in Winnipeg and he's often as much of a drawback as he is a positive. For the price he'll command, pass.

Clever work and I really like Dvorak but this wouldn't be a playoff roster. It's going to be tough to mold the Sabres into it if they are low 70s.

My flipping of the order of lines 3 and 4 was arbitrary. Flip them if it makes you happy. We have a very similar forward lineup. We've just switched the positions of Olofsson and Ehlers in the top 6.

Framework of a Domi trade for every team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>I think you’re overestimating how much Domi is going to make. He won’t make more than $5 million on a one year contract. He’ll only make more than that if he can get back to his 70 point season from 2 years ago.
And on well-balanced teams, Domi can play 16 minutes a game while being on the “3rd line”. In the playoffs, the difference between Vegas’s 1st & 9th forward in even strength ice time per game is 1 minute and 22 seconds. Stastny is 9th with 12:41 of ice time on Vegas, and Domi, like Stastny can get to 16 minutes with power play time.</div></div>
Domi could be the "3rd" C on a team like Buffalo that runs Larsson through the wall with tough defensive minutes.
3rd C in ice time, 2nd C in offensive usage.

Maybe I'm crazy but I don't see Domi's value at an all time low. Maybe for Montreal, as they have a better player taking his minutes in Danault.
But Domi established as an real option at centre ice this year, and that's valuable in itself. He had a down year production wise, but he had *1st* line O production last season. I'd like to see what he could do behind an Eichel taking all the tough match-ups.
The factors that will limit the return are well stated, but I think his value is being low balled at this point. As a Sabres fan, Olofsson isn't close to a conversation starter for Montreal.

Winnipeg would take Tavares for Laine. They'd be laughing. Laine isn't good and Tavares behind Scheifele when the Jets are trying to win right now is formidable.

TBH I don't think the likelihood of Winnipeg moving Copp is all that high either - they also need centres. But if D is their utmost priority, maybe Ristolainen has something on Chevy.
Just taking a shot here, for fun. Mainly I was hoping to illustrate what I consider to be the feasibility of this forward group with merely the addition of a stop-gap, more true-3C to the unit. Botterill didn't add a single C to the roster in 3 years save Lazar, I think a reliable 2-way, natural C in the mold of a player like Copp would work wonders without having to break the bank for a guy like Monahan necessarily.
Provided we add a top 6 winger. It also relies on retaining Larsson or a player like him. Eichel (and hopefully Cozens in a very sheltered role) are the offensive centres, if we aren't going to get a lot of offense from the other two, they need to be defensively reliable. Larsson and Copp would be matchups nightmares hopefully freeing up Cozens for that favourable usage.
Ehlers would be a dream next to Reinhart and provide that offensive spark on the second line, I see them as ridiculously complimentary players. I doubt the Jets move him, IMO he's their best forward full stop after Scheifele.

Literally all over the internet that there was a deal on the table Botterill balked at. Ehlers and Appleton for Ristolainen and Davidsson. I think the Sabres were supposed to add a 2nd. Botterill is a dunce and let Chevy off the hook there when he was desperate.

How the heck are the lines all over the place? I've got the same lines as you but switched Ehlers and Olofsson. Ehlers would be a much better fit with Reinhart than Eichel, as Ehlers likes to carry the puck in transition and Sam does not.
I listed the Larsson line before the Cozens line because it'll get more usage by ice time.
Fair point on Montour, I couldn't decide what to do with him so forgot about him lol. I'd deal him for futures potentially.

Yes they could use Ristolainen, but Copp > Mittelstadt right now and they’re trying to contend. The pick likely won’t develop and help them for another 3-4 years if it’s even in 2021, and by then what does their cup window look like?</div></div>
I hear this. I think the value is reasonable, but I can't argue with you on your point about the pick. The reason I'm so willing to deal firsts is to maximize Eichel's window (and avoid a trade request), but you are absolutely correct in pointing out the Jets would be looking to maximize their window now, too.
They'd have to really like Ristolainen for this to be feasible. But I like where it would leave the Sabres at F.

It's definitely not a drastic overpay, looking at past deals. I'd understand balking at it as a Jets fans though, that's fair. But Chevy was going to trade Ehlers for Risto last offseason, I've got the same deal here, but adding in a first round pick, which is a valued asset. Then I have Mittelstadt and a 2nd for Copp. It's hardly a mind-bending transaction.

And if he were traded to the Jets Domi would obviously stay with a team that has an intense an loyal fan base where he can play 2C on a young and talented team. The only reason Domi will probably sign a 1 year deal is because he wants to prove himself, not because of a lack of loyalty.</div></div>
I peg the Jets as more likely to give up the goods in a deal for a 2C. They are pretty barren at C, and unlike the Sabres don't have a prospect like Cozens (crossing fingers) who projects out as a bonafide top 6 C. They have to maximize that Wheeler contract before it gets ugly - their window is right right now.

Framework of a Domi trade for every team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>Really? I’m mostly just going off the stats, since I obviously don’t watch the Sabres other than when they play the habs. Do you think that he would put up more or less points on the habs than he would on Buffalo (since he’d be on a better team, but he wouldn’t have Eichel).</div></div>
I'm lately most interested in the Sabres dealing for more of a traditional 3C, say Andrew Copp, who I suspect due to the cost may be a better value bet for the Sabres. Using him as a stop gap 2C (defensively reliable) may be an avenue afforded to us by the presence of Cozens. If we upgrade at W in the top 6 to balance out.
All depends on cost. If Domi can be had for futures and non-top 6 assets, it's probably something that's going to work, even if it's not the preferred option - almost anything is better than Botterill's lack of action the past 3 years. As for your question - I'd imagine Reinhart would put up around the same on the Habs as he is in Buffalo. He's established as a pretty surefire ~ 60 point player. First line RW production - and he doesn't miss games, that's the rub.
He plays with Eichel, but the advanced metrics show he doesn't suffer much of a drop off away from him, and both Reinhart and Eichel benefit each other statistically. Not playing with Jack would probably be made up for by the overall strength of the Habs F unit.

Reinhart is as good as Domi so, this being a framework, the 1st is unnecessary. It's an intriguing idea, but I'm keeping Reinhart if at all possible as the Sabres need to add, not just add and subtract. I'd be more open to dealing the 1st round pick.
If in any way possible, I'm looking to deal futures (1st round picks on the table, etc) and from the D core where we have a surplus, before I remove one of our only top 6 forwards.
