<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>markmws</b></div><div>If that is the direction that the Canadiens (and Price) want to go, and Price waives his NTC to go to Edmonton, then the Canadiens would probably do it. But I don't know about Edmonton. Taking on Keith's contract and having the Canadiens retain on Price's contract is a good start. I think that the public perception of Price is sometimes different than that of NHL management: he will be a wanted commodity (especially if they retain). But whether or not they could get a first, Holloway and Yamamoto for him is another question entirely. I would assume Keith, a first and Holloway would get it done. Totally my opinion, so please don't hate. :)</div></div>

(Sorry for my English, It's not my current language) I think that a goalie could carrying his team in the playoffs is the missing part for Edmonton if they would win the cup, but Carey Price is the only actually available in the market. The problem is that Montreal have the most passionate fan base in the NHL, and Price is an idole in the city, so they habs don't let he go for a low value, otherwise the fans will reproach the new GM who will want to be appreciated from the beginning of his work. 3,5M for 5 year + Keith for a year are also very much cap space ! So here why in my opinion Price could be expensive. And if the habs lose all this, they will ask more than promise (prospects and picks), they will ask a "security" part in the deal, In my opinion Yamamoto could is that guy.

Thread: Pens 21-22
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>Here's what I'll say regarding the Khudobin trade

1) He's 35, so despite him being ok last year, another year is going to sink in and age will hit.
2) Even if he's still better than Jarry at this moment, it's not by much and doesn't move the needle enough IMO to part with a 2nd.
3) Hextall has repeatedly said he's not moving the Pens' 1st or 2nd picks anymore, possibly their better prospects in the right deal.</div></div>

Thanks for the relevant feedback. I wiil try to explain you my thinking. (sorry for the english, it's not my current language)
1) We need a goalie who can play playoffs games, because we have seen this year that Jarry is not yet able to. Khudobin was one of the best stars's player in their SCF run, and that was only one year ago !
2) With Khudobin, Jarry can play half of game next season. That will be good for Jarry's developement because he will learn with a veteran goalie. That will be equally good for Khudobin because as you said. he's 35 and play half of game in a season won't be too hard.
3) At this offseason's moment, many have already their goalies's tandem. So with our small cap space and not many other option in the market, we must not miss Khudobin ! If not, what other goalie ?
4) About Athanasiou, i don't see the remplacement of McCann, I think Rodrigues haven't a top 9 forward level, and ZAR and Blueger are better in 4st line / box play. So we need one ! I think Athanasiou have the level for a cheap salary, but it is necessary to put the price. LA is in a rebuilding, so they need prospect for a realistic trade. Legare is a good prospect, but we are in win now mode ! because the end of 87/71/58 era approach ...
