<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>Who would you say is more trustworthy than Kevin Kurz?

The org is notoriously quiet about any personnel movement. They respect their players privacy to the extreme. I personally do not like Kurz but Sheng Peng is coming up with big stories and Pashelka is pretty decent. I still stick with Friedman for legitimate facts though.
Peng is my go-to for any and all sharks needs though as he understands advanced statistics and scores excellent interviews with team staff

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>1. Kevin Kurz also said that what the Sharks are looking for in any Hertl trade are a 1st round pick + a top prospect that can either play centre or replace Merkley or Burns on the blue-line.
This is more than what the Sharks are asking for.
2. Hertl has a 3 team trade list and there are 30 other teams in the NHL besides Ottawa and San Jose.
There's at least a 90% chance that Hertl does not have Ottawa on that list.</div></div>
That's what Kurz said the sharks want. Kurz is not a great source for team facts as the sharks are notoriously quiet about personnel moves.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LogicOnly</b></div><div>1st off and most importantly, I am not a bruins fan
Secondly thats the point: "overvalued scraps" is what is wrong with this argument. Studnicka is far from overvalued scraps, a 1st is a 1st, Steen is emerging as a decent prospect, and well the 3rd is scraps I guess but not overvalued considering its a pick. So there is the problem, people just dont understand value lol
This is unforuntaley not a matter ofa opinoin, it is just a matter of peoples lack of research and knowledge, a problem that I like to avoid by doing my research
Bruins reject these two trades, and thats simply a fact, If we wanna talk opinion though I can throw out a couple trades that we can debate lol</div></div>
If you think that's an overpayment for Hertl then I don't even want to imagine what your other trades for debate are. Laughable at best I imagine

For discussion sake, let's say there is a bidding war. Would you do Barron, 1st, Kaut (or Bowers) for Hertl with retention and a reasonable extension? I probably would.</div></div>
Not even close on Hertl. You want our best player and one of the best centers in the game you better be prepared to move Newhook.

Meier still has tremendous upside and Id like to see what he's going to do this year before moving him. When it comes to money, SJs owner is one of the 100 richest men alive so I don't think Meiers next deal is going to break his back. Plattner is the founder of SAP lol, he'll be fine he always give Doug maximum flex and was apart of the Karlsson negotiations. He's not afraid to spend and B prospects don't sell tickets, star players do. So if we're talking on a pure revenue standpoint, Compher and Kaut are going to sell allot less that Meier.

It's a qualifying offer, not necessarily what the team has to pay him. He will get a bit less than Hertls next deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>I'm guessing that means Hertl will sign an extension with the Sharks, right?</div></div>
There’s been a lot of talk about San Jose’s Tomas Hertl, headed into his final season before unrestricted free agency. That intensified when the centre told Czech-based iDNES.cz, “I wonder if San Jose will want to re-sign me, and if I’ll want to stay there. … I’ll start the season and see how it turns out.” I’d love to see the incoming-call log on Sharks GM Doug Wilson’s phone, but word is he’s told other teams that it is San Jose’s desire to make this work, and that message will be delivered once Hertl arrives.
Around the TDL last year Wilson also said Hertl is a culture driver that the team wants to build around. I'd says it's very likely he stays with the Sharks

Make Detroit Great Again
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BStinson</b></div><div>So essentially the article was spreading this idea that Hertl doesn’t want to play with him? Every time I’ve seen someone mention it they say Hertl was mad about the incident but not if he’s mad about being on the trade block or staying so that helps clear that up a bit (so somewhat vague to me).</div></div>
Hertl has never been on the block. There's been zero indication that SJ wants to trade him, that was a fan creation. It makes sense to move him but also makes sense to keep him. But again, he's not on the block and wasn't ever on the block. That has been confirmed by all three of the sharks beat writers (peng, kurz and pashelka)
