Sabres
So, if the Sabres don't change their coach, and add some pieces to their roster, that 25 first is reasonably another top 10 pick. What's the fascination with rossi anyways, what exactly is he bringing that we don't have?

Where to go now
Thompson has a lower body injury, wrist injury, and a broken thumb i think. They didnt shut him down. Tuch separated his shoulder in camp. They didnt shut him down. Skinner is definitely concussed, its like his 8th one. Then Cozens broke his face fighting hathaway, and then got in a fight with a staircase (not kidding look up the video). There's your shooting regression explained.
The PP is the coaches fault
They'll trade one of Samuelsson or Jokiharju for someone like Cates, Kotkaniemi, Nic Roy etc. Basically a really fast 3C who can chip and chase (aka beat the trap). At least one of the first rounders in the minors will make the jump to the NHL team too. If I were handicapping it id say:
1. Savoie
2. Kulich
3. Rosen
Levi becomes back up, that's the team for next year.

Why are we comparing Slafkovsky to Jack Hughes
something weird has happened in montreal over the last couple weeks. Slafkovsky decided to shoot 50% for a few games, and habs fans (at list on twitter it was nuts) were going crazy saying he's elite, and the best player in the draft by a mile etc etc. I'm guessing Hughes has been brought up as a, "this is what a first overall pick is supposed to look like," comparison. It's justified because the chatter out of montreal is ridiculous. Right now he looks like the third best player in the draft, and i'm guessing that number will go higher as more prospects make it to the professional ranks.

I think the point is here that Matthews signing his deal doesn't hurt the team at all. Same with Willy getting more money.

Flames would likely accept which mean Buffalo probably wouldn't. I think Savoie would be a great player for the Flames to build around, although I'm not sure how well he will pan out as a center at the NHL level.
No chance that gets Swayman though. Even if they are out by the playoffs there is no world where you sell low on your 25 year old goalie of the future. They might send you Ullmark back bit certainly not Swayman

Four greater thans is nearly the same as three less thans.
On the other hand.
Factor in the age difference 31, 26 and 24 (81 years total) v 25, 22 and 21 (68 years total) and the cumulative salaries of 21.7 v 15.1 Million I think Buffalo would be foolish to make that trade even if they get the better players..

And i don't see them giving up a lot to only take one year run with him and then him walking in free agency.</div></div>
Not sure of their finances and how they see the fit. This is all without an extension and why the return is less than flattering.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>Not sure why you are signing bertuzzi. Or Cole tbh
The bertuzzi signing locks out peterka, kulich, mittelstadt, Krebs, savoie from the top 6 and blocks 2 of them from the top 9 and blocks atleast one of mittelstadt and Krebs from being resigned.
Also he probably doesn't sign that, <strong>nor does he fit the vibes</strong></div></div>
Agreed. Although fans will likely downplay the significance of it, Bertuzzi's boycott of the COVID vaccinations that prevented him from entering Canada hurt his team's chances for success whenever the Wings played north of the border. Although respecting personal rights factors in, I suspect the Sabres wouldn't welcome that kind of controversial context when their progress the past 2 years has been largely centered on a team-first commitment and players playing for each other.

"younger" by 5 months lmao. 1 year of cheaper play (not all that meaningful considering neither NJD or Carolina are cap strapped this year).
Meanwhile Bratt is the clearly better player:
5 on 5 scoring rates:
2022-23:
Bratt 1.06 G/60, 2.27 P/60
Necas 0.67G/60, 1.81P/60
21-22:
Bratt 1.25 G/60, 2.90 P/60
Necas 0.61G/60, 1.94P/60
20-21:
Bratt 0.3 G/60, 1.83 P/60 (primarly caused by poor shooting luck)
Necas 0.4G/60, 1.45P/60
19-20:
Bratt 1.21 G/60, 2.25 P/60
Necas 0.87G/60, 1.91P/60

Interesting proposal, and I think fair. Cap strapped Mini gets lots of cap. Currently Foligno and Spurgeon have 10.7m in cap. You've offered them a retained 1.25m in Jakhajari, and first and second rounders plus the Wild get 9.5m in cap. Certainly Minni could use some of that 9.5m to sign good player(s). More than fair IMO from the Sabres.

Exactly. If they can’t move him by retaining, they play him. They still need bodies to play games
