January Mock Draft (2 FULL ROUNDS)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Stutzle over Byfield I just cannot agree with but I respect the overall effort put into this. There are players I disagree on highly (Sanderson is 2nd round player. Not a big upside, but good overall player or Mysak (definitely a top-15, max top-20, player)), but I like the overall ranking, my friend!</div></div>
To me, Byfield isn't the clear cut number 2 like everyone has made him out to be. He's been less than stellar when playing against other high-end talents such as at the world juniors and the top prospects game. meanwhile, other players in those same games looked excellent. Granted Byfield wasn't getting heavy minutes at the juniors, but Stutzle, Holtz, Drysdale, Pytlik, and Mysak all did well with some of them also playing more limited side, and at the top prospects game I had to go looking for if Byfield was playing because he made little to no difference. Meanwhile, Rossi, Quinn, Foerster, and so many others jumped off the pages there.

2020 Team Canada World Juniors Final Roster Prediction
So far I'm pretty happy with my assumptions after the first cuts. Only one player I thought for sure would be on the team got cut in Thomas Harley. I thought he'd be guaranteed.
Hunter Jones I thought would get the backup role due to his Hockey Canada history, draft status, and the fact he won't be eligible for next year's world juniors.
With Jakob Pelletier being injured, I called Aidan Dudas being on the roster.
I'm not thinking Dach will be loaned, so I have to assume Dawson Mercer will be cut.
I do think Noah Dobson will be loaned, at which point Jamie Drysdale likely being the defenseman that gets cut.

November Mock Draft (2 FULL ROUNDS)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>At this point I can't imagine Drysdale or Perfetti getting picked ahead of Rossi.</div></div>
It's about who is generating chances for themselves. Perfetti is doing more overall, while Rossi is amazing, he does have better teammates around him with Keating, Garreffa, Hoefenmayer, and Bahl all feeding him is a big step up over Damien Giroux, Cole Coskey, and Ilya Solovyov. It wasn't even necessarily Rossi dropping as it was Stutzle rising.
I think Drysdale definitely goes before him as there will be a team needing defence priority and so far he's the consensus top d-man. Perfetti is looking like a better forward prospect at this point in my opinion. It's just an amazing draft this year.
As for Lafreniere vs Byfield. I think it's closer to 80/20 in favour of Lafreniere. He's definitely the best available, but if a team is desperate for a top centre such as say if Ottawa win's the lottery. I think they would take Byfield.

13th Forward isn't a scratch. All 20 skaters play in IIHF, such as how Lafreniere was the 13th Forward last year

Possibly. I think Rodrigue is the guaranteed goalie, but Hockey Canada is really high on Jones plus he won't be eligible for this tournament next year so I won't be shocked if he's given a chance for that reason.

Looking at this again after Tampa's latest signing. I gotta change the winner to Tampa. They get some cap room and sign Pat Maroon for cheaper than Erne's asking price, and get a 4th Round Pick.

The only real threat to that maybe is Sergachyov, so 800,000. Everyone else's performance bonuses combined including Sergachyov's is around 1.3M. SO yes, need to try and not retain any but not like its a huge amount like Toronto had to deal with this last year.

Adjusting for Shattenkirk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I saw a link with the GM of Tampa talking about the Condon trade. He went on record saying Dominque would be traded. Then he said he had faith in Condon long term and that injuries had derailed him. The plan was for Wedgewood (I believe it's him) and Condon would play in the AHL. I know things can change. Condon is costing the Tampa 1.2m in cap this year, so trading him as you suggest sure helps Tampa and their cap. Guess the problem with trading Condon is who wants a 2.5m AHLer at this year?</div></div>
Colorado or Columbus. As of right now those teams still don't have a solidified backup goalie. Colorado's number 2 being Pavel Francouz and Columbus with Elvis Merzliklins. Other potential options. Florida (If they don't yet trust Montembeault) or Toronto (if they don't like either Hutchinson or Neuvirth) I can see Domingue or Condon going to any of these teams. Tampa will likely try to move Condon first with the bigger cap hit, but he'll be harder to sell for that reason. With this current setup I have, Tampa could retain up to 800k of Condon's salary for this season.

Adjusting for Shattenkirk
I messed up the lines slightly.
I'd have it be:
Gourde - Stamkos - Kucherov
Killorn - Point - Johnson
Palat - Cirelli - Joseph
Martel - Paquette - Erne
Smith - Witkowski
Hedman - Cernak
McDonagh - Sergachyov
Coburn - Shattenkirk
Rutta
Vasilevskiy
McElhinney

Paquette's not getting longer than a year if he does resign. He's that 13th forward mould perfectly where he could just as easily be swapped with a top line guy from the AHL.
Your logic is sound but I can't see them moving off of Palat. Johnson definitely, but I don't think it'll be this season.

Even with retained salary, Tampa says no to that deal with a 7th Round Pick. He's too expensive and too fragile. Apparently, they've been talking to Buffalo about Ristolainen though. (That wouldn't make sense to me though)

From you that's funny. LOL. Bridge contracts are a thing still. A couple of players have absolutely ruined them for the league, but they're still a thing. This would be a win-win for both sides. Point would get a huge raise after this deal since the salary caps always rising, either from Tampa or another team on the UFA market, and Tampa gets to keep him on an arguably lower salary for a couple of seasons.

A team can't buy out a player and then resign him. No way Point is getting more than Kucherov. Especially with how much he slowed down in the 2nd half of the season and playoffs.
