its a great signing for Detroit who needs him so much. the ufa options out in the offseason are either going to cost to much like bob or varl or be worse than what we ave now like smith or Talbot. I cant imagine lehner gets away from the islanders.

For one year, it's fine. Not like they had any better options.

Yes you can, even if the player is retired.

I would have agreed 2 years ago, but with only 1 year left I don't see the point carrying that pain forward for another year. Especially with the health issues he, Daley, and Green all have.

Anderson is a great goaltender just needs an actual D core in front of him so that first trade would be a big mistake. The other 2 trades are delusional.

Oilers RNH
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wjdjdkf</b></div><div>So my reason was stacking the deal in EDM favor was AA in expiring deal. Provides cap relief for one year.
Can someone say what the deal might look like? Take out Kufner? Take out the picks? Is it AA for RNH straight up?</div></div>
Oliers would never go 1 for 1. I think removing one of the draft picks is about as low as they would go. I'm not sure I'd do it for more than 1 for1. I just don't think a deal can be done to make both teams happy.
No offense too Edmonton but they have been rebuilding or retooling for quite a while now and so has Buffalo. I their defense they have had trouble with impatience GMs trying to speed up the rebuild. I do think with Hitchcock will be able to turn things around.
AA is easily the most requested Red Wing in these mock trades. So to my fellow Wings fans how come just about everybody on this site can see he is going to be really good
and most Detroit fans are in a hurry. I'd love an explanation or the logic behind trading AA.
As a Detroit fan I think trading AA at this point it would a monumental mistake. It obvious that he is a true center by his stats while playing center. So I'd like to see what he could do coming into the season with the confidence he had at the end of the season and playing his natural position from from the start. I think he is going to have more goals and points than he did this season. Not just AA but with any trade Detroit makes starts trading multiple picks or prospects for vets, five years from now we will be in the same place arguing about the same stuff.

todays throw at the wall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jackr419</b></div><div>I really like the proposed trades! Gotta use that cap space to acquire some draft assets. I think the value is pretty good on all of them. I’m not sure I understand the decision to buy out Ericsson and sign Kronwall and Chiarot when I believe Ericsson only has a year or two left. Overall, nice mock!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMarch</b></div><div>I like the trades as well, but the TBL/DET trade is where you may see the Dman relief (and most likely be Daley). Tampa needs dmen (they'll need 3-4 this offseason), and only have $10mm in cap space total (they need to sign 6-7 players overall, including Point). You could slide Daley into that mix, maybe do some retention (taking back Callahan and retaining a $1-1.5mm on Daley), which would give them $6-7mm of cap relief. Maybe have TBL throw in another pick (or upgrade to a 1st). They then go to $17mm in space, with only 5-6 bodies to sign.
Also, I don't expect DET will buyout Ericcson. The cap crunch will be coming to them somewhat after next season, and a buyout will extend E's hit 2 seasons, when they'll need space for AA, Bert, and Mantha. If they are going to do anything with E, they'll bury him.</div></div>
yeah I tend to agree they probably float ericssson on the roster for his last season. Kronwall is kind of a mystery to me. honestly he played well enough that at cheap money getting him for deoth doesn't seem terrible. I like chariots game a lot. hes improved and isn't a bad guy back there. he probably slips threw the cracks for Winnipeg I hope and we benefit. at this point I dont have any faith in us developing dmen so id rather throw numbers at the issue.
