What do flyers fans think
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alekaka</b></div><div>You get rid of 7 million in cap from JVR to sign Johnny. You get Wood, Zacha and Foote. You're going to have to give up a piece for that 7 mill in cap space. Foote has potential for middle 6. I think the return is fair for both. I also think Wood and Zacha would thrive in Philly.</div></div>
no Guarantees that Johnny comes to Philly. If we have to dump JVR's contract, we arent moving Farabee for it. We already have too many middle 6 pieces. Farabee is a top 6 piece. They arent giving that up. A cost controlled 22 year old

Philly wouldnt do that, Farabee is a top 6 forward, and we dont need more middle 6 forwards. We need more higher end talent so it doesnt make sense

Realistic Moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>If the Leafs traded Nylander (which IMO Is a mistake) they would want to improve the quality of their team for the upcoming season. They definitely don't do that here. I'm not certain they're looking for prospects or draft picks (especially draft picks two years away, where a player may not be ready for the NHL until 2027ish). I am not going to say the value is horrible, I just don't think that deal works from the Leafs perspective.</div></div>
yeah thats fair, The thinking is that with more cap flexibility, and more trade capital allows them to go out and get lets say a #1 goalie, while also not downgrading a ton at the winger position.

Realistic Moves

Trading for Nylander 100% makes them more competitive. They get a dynamic winger that pair with a Selke Center. As well as a better threat on the PP that desperately needs more creativity on it. A better 2C than Hayes would be great, but I dont see any center out there that would be a good fit other than Kadri, who would cost too much

I can agree with that. I hope lindblom returns to the middle six, "little things done right" guy. I guess the Tatar is any X player that we need in the top 6

definitely not worth it for Philly. Losing a top prospect, a 1st, Ghost, and Farabee for just Gaudreau is something the flyers wouldnt do. They wouldnt trade Frost and Farabee

yeah flyers decline, they are trying to compete now. Sanhiem is one of their top defenseman going forward into the future. That trade doesnt improve the team now.

id rather see one of our rookies take that spot. We have atleast 1 person who can take the 3 RW spot. If not move Laughton to RW, and let Rubstov or Voro take the 4C spot

Some thoughts
Provy wont sign for that little, I think TK will get a mil more than that.
I dont see why we would want to get Milano when Lindblom can easily be a middle 6 forward. If anything JVR would probably be traded to recoup a 1st that we lost in Offersheeting Point. Laughton would be the 3 RW if anything, and then Raffl would be the 4 RW. Wouldnt make sense for Chicago to trade away a 2020 1st for a 2021 1st with only adding a 2021 3rd
We dont really need point .We have 4 centers that fill there Roles. Coots is a top 20 Centerman, and a top 3 two way center. Hayes is a great 2C, and Patrick with a more solid role is a great 3C that will continue to develop. Ontop of that we have Frost and Rubstov that are Centerman(Can switch to winger too) in our pipeline.

Realistic Flyers team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jakethesnake97</b></div><div>Frost and Farabee could make the jump this year?</div></div>
They could, its just it depends on what the management things did the best out of training camp. So its up in the air, I think it will be Rubstov and let Farabee and Frost adjust to the level. Frost biggest complaint is that he at the pace of the NHL yet, and will need to get used to the pace of the game compared to juniors. For Farabee its his size is the big worry.

congrats you made us worse, why trade away a young center prospect for more wingers, we dont need wingers, we got great depth on wingers. Giroux isnt playing Center, Coots is
RW depth is Voracek, TK, Hartman, 4th line
LW depth is Giroux, JVR, Lindblom, Raffl
C depth is Coots, hayes(if signed), Patrick, Laughton
we dont need to trade for a winger. Id rather keep Provorov than trade him for Trouba.
Sign talbot or elliot than going somewhere else to sing a goalie
Laughton and Hartman will be at most 2 mil I would assume. We dont need to sign Acciari, we have plenty of bottom 6 prospects that can fill that 4th RW hole(NAK comes to mind)
We would rather buy out MacDonald rather trade a decent prospect with him

Voracek-Subban deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GhostBear</b></div><div>I expect Frost and Farabee to be the first ones up and that will be 20-21 at the earliest maybe even longer. At that point, Connolly, Laughton & Hartman will have 2 yrs left at reasonable cap. Lemieux will have 1 left. Each would easily have the value to be traded for a pick/prospect. As for the 19-20 season, Connolly and Ferland are depth guys that can help a team get to the next level. The term is there because without it, you will likely not be able to sign them.</div></div>
Yeah it makes sense.

I like it, only concern is the long term deals for ferland and connely might put our prospects in a logjam, but im sure that we could trade them away to let them in if they earn the spot.
