2015 Draft - Under Cap Cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>"meh" bottom six, and two big question marks between the pipes. Solid squad, but I doubt they're a cup winner.</div></div>
Meh bottom six? Can you list me 3 teams with a better bottom six? Honestly curious... Tampa Bay this past year but they're bound to lose some here, Colorado not really, Boston no, Vegas no, StLouis no.
Yea the younger goalie subject stinks... That's why I went heavier on Defensive D, could've went with Werenski, Chabot instead but ...

No depth. Don't know if this team would make it out of the first round or even make the playoffs. It would be tight.

Depends on what else is being exposed for them... I think Managers will be a lot more hesitant to give plenty of picks up than the VGK draft. VGK stole players, along with picks... I mean Theodore and Tuch... come on lol.

Probably deHaan or Murphy with Murphy being the more suitable player here IMO.

Blackhawks Protect:
F: Kaner (NMC)
F: Tazer (NMC)
F: Cat
F: Strome (Unless Traded)
F: Wallmark (If extended)
F: Janmark (If extended)
F: Nylander (If extended)
D: Keith (NMC)
D: Seabrook (NMC)
D: Zadorov (if extended)
G: Delia OR Subban (Whoever plays better)
Exempt: Kubalik, Suter, Dach, Boqvist, Beaudin, Mitchell
Exposed: Shaw, Carpenter, Smith, Kampf, Pirri, deHaan, Murphy, Subban/Delia, Lankinen AND Seabrook if they convince him to waive the NMC to help the Hawks (IF Seattle would want to take them... I would assume it would take a higher pick 2nd round and mid-level prospect in order for them to eat that contract...

Yeah, Hughes is great but he makes more sense on the 2nd pair when you have Ekholm + Ellis</div></div>
Don't have to play together for this challenge... just be on the same team... And I agree, that would 100% be the top pairing, but for this challenge to make sense the colours had to match the slots where the goalies are... if that makes sense. Orange to Orange (Philly and Anaheim (Sort of LOL)) and Blue to Blue (Buf to Van)

Calder Snubs vs Calder Winners
Technically some of these guys shouldn't even be considered a "Snub"... They weren't good enough in their Rookie Seasons to even be a "Calder Nominee".
- Heiskanen was 4th in voting behind Pettersson, Binnington and Dahlin. (2019)
- McAvoy was 5th in voting behind Barzal, Boeser, Connor and Keller. (2018)
- Aho was 8th in voting (2017)
- McDavid was 3rd in voting but also missed half the year. (2016)
- Jones one is laughable that he's even considered a snub to MacKinnon, finishing 11th in voting (2014)
- Tarasenko wasn't good in his rookie year, only 12th in voting (2013)
- Couturier was 9th in voting (2012)
- Hall was 8th in voting, biggest snub this year was Corey Crawford (2011)
- Hedman was 9th in voting, Rask or Howard were snubbed here... (2010)
- Stamkos was 9th in voting and was benched a few times... Mason was sick (2009)
At least pick the guys for snubs that were top 3 in voting in their rookie seasons... otherwise, are they really considered to be Calder "Snubs"...

Please read the description... this is not my team... this is solely a list of the players that have been voted on the most since 2000 in regards to: Hart Trophy (Forwards), Norris Trophy (Defence) and Vezina (Goalies).
Draisaitl won a Hart Trophy this past season and was good the season prior... those numbers pushed him ahead of Kopitar, Bergeron, Toews, Etc... who have not won or were rarely in the top three.
Brodeur, Price and Luongo were all solid for long periods of time and garnered more votes than Lundqvist or Hasek from 2000-2020. Hasek missed a bunch of votes from pre-2000.
Perry won the Hart, pushing his numbers above those of Stammer, although I would never put Perry ahead of Stammer.

Yea, Vegas isn't going to do that. That guy is the beating heart at the bottom end of their lineup... so much value that goes un-noticed on the scoresheet.
I don't mind that Acciari - Kerfoot one.. I think they are similar types (based on last season) but for a cheaper price tag. However, if the Leafs can get Avalanche Kerfoot going... he's worth it.

Roster Musings
The problem is not the lineup, which is in fact riddled with holes... but the goaltending. How did we not pick up a goalie at some point along the way. If we had an NHL proven competent netminder... we would at least be in a fight for a playoff spot... as it sits, the offence will find enough ways to win to send us into an endless purgatory of mid-1st picks until the core retires... not looking forward to these next few years.

You have Kaprizov coming too... Can see the Leafs trading Tavares or Marner before Nylander simply because he takes up less Cap Space... but not in this deal.

Top 10 in 2025-26
Hi All,
I am currently gathering research to write an article about hockey fans thoughts and predictions on who the TOP TEN(10) OVERALL NHL PLAYERS will be in the 2025/26 season. These players can be forwards, defence or goalies. This is not based on offensive stats predictions, this is based off the best overall hockey players 5-6 years from now.
Please help me out by commenting your list (IN ORDER) below and it will be added into the article, which I will post on this thread once it is completed mid-May.
Thank you for your comment.

OK, not sure how being -41, while having more than 100 points in that same stretch isn't a valid reason but fine, I will dive deeper.
His SAT% (aka Corsi) is 46.77% over that same stretch... He has 202 Giveaways to 42 takeaways... I could continue but I think I am proving my point... He is not the same Doughty as he was even in the last World Cup of Hockey in 2016. He has regressed each year and he is continuing to regress into this season.
