bye bye bura and sammy

As for bura I would rather trade him to buffalo for nylander. Bura nhl numbers mirror his ahl numbers. Backstrom could mentor him</div></div>
Sounds good. i just think the caps would do well to move bura out for cap space (kinda like orpik deal but at the deadline for cup run) and give a real good prospect and roster player for that 3rd line left/right wing (since connolly can play either side) and make the top 9 deadly this year.

bye bye bura and sammy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JayBeagleFanAccount</b></div><div>no god please this makes me want to DIE. Trading the 2nd best goalie prospect for scraps oooooooooooooof</div></div>
ok I replaced malgin with vatrano. But Bjugs is a 15 to 20+ goal scorer under contract for 3 years. This is a top 6 to top 9 kinda player for a goalie and project and a salary dump no? i add bura to every trade because we need to dump him as we need room and money cleared for next years signings. it seems quite clear when we add bura to every trade that he's seen as a negative or a minus so i am making that up by offering more to offset that.

There's also the possibility that we sign Holtby long term again. The Caps don't just move out top players like the pens or chicago did when they were on top. Bmac might do all he can to resign holtby long term even if it means moving a niskanen or oshie etc. holtby is a top 5 goalie easy and has won a stanley cup, you don't just move on from him...

Couple of changes for the cup run - moves with Canes and Kings
'If the Caps could trade him for 21 year old Toffoli with the 14 points in 26 games, sure, maybe, that's pretty reasonable. But Toffoli will be a UFA at the end of the season, so they end up with just a rental and then nothing. Burakovsky will be an RFA, so they can play him, be just as likely to get a big playoff performance from him as from Toffoli, and then sign him or trade him.'
Toffoli's contract runs through '19 / '20.

TDL toffoli
If you can get him w/o the 1st rounder being given, great. But Toffoli in the 4 seasons prior has been a 20+ goal scorer (who we thought B was). he's having a down year because the kings are all down. Bura has always been Meh.

ferland
i figure Carolina would like a prospect of some kind and Bura's year pretty much makes him a pretty useless and expensive player right now and i see him as a salary dump to be honest. We could then probably resign Feland and Vrana by dumping Bura's contract anyway. maybe they give us a 2nd rounder or add another of their players but i think trading Bura will be like trading Orpik (who i like) but he is perceived as old and expensive. Bura right now is not producing at all and expensive. Teams aren't going to give that much for him.

tdl with Leafs and Capitols and NYI
i'm one who's in the Caps minority who changed his mind recently and thinks Orpik shouldn't be bought out. i don't think it's worth giviing up a 1st round pick for. he might get beat by speed here and there, but he hurts people and can clear the crease. The others on the D either won't or can't do that well or often.

no one should ever trade for Ryan Spooner. he is nothing special in everyway. no one in Boston likes his play.

yes, but Caps shouldn't pay 4+ million after the year to keep a 3rd line center. i do like him and hope he can stay but maybe Stephenson or someone could take his place next year...

Grubi was a 3rd round pick and to get a 2nd for him is fine to me. need to draft multiple players in this draft which they say is pretty good this year...

not giving up on team but on this year's version. Can't see a way to properly replace Carlson, so might as well keep him.

Domi rethought
i would just try and get Domi personally. i think Orpik has his share of gaffes but so have every other of the Caps D men this year they've been a siv.

honestly don't think that's bad. good to shore up defense for the playoff run and you don't give up barely anything. Better than maybe going 'all in' like last year.

Good thoughts on this effort of yours. i'd nix the arizona and buffalo trades though. this year and next years drafts would look pretty pitiful...again...

Random Anaheim Trade
i like the carolina trade. i think i've changed my mind on any trading of grubauer, he's pretty important to this team when holtby has the occasional turd and vanacek and copley would make me nervous as the backup, even next year.
