I dont see how he gets a first to be honest. 21 points in 36 games and on an expiring deal does equal first round pick

Salomonsson shouldnt be going anywhere. I like JC but with only one more year it doesnt make sense to deal a D that is team controlled and has a high upside

Maybe, but the Sabres need a shake up some how. Pretty terrible run for the franchise. Longest playoff draught and it'll be tough for them to end that this year. This deal makes more sense for the jets for sure, plus the Schmitt add doesnt make sense at this time. Like someone said above, probably figure that out next year.

Jets dont need to add any D man, so the MTL deal doesnt make sense.
Target a 2C not named Monahan.
I would love that Calgary trade especially with the extension but i doubt it happens like that

That's not how that works though, outside of the FO%. Monahan is a good stats/bad team guy. Someone has to score...someone has to play top PP.

True but they are in cap hell and need to figure out some sort of relief. Not saying it has to be Cirelli, but 2 seasons from now his NTC kicks in so maybe they try to get a head of it??

TDL Jets
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mynameisliang_</b></div><div>See, this is the type of constructive comment that I'm looking for, lol. I think that with the retention, the Jets would seriously consider doing Lucius, Heinola, a 1st and the other two. Stanley doesnt actually have value to us, we just need him off our books to make the money work this year. From the Jets' perspective, Cirelli becomes a 2C this year, and probably next year, then in year 3 is our 3C behind Scheifele and Lambert, with Lowry as 4C and it all sort of works at cirelli for 5.25m but becomes hard to fit at a higher number. If Tampa would consider retaining if the Jets make the offer worth it, I think there's a chance for this to work for both sides. Tampa would clear 5.25m in cap space and return three cost-controlled assets (heinola, lucius and the 1st), then a couple of reclamation projects who might be cheap depth as early as next year.</div></div>
This is the type of deal i want Chevy to make. if he's giving up 1st and top prospects then I wanna see a legit player with term.
I don't see any retention on that type of deal, just doesn't happen often
This is my list of C's I like
Brayden Schenn-long term deal into his late 30's and has a NTC and is the blues captain so probably not available. Ive always liked his gritty game
Buchnevich- probably available, 1 year left after this year, but doesn't really play C a whole lot
Boone Jenner-probably not available but another gritty guy that would fit the jets
Scott Laughton-probably more of a 3C, but he could definitely slide in on the 2nd line. Does everything well.
Kuzenetsov- definitely available as he's struggled the last couple of years. Big contract with one more year, but they might retain. Used to play in all situation and was a skilled top 6 C a couple years ago. I would be hesitant to trade for him, but maybe a change of scenery.
Josh Norris-saw a couple posts about him being available. I highly doubt he is and he definitely shouldn't be IMO. Still...he'd be the 2C for years to come

Lots of comments up there that Im just gonna bypass.
Savard isnt worth that much and you habs fans know it. That 2nd rounder is gonna be high and more valuable then 2 years of a dman the jets don't need. Plus Barron is an underrated versatile F
The value for Lindholm is probably close if not less than the flames would get. It'll be a bidding war and a team will overpay big time

I see where you are going with this deal. Jets could use a 2C locked up for multiple years and the bolts need to get younger and add some picks.
I like it for the jets, but I think he costs more than that. You'd probably have to replace Stanley with Heinola

TDL ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Windjammer</b></div><div>Lindholm - obviously the one to pursue here. Probably too much to acquire though due to competition for his services.
Monahan - not an improvement over anything the Jets already have. Bad fit for the Jets. Not good enough offensively for the top 6, not good enough defensively for the bottom 6. The Jets are playing well and shouldn't go out of their way to mess with their lineup to add an inconsequential player.
Granlund - not an improvement over anything the Jets already have.
Schmaltz - Won't be available imo.
Henrique - why bother.
Hopefully of Chevy is thinking of adding, he's looking at guys none of us think are available.</div></div>
I disagree about Monahan and Grandlund not being an upgrade. Either one could supplant Nameskiov as the 2C (at times), but either could be really good 4th liners with PP time.
The more I think about it, the more i want Chevvy to go big game hunting on a 2C. Not sure who, Lindholm perhaps, but preferably someone with term if they have to give up such so much

You can't have Nino and he's worth more than a 3rd anyways. Jets paid a 2nd for him last year with a year on his contract, then reupped him at the same AAV for 3 more years based on how important he is

Jets Extend The Two DillonDylans
I like both players, but if they bring both back it just clogs the runway for younger players who are ready or close to ready for regular NHL minutes.
If i had to pick one, i would resign DeMelo. His play with Morrisey shows how valuable he is. He's 30 now so i think a 3 year deal makes sense. Dillon is a little older but Samberg could slide into his spot.

Now nobody would argue that Lindholm is not worth at least a first as a rental.</div></div>
