marino alone does not get you drouin. despite many fans negative feelings towards drouin, he'll instantly become a ppg on the pens. habs arent't trading him for scraps. plus hes a right shot. we don't need right shots. adding a 1st and struble is just an insult. theres a 1 year age diff between marino and drouin. not a good trade for the habs dude.</div></div>

Thread:
Drouin
No offence, but this might be one of the worst ACGM's I've seen - take this for constructive criticism and not insulting.
First of, you can't "heavily front-load Ovechkin's deal. There's parameters that it's needs to be structured within. And I believe the last season's salary can't dip below 10% of the total value of the contact. That would mean that the last season of the deal you offered can't fall below $4.8M in total salary. You're going to have a hard time "heavily front-loading" a deal if your last season can't dip below that much.
Now the trade. Honestly, it's just awful. Kotkaniemi has proven to be a legitimate playoff performer which means there's potential there for him to be a dominant centre all year round. His value is already substantially more than Kuznetsov's. Drouin also isn't a negative value asset right now. He's been plagued by injury and mental health issues over the last 2 seasons, but again he's proven to be a playoff performer and in the regular season he's a 50 point player. At only $5.5M AAV, that's a relatively fair deal for him. Might be slightly overpaid but not by much. Kuznetsov is a declining asset with multiple off-ice (drugs) issues. He's overpaid for what he produces, and his only good playoff performance (mind you it was exceptional) was the year they won the cup. But that was 4 seasons ago. He's more of a negative asset than Drouin would be and even Kuznetsov isn't a negative asset.
Honestly, Montreal doesn't really need a centre with Kotkaniemi and Suzuki already being there long term (although Suzuki may be better suited for the wing) but they can draft and develop a centre if they choose to move Suzuki to the wing instead of giving up Kotkaniemi for no reason.
So I apologize if this comes off as harsh, but this is awful. Needs a lot of work actually.

LA what about this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kingsfaninSD</b></div><div>Kings wouldn't want that headache either.</div></div>
Fair enough, though I am not sure he's a headache. He's really much more of a heartache because he leaves you wanting more. He's immensely talented, but things never quite seemed to click easily. When he's on, he's awesome. When he gets up inside his head, he's his own worst enemy. He never hurt the Habs, but he just was never fully there when they needed him most. As I said, heartache.

LA what about this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kingsfaninSD</b></div><div>Kings decline. They are better off with the 8th oa. There are going to better options for the Kings.</div></div>
I think everything hinges on what is revealed about Drouin's departure from the Habs. If he is somehow physically or mentally disabled enough to miss the entire playoffs, it would be reckless mismanagement for the LAK to risk this. If, however, we find out that Drouin simply told Marc Bergevin and DD that he wants out of the pressure cooker in Montreal and asked for a trade — and the Habs are sitting him because they have already negotiated something decent with, say, Seattle — it could make sense. L.A. is closer to being competitive than a lot of people give it credit for being.

Thread:
Heres what could happen if Weber retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Hard to say. It's not viable comparison on moving bad contracts because that is not a contract move. It's NSH correcting their former mistakes. We have no precedent on cap recapture deals. Still, taking a contract in is a hindrance that will cost something as it helps the other team, but in this case, moving a retired player doesn't do sh*t for the Habs. That is a major difference.
And actually depending on that pick the price could be great. Should the pick be high and NSH could draft highly potential player, that player would very well stay cost controlled throughout the recapture penalty. Something very valuable.
Actually I don't think he did. Cap recapture penalty was not a thing when they made that trade. It proved itself imminent more after Luongo's retirement. I think if Poile had the knowledge earlier about what kind of problems it could lead to, he never would've traded the guy.</div></div>
Yes Poile knew about the cap recapture penalty, the risk was even bigger before the Luongo things happen. They changed it like Math explained in the description. But Poile was awarded of the risk, that’s a fact, I’m sorry

Lets do this one more time
Put Drouin with McJesus and you'll see why this makes sense. Oiler fans arent clueing in to the fact that they need to win now while both superstars are in their prime. Drouin long term wont be as good as Holloway we assume but he can be a top line LW on that team. Now add in the cap room you just saved to sign another top line winger and now you're cooking with gas. Or stay the course and wait until the Neal contract is up and wait until Holloway is ready to make an impact. The former makes more sense If I was an oilers fan

Lines after Scheifele gets suspended for a clean hit
Get smart.
It can't be a "clean" hit when it's charging. No "legal hit" comes with a penalty.
And if charging was legal, Anderson would explode anyone coming out from behind the net on dumps and chases. But he is a grown up, not a baby with a tantrum. So he doesn't do it.

Dude I see you on every post, bashing everything related to the Canadiens. It was Caufield and now it's Bergevin. It just shows that you're very biased. You're literally a Canucks fan, defending one of the very worst GMs in the league all the time.
All the moves that <a href="/users/math731" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@math731</a> pointed out are insane moves that should rank him at least top 10. Romanov is a rookie with only 30 games under his belt and he's a bona-fide #6? lmao.

Armia could get you some bottom six scoring and Lehkonen is fast and defensive. Great. So what should we do to get on the same level offensively as Ottawa. The team is outscored by every team in the Canadian division minus Vancouver. It’s not going to be any better in the playoffs. Caufield needs to come up and be solid right off the bat of the Habs want a waking chance. Price can’t score goals.</div></div>
Danault is literally one of the best defensive forwards in the league. You're moving all of this for a dude who is worse than Drouin to be a walmart drouin.
