Friedman said that they might entertain the idea of trading him because of Ersson and because they dont want to potentialy waste Hart's best years (if there are still any) in a long rebuild

The flyers won't give up their first round pick because of how bad they have been this year. Philly would just get worse with this trade. This is a deal Chuck Fletcher would make.</div></div>
Hart hasnt been great since the MTL series. I certainly think that he still has the potential (and I certainly like the idea of him receiving the Dach treatment here in MTL), but you can't come here and say hes one of the best goalies in the league lmao. The value is great here, and you're not trading your pick completely, you move down 4 ranks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caufield</b></div><div>A.) Benson isn't dropping 8th

Benson is hurt and might miss the rest of the year (unfortunately). And when you look at multiple scouting lists (ex : Pronman), he's often outside the top 8 even top 10. I agree that hes awesome tho (thats why I want him) but smaller players tend to drop a bit.
I get that Mailloux is promising, but we're also getting Hart back (who's still has tons of potential). Heres how I see the value :
Hart = Mailloux, Kidney + half of Dvorak (probably = 2nd rd pick).
8th OA = 12th + 36th + half of Dvorak (= 2nd rd pick).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>Also a heavy need for MTL, why rob Peter to pay Paul?</div></div>
With Guhle, Harris and Xhjekaj who all played a bit at RHD this year and with guys like Mailloux, Hutson and Engstrom (+ probably a Dmen taken in the 1st rd this year), I feel like it hurts less to lose Barron if it means we get our future starter.

3-way MTL NAS VAN
NAS gets a 1C which they can sign long term afterwards and a top 6 W for quite cheap. Plus, they get rid of Johansen's contract.
VAN basically gets Fabbro for Boeser and some solid assets for Horvat while not taking any huge cap back.
MTL accept Johansen's rough contract and also gives a first and a top RHD prospect (need for VAN) for their future starter in Askarov (less needed by NAS who has a young Saros).

Askarov on draft day

Askarov is Nashville’s future and is performing very well in the AHL. He is still valued as an 11IA pick and Poile loves him. This package wouldn’t be worthy 11OA, much less Nashville’s future stud goalie</div></div>
How is a 13th OA pick and Dvorak not worth the 11th OA pick in a lesser draft? I get it if you want to keep him but dont come and say this package isnt at least equivalent to 11th OA

Id say replace Pitlick with Evans, just because hes a much better player that NYR could actually use. Maybe add another high potential guy like Kidney

Kent Hughes for the cup
I see EDM as the most likely spot for Edmundson considering their need for D and the fact that hes from there. As for Anderson, CGY and DAL seems like the most likely destination as first, they need him, and second, they have some bad contracts that they could trade back to make the money works.
In DAL, Id really like someone like Stankoven to be involved in any deal for Anderson. Maybe something like Gurianov and Faksa (both money wise) + Stankoven FOR Anderson?
And I cant really see Hughes trading Edmundson for less than a first considering his good contract and value that he brings on and off the ice for our young team. So maybe something like Foegele and a first (top 10 protect) 2023 for Edmundson. I wonder if theyd be interested in something like Holloway for Edmundson and a guy like Evans (as they need that bottom 6 RHC guy).

Anderson would cost something like a first and Dufour (+ any cap dump to make the money work). Try something like Bailey, Dufour and a top 10 protect 2023 first for Anderson and a 3rd

But I am ready to revise my proposal upwards. For example, Pulujärvi + Rodrigue + Tullio</div></div>
They gave the 13th OA pick… Not a mere first pick lol

Tons of teams are calling for Anderson according to insiders. Based on what MTL got for Toffoli theres no doubt one of Pelletier or Coronato has to be included.

Mantha got a 1st + 2nd + Vrana + Panik (cap dump) equating that here Anderson for Halloway (Vrana) + 1st (1st) + Barrie (2nd + 3rd) + Kassian (larger cap dump). Montreal shouldn't need to add Mysak and a 2nd IF you are modeling after the Mantha trade.</div></div>
Holloway is worth more than Vrana at the time of the trade and that 2023 first is precious af imo

Probably around 20%. Half half with Juraj. And thats taking into consideration Wrights name and status: what I mean by that is that if it wasnt for his exceptionnal status and past U18 WJC and 16yo season, scouts wouldnt be so scared to bet against him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonh514</b></div><div>I see this a lot. The USHL and the OHL are vastly different leagues. USHL is feeder league for the NCAA and the OHL. Cooley would not have scored as much in the OHL IMO. Don't think his game will translate as well to the NHL as well because of his size. I would not draft Cooley... He's still too much of a project.</div></div>
His size? He's 5'10 almost 5'11. And the UNTDP plays half their games against NCAA teams... Cooley against the 17-20 yo kid in the OHL probably would have had a 110pts+ season. Hes got everything to succeed and actually showed that he deserved to be 1st OA this year (contrarily to Wright who's been underwhelming to say the least, so much that now only 60% of the scouts have him at number one according to Bob McKenzie's info)
