this might be a bit rich i can see 2 of the 3 player going but not all 3 This trade does set the jets up for the future and allows Col a good chance at the cup this year

I gotcha dude. Thanks for the reply.

not sure we want bobby or zach be nice to lock up Pionk but i think your a little light on the deal think it has to be 6 who knows maybe he like the peg and gives them a hometown discount for term not sure of the lines or pairings as well

That trade solves a potential cap issue while not creating new lineup holes. Legitimate enough for the league to be ok with it too.

If it means guaranteeing getting a guy like Rossi or Perfetti or Drysdale then yes.

i like ROS but to move up to get the C would be big time i don't think you get the RHD at 6 though i think he goes @ 5 to OTT

Soucy will stay in MIN, better chance at dillon. Also I’d take DeMelo over tanev any day, DeMelo isn’t injury prone and younger.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Samberg and Heinola are going to give the 3rd pairing LD a run for their money as they both could make the roster. It really is unfortunate that wpg has to deal with essentially another Dustin byfuglien situation in terms of having to save sufficient cap space until wpg knows what little will do. I believe it is highly unlikely he will return to play but they can’t make any moves until they’re 100% sure. Jets would be better off signing Dillon and DeMelo, along with haula to patch some of their holes</div></div>

true but until we know LITTLE'S status the jets are virtually handicapped especially if he wants to play, so we have to assume that the jets have to keep 5m under the cap or hope he is willing to stay LTIR for the year or retires

but you might make the playoffs you saber fans over rate your players be nice not to see Jack play a playoff game

this trade was because you get 2 that can play right now and still draft in the top 10 and allows Adams a chance to evaluate the prospects and not having to rush a player to the NHL like they did with Mittelstadt and who knows maybe actually make the playoffs

So your argument for not accepting this deal is because the organization is bad at drafting? Maybe they should try harder
Miller's value IMO is a 2nd or 3rd rounder
Frolik's value 3-4th rounder maybe
I think this is a good offer from the jets

Cap Solution- reward good drafting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>battadan</b></div><div>i was using those as examples. UFA will always get paid above market. i don't see anyway around that. you didn't really address the question. do you like the framework of the idea? if not any solution you have?
i just hate that every hockey conversation starts, and mostly ends with how much a player is paid. it should be about how great of hockey players they are. Hossa for example. i don't care what his cap hit is, he was amazing to have on the hawks (i'm a hawk fan). if teams had a discount on their draft picks that free's up money to get difference makers in trade, or UFA. i'm jus tover the salary cap. it only helps 10-15 gm stay relevant.</div></div>
Hard cap keeps the SMALL market teams relevant. Thats the whole point of the salary cap, i think its 100% fine the way it is. I see no problems with the way the cap is structured. Hossa was a fantastic player. I loved hossa, wish he was a bruins instead of a hawk. But its a guaranteed contract, if you dont want a cap problem dont sign the player to a term that you cant live with. 5 years was too much for david backes. EVERYONE except i guess the bruins front office knew that. But again, they knew they were going to have cap problems when tavares matthews and nylander were signed for a combined almost 30m. add in marner wanting $$ and now almost half your team is making crazy money.

Marner offer sheeted and matched now what
The Toronto hockey media goes nuts. Social media gets crazy, likely toxic.. The relationship between Marner and the leafs and leafs nation goes south. He'd play for the leafs for a year and then he's traded.
That would be my guess in response to "now what?"

They trade Brown sign 3 low end D-man and likely miss the playoffs next season, because Mon, Philly, Buff, Flo , N.Y.I and Car all improve and wait till the 2nd round to make their 1st pick in the draft.
