you get his signing rights in the offseason he is still capable of getting points you bring him back on a 1 yr 750k if he believes in the team and the future and we make a deep run this off season.

its one year left on the deal. the retention makes 0 difference it resets at the draft. They arent adding to their roster. Look at the Eric Staal trade.

Gourde is one of the hardest centres to play against in the league. I think that the second can be a third with a contingency on the rangers making the playoffs . Secondly Chytil doesnt fit on this team. He is not an NHL centre. He is a winger who was forced to play centre and this team as far too many young wingers he is expendable. The fleury trade makes perfect sense they are far above the cap and cant pay him. They just signed petro which makes schmidt expendable. The AVS are right there and would kill for a stanley cup winning tender.

I agree I think theres such a sour taste in the mouth of JP right now. I think regardless of his line combo hes going to want out. You're right however the guys been on a tear an LA hasnt shown any sign of being able to be a difference maker in the NHL and the Oilers are deep at centere. Ill edit the trade and through in a future 2nd. There is an overlook on the potential gross has hes a great puck moving defenseman.
