I think the Coloardo trade might actually make sense. It's basically Byram and Jost for like Kreider and Seider. I'd probably prefer Kaut, but it's like fine?</div></div>
From what I've been seeing lately, looks like most mocks have Byram at 3 now. So more likely to be Turcotte, Cozens, Zegras, etc. I don't think Avs make that trade anyway. I think WalterT's trade is more realistic.

Karlsson
I personally wouldn't go after Karlsson. He dropped down to 24G, 56 Pts, +1 from 43G, 78 Pts, +49. He's a good player, but just hasn't proven consistent enough for me to give all those picks and money for him.

I think you should get more for taking on Callahan. Definitely get the 1st and another prospect if we're giving back their 2nd. If we can give them a lower pick back, I'd be fine with just the 1st.

Trade with the Jets not trouba lol
Instead 6 years of Ehlers at 6M, I'd rather just sign Kreider for 5 or 6 years at 6.5 - 7M.
This team still leaves a lot to be desired though. No big name F or D pick up. I'd be more ok not getting Trouba, but missing Panarin would hurt. We could go all in on Hall next year, or maybe pick up Hoffman as a consolation, but I do feel like we need another scoring winger.

Next Season
Buch should be on a deal closer to 5x4.5 - 5. Tony D I'd try to do 4x3.75, but I'd be fine with your deal. Lemieux gets a bit more money than that, but I like a 2 yr deal.
Don't sign Dzingal, trade Namestnikov, I don't see Strome getting 2 3rds unless it's at the TDL and he's had another solid year to that point

Huge Changes
You way underpaid our RFAs. Get rid of the Tampa deal, send Namestnikov out west with less or no money retained and you'll be able to properly pay our players. Probably can avoid the Staal buyout too, which sets us up better for the future.
Also, that MTL deal is brutal. You're basically giving away Georgiev, who's a potential NHL starter, for a bag of pucks.

NYI don't need Shatty and retaining 850k on that deal is chump change. You're not getting a more than a single 3rd for Namestnikov, regardless of retaining salary and adding a late round garbage pick.
Trouba will get closer to 8M. Connolly on the 1st line... no thanks

The Leafs trade doesn't make sense for them because they need young, cost controlled players. They're going to be in real cap trouble.
For Vesey, I'd rather just take back picks. We don't need EDM spare parts.

Hartford roster and lines
It's funny how I'm so excited about all the solid prospects the Rangers have, and Hartford still looks this bad lol. All of our best prospects (besides Shesty) are going to be with the big club; Kakko/Hughes, Kravtsov, Chytil, Fox, Hajek, etc.
Judging these lines, the defense is young, but there's potential there. Shesty is hopefully great in net, but that forward group is brutal. Unless we trade up, we're not getting Caufield, and whoever we do draft at #20 probably doesn't start next year in the AHL. There's not 1 forward there who projects as a top 6 player in the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Leafs can afford to retain 3 mil and sign Marner? Leafs were vocally interested in Kreider at deadline so there's your want. The cost is 6-7 mil which is Marleau so yes you can afford it. Why does Kreider do it? To win a cup right now. He is very valuable but we're a team that wants to win a cup in 3 seasons not next year like you guys.
<strong>Is that way too much for Butcher?</strong> I can give less. I think Butcher is very valuable.</div></div>
In my opinion, that's an enormous overpay for Butcher. Lemieux, a mid round pick, and maybe something other throw in would be enough. The Rangers wouldn't make that trade anyway. Butcher doesn't add enough value to the team.

LD: Skjei, Staal, Smith, Claesson, Hajek, Lindgren, Miller, Reunanen, Rykov, Gilmour, Day, Crawley, Bigras, and a number of other draft picks of ours
RD: Shatty, DeAngelo, Fox, Pionk, Lundkvist, Keane, Raddysh

This is too much from a Rangers perspective; too many top prospects from our squad. Yea, MacKinnon is a fantastic player, but you just set back the rebuild at least 3 years.

I don't think Vlad has enough value/interest from COL to move us up. Last year it took a 2nd rounder for us to move up 4 spots from 26 to 22.

Draft Kaliyev with the Canucks' pick, Flip Tanev for another pick, trade Kreider since Kaliyev will eventually replace him, sign Panarin

always next year
Fox and Trouba deals look fair to me. Shatty, Smith, and Namestnikov are all overpays and the other team wouldn't do it. We'd be lucky if anyone would take Smith for a bag of pucks.
On 5 year deals, Buch and Tony D would need more money. I'd think the deals would be closer to 5x5M and 4x3.75M. I think Lemieux gets a bridge deal, something around 2x2M.
Finally, there's no need to bring Brassard back. His play won't translate well as a 4C. We can use Boo, one of our other AHLers, or a UFA and it'd be much cheaper.

The Adam Fox Route
If giving up a 3rd for peace of mind knowing that we'll get Fox, I'd do it a heartbeat.
I like the roster here, but I'd lock up Tony D longer term. Maybe he'd go for 4 years at 3.75M or around that number. He only has 1 good season, so he won't have much leverage, but he's been trending in the right direction all year. Quinn has done wonders for him and he looks like a legit 2nd pairing guy with 50+ point potential.

2021-22 Rangers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lamar1226</b></div><div>I have something similar looking in my AGM's with Trouba instead of Fox and Pionk included. I always give Panarin around 10 mil for a contract and I cant understand why. I think at the most he should get 8.5-9 but the consensus around here is he will be getting upwards of 10. He is great but sometimes I think the Rangers should avoid signing him and start putting all their efforts into drafting high end homegrown talent instead of relying on FA like we always do, especially at our current juncture. It seems to almost always turn out poorly for us i.e. Richards, Shatty, Redden, Boyle, Yandle, etc...</div></div>
If we sign Panarin, he immediately becomes the best offensive player in the organization. He's 27, so right in his prime, and we should expect at least about 4 years of top level production. There's for sure a risk of him not playing up to his contract, but I think it's worth taking.
The other signings you mentioned, it's true that they didn't/haven't worked out, to varying degrees (except Yandle who I think played quite well for us. 47 pts in his full season despite poor usage by AV). Richards was serviceable, but was already 31 when we signed him. Shatty was injured and been unlucky, but this year has been pretty solid defensively at least. Redden and Boyle were dumpster fires.
