Unlikely that any UFA RHD other than Miller or Pysyk would sign with the Sabres, so maybe management will resign them.
Similar with RW, Tuch, Okposo are signed with one really good prospect Quinn and one likely NHL player Peterka, so it would make sense to sign Hinostroza.
Considering Vinnie has a good relationship with Granato and has played really wel, he may also sign with the Sabres.
I see no reason to resign Butcher or Eakin.
On the other hand Anderson may want to mentor Luukkonen, he is certainly respected by all of his team mates.
Who knows. We do not know how Pegula will mess with the team.
I was deeply disappointed with the TDL.

How does Dermott rate a third and Hagg only a sixth.
Why accept only a 6th for Hagg 24 hours before the end of the TDL?

My guess is butcher gets waived for power and Fitzgerald goes to ahl for Johnson assuming that's how you get him to sign

You mean with a season that saw every single Habs player other than Suzuki miss time due to injury or covid, plus having DD as a coach! Yeah that makes total sense! His value is not going to be "down" as much as you believe. Other GM's see this season as an outlier for the Habs just look at what we got for Chiarot as proof.
Edit** And oh BTW he still has more points than Mitts this season even if you pro rate Mitts points to the same number of games played!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikeyscav</b></div><div>How do you feel about Schultz or Braun? Schultz is a more offensive damn and we’ve seen Dahlin play well with that even this year with Bryson. Braun would be a vet defensive guy who could take the Power mentor role</div></div>
I like Braun idea to play with Power, he plays decent defensively and can play a physical game. Schultz no, he's terrible on defense and I don't want a guy playing next to Dahlin who can't play defense. Bryson plays better defensively than Schultz and is quick enough to fly all over ice. As a last resort, we can connect Dahlin with Bryson again if Adams can't find another RD. One of the things I don't like about Dahlin - Jokiharju pairing is that Joki seems to play too aggressively and doesn't have time to come back from the attack, so we often see the situation where Dahlin has to defend 2 on 1 or 1 on 1, this should not be. Probably would have preferred a more defensive partner with Dahlin, or a versatile one. who plays a calm and safe game, which cannot be said about Jokiharju.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikeyscav</b></div><div>I agree RHD and goalies are a need. I just think a defensive C is as well. Fitz is more of an experiment with Dahlin for the rest of season and Joki has played well in the past with defensive defensemen so that’s why I want him to be tried with Samuelsson</div></div>
I do not find anything special in Dvorak to pay such a price for him. Mitts has had an injury ruined season and I haven't given up on him yet unless it's the right deal. Maybe we really need a decent 3C, but not at this price, especially if our problems with RD and goalie are still not resolved. Samuelsson - Jokiharju makes a lot of sense, but then we need to find partners for Power and Dahlin. A guy like Copp would probably be a great signing for UFA.

Montreal would want the Vegas' pick since the Cats pick is probably 31 or 32. Otherwise the deal is fine.

Address Some Holes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikeyscav</b></div><div>Wild deal is just me trying to play with other goalie options. But understandable
Strome I think could be a stronger center that’s a couple years ahead of the current core like Tuch is. Young enough to be around for a while and be more steady veteran presence for the next wave coming up. Good as well
Idk what else you get for Olofsson, I just don’t see his high value everyone else seems to see. Getting a vet top-6, solid defensive prospect, and a pick should be more than enough</div></div>
Probably replace Kahkonen with Talbot and it would look realistic.
I just think Strome is not the type of player that Buffalo and Granato need, not the type of center. Probably a player like Andrew Copp would make a lot more sense, this is just an example.
Dadonov doesn't cost much, maybe we could get it cheap. Miromanov more offensive D, maybe just then let's see what we have in Laaksonen? Olofsson still has value and we all know he plays with injury (not sure why), I would look for more useful things for Olofsson. But it's not such a bad deal.

Other note… please break up that top pairing. It’s disgustingly bad and hopefully with more RHD Granato finally splits them up next year</div></div>
I agree about dahlin/jokiharju. I'm not sure where jokiharju realistically should slot, but it's not top pair. Dahlin is probably going to start seeing less time and easier minutes, power sounds like the real deal.

Mitts value is not so high now because of the current season in which he almost did not play. We probably would have had to give up other assets to get Keller.
I don't really like the deal with Seattle, maybe Driedger is suitable, but I don't think Donskoi is needed. Maybe Morgan Geekie instead Donskoi. Also McCann would be a great addition, but then the deal would look different.

Use Cap Space
Habs have no need for oloffson, on the wings we have caufield, toffoli, Anderson, drouin, Hoffman, Gallagher, armia, lehkonen. Unless he trade 2 wingers at the deadline Habs reject.
We are really cheaply stocked on RD just like the sabres so we rather keep Savard or trade him for futures.
BTW Byron is coming back next week he's not going to be injured next year
