You can be 10% over in the summer. Just need to be compliant by the regular season. So technically throwing $10-12 mil and making it all signing bonuses is possible.

NYR trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>Lehkonen- at the right price...at/around Lundqvist straight up- would be a worthy addition for now and the future
Chiarot... inserting him in the lineup does not improve NYR defense...and considering whatever the market proves his value is, the assets they'd have to give up- he'd be a big step back for the NYR organization.</div></div>
I mean it's debatable. Can understand ur point. For me the NYR defense is pretty young and with not a lot of experience for a deep playoff run. Putting a guy like Chariot with Trouba (a big shutdown line who can play 25-26min in playoff and clear the net in front of Shes) , would put Miller on a 3rd pair and I think it be more efficient this way.

would the jets trade PLD
Rangers wouldn't trade for PLD as his cap hit going forward wouldn't fit in our cap structure. Copp would be a more likely trade target.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mlbrunner16</b></div><div>I figured that scheifele is locked up on a very good deal so they would want to keep him around. They seem to be in a jam for next season with the cap and would potentially not be able to resign him unless they moved money out.</div></div>
Remember PLD in Columbus last year? Scheifele has been like that this year (not quite to the same level, but clearly unmotivated). Winnipeg likely looks to retool around their young core of PLD Connor and Ehlers. No idea if the 2 i mentioned above get moved but I could definitely see some captaincy changes.
Dont think their cap is an issue next year, they have a little over 8.6M in UFA's coming off the books and PLD likely only gets a raise between 3-4M

Still an RFA after his deal so that definitely raises his value a bit. I would say something like Kakko+ a 1st or something like Kravtsov+ Jones+ a 1st

As a flyers fan I take this. I am interested in seeing how Kravtsov pans out and its time for a rebuild/retool in Philly. Flyers could also just retain half on giroux to make the cap work, you keep Nemeth and send Kravtsov and a 1st.

The lightning are 18 mil over the cap when the playoffs start, LTIR the way tampa used it isn’t a loophole stamkos.rutta and kucherov all had legitimate injurys and all needed to miss long amounts of time

Yup, but cap doesn't matter in the playoffs. Put stammer and kuch in LTIR, and move down several of those scratches and they still have a couple mil to play with

Lol. Nothing different except these two major things regarding a #2RD who is only 30 coming off injury compared to at 3rd at best line winger who is 39 and fell off a cliff ... also the Rangers Cap position is significantly different than Toronto, who had to get Kap, AJ, and still Marner under contract, where the rangers can re sign their RFA's to bridges, long extend Trouba, and just trade some spare parts to get under the cap for a positive return. Are you serious bruh?

Buddy you are smoking the good ish if you think they trade a First (in a LOADED draft) to get rid of Shatty. He isn't even the problem on the blueline compared to smith and staal... They 100% buy him out before they do this deal.

Yeah, I've seen AA being traded to the Rangers a few times now. I agree, I don't think that's a real destination for him. There are other places like OTT or MTL (assuming CAR matches the Aho OS) that need either his friendly salary or another Center.

Trouba contract will effect Provorov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mlbrunner16</b></div><div>Sources I have looked at have troubas value at 7x 6.875M but I personally think it will be a little bit more than that. Provorov is projected on this site to get a 7x 6.275M but again I'm thinking it would be about 6.85M for 7yrs. The source I am looking at by the way is the contract predictor excell sheet that was put out. You can google it and I think it would come up and they have been pretty good as far as being pretty close the actual values with the exception of a couple recently signed.</div></div>
I've looked at the EW excel sheet and i agree they are normally pretty close but it is rumored that Provorov is asking for $8M on a long term deal. I would love for Provorov to sign under $7M but I just don't think it happens unless it on a bridge which I doubt he is interested in.

No need to sign Perry since you traded for Callahan (there is your veteran presence). Word is that Buffalo and NYR are talking about Vesey and draft pick swaps so NY can get back into first round. Buchnevich and or DeAngelo should be signed long teem.

Preds would certainly be interested in Zucc but they aren't trading their top forward prospect for a rental. The picks help but likely doesn't impact the roster for 2-4 years for a team largely in win-now mode.

Trading Z back to Ottawa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mlbrunner16</b></div><div>I would rather just sign panarin who is better than stone and not have to give anything up in the process. If we trade Zibinijad, it would be for younger building blocks and picks /high end prospects, not someone who is going into free agency</div></div>
At some point they have to pick between Zibanejad and Hayes. Z has more value now, but Hayes is the better player long term (concussion history). Signing Hayes to a 5.75 deal and Stone to a 8.5 leaves plenty to go after Panarin in FA.

I agree with you on zuc. They are fleecing the sharks on that deal. Lebanc is very good, and meir is good as well. Neither Hayes or Namestikov are 2 line centers and one could make a case both sharks players are better today, let alone in the future.
