Non Eichel ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mnwild17</b></div><div>Dannult has helped shut down Sidney crosby and Auston Matthews the last 2 playoffs. JEE is a top defensive center who just put up 20 in a short season, Rossi is one of the better center prospects around. Danult can at least keep up with our wings and is a good playmaker. He would fit In well offensively while also always bribing great D. Can’t say that about Kuzy, Monohan or Reinheart. If any of their offensive production drops off they quickly become very expensive to keep around.</div></div>
I'm aware - I actually said the same thing re: crosby and matthews in another thread earlier today. Danault is a great player and he'd definitely make the Wild bette. But he's going to be expensive, and like the other commenter said, he doesn't really score goals. Kap and Zucc need a finisher. I'm not terribly opposed to Danault, but I just think there are better options available for that price point.
But just to be clear, I was more laughing at your comment about the low scoring, tight defensive play, and not your suggestion of Danault. We were arguably the most boring team in the league up until this year.

Only Eichel Deal I would do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barbs</b></div><div>I get what you're saying and I think in an ideal situation you want both teams to have all their needs met with the trade but if Buffalo feels the need to move Eichel (which may or may not be the case) and this is the best offer they receive from any team in terms of overall value then that's the deal they should take and make subsequent moves. OP felt like this was enough value to acquire Eichel and a proposal he/she felt the Wild could stomach so in my mind it's as good an ACGM as any even if its not an ideal fit from Buffalo's perspective.</div></div>
I get it. And if Buf trades with NYR they don’t have the center prospects. I think that’s why Minny and LA would be the targets, because they do have the center targets that carry that type of value. Value was always fine, I tried to alter within the value for team needs as well

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lsendel3</b></div><div>I’ve said as much. Value is there. I also it might be an overpay. Mnwild was playing the part of BG, I’m playing the part of KA in a negotiation. He said that’s the most he’d offer, I as the Buf GM would try to use said value but make it more to my organizational needs. It’s kinda a lazy cop out to say well then x team can just make other moves to fit organizational needs in a forum. It would be like a team putting a package for fiala using Dmen and picks. Most of the wild fans would say wrong parts</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Barbs</b></div><div>They don't have to do anything but a trade proposal doesn't need to immediately solve all the teams problems. So long as the perceived value of the incoming assets are enough then its a valid proposal and Buffalo can then use those assets to address their needs as they see fit. It's the same idea as drafting for need vs BPA</div></div>

By the rules of capfriendly, Sabres aren't allowed to use any of those pieces to address their need at C with a subsequent trade. Therefore NO DEAL!

Actually a really good offer but I have a feeling some sabers fans might disagree.

Kaprizov, Fiala and Eriksson Ek Contract Values
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mnwild17</b></div><div>Kap is honestly a dart at the board for his contract. I would say something similar to Panairens deal as he was in the same RFA grouping I believe. But I can’t see the wild only signing him to a 2 year deal. I HOPE it is something like 6-8 years at around 6-8m. But honestly the comparables are very few. If he signs short term I think it would be about a 4.5 AAV. But again I can’t see GMBG doing that. Maybe a 4 year deal and GMBG lines it up to expire at the same time as Parise and Suter, but I honestly don’t know.</div></div>
Agreed! If I HAD to guess, my prediction would be that he signs a 7x7 which seems like a win for both parties.

And at that point Guerin will have the biggest laugh of his life. That's ridiculous.
