Definitely pass on the Pens deal. I don't see Marino getting moved.

keeping the band together
Ha, I see what you're saying with your comment on mine. I'm not going to hate on the trade of Dumo. I would argue we should be able to get more for him. He's about as solid and consistent of a d-man there is. He isn't flashy but rarely screws up either. And he's going to need a new contract after next year which will be more. he's easily the most tradable of the d-men assets. I don't want to see him go but will be hard to keep him unless the pens can offload Petterson.

I like the idea of trading for JT Miller more than Boeser. Personally I'd be ok with that deal.

Boeser
I think this trade would make the Pens stronger for now but kills them after the season. Pens are going to have to dump Zucker's deal and probably one of the top 3 LD's on the roster to keep most of our folks and/or have a chance to keep Boeser. In which case we sent out a top draft pick and top D prospect for a half year (not even) rental.

How much for Keller
I don't understand why people keep posting Colin Miller trades to the Pens. We have 4 RD's on the roster right now. Doesn't make sense. If the Pens trade picks, it will be for wingers, not Dmen right now.

Might as well hop on the Eichel train
money and assets wise, I'd actually argue that deal probably isn't far off what it would take. Eichel is good...but man thats a ton of assets to lose on an already not talent rich team.

I think the idea of what you're suggesting is smart. Trade off options that can get you assets. If a great, no brainer deal for Eichel comes, take it too.
I don't see you getting much for Hall. He's been a bust this year. Not going to get big money in the offseason.

I like both trades and this lineup. Would probably throw Jankowski in either of the deals as well just to clear more cap. But I would dig this lineup.

Like the idea of the Fleury trade, but would have to take back one of the Pens goalies. Pass on the Patches trade. All that said, Pens don't have cap room for either.

If we decide the cup is for us this year
From the PENS side, I'd take that deal. Not sure I agree that Letang wouldn't take that deal. With the talent the rangers have, they are closer to contending for a cup than the Pens are. The deal would help start getting younger for the Pens...

i'm all for adding top end talent, but a line of crosby, hoffman, and gaudreau would be horrible. there is Zero grit on that line outside of crosby. Sid must have at least one guy on his line that will make a hit and go get a puck. neither of those guys do that. pass

Pens need a 3C
I like the idea and have liked this for a while. Don't see Sceviour in your list. I think he and Riikola get traded or demoted somehow.
Would also like to see Grabner picked up on the cheap. I think a line with Haula and Grabner would be loads of speed.

My top two choices would be Haula and Grabner. I think if you could get Haula for 3rd line center and Grabner to play either 3rd of 4th line LW...they would be great fits, add speed to the lineup. Kill penalties. It think it would be fantastic fits. Also, if you could get those two, could maybe use McCann as a trade chip to improve somewhere else as well.
I think Duclair is an interesting possibility. Depends on money wants.
I think TVR would be a good add for D...but if we add any other D, we'd have to clear our someone else.
As an odd addition, I've heard rumors that Vegas is offerring to keep half of Fleury's salary and give a 2nd round pick. Supposedly some teams have said if they added a 1st or made it a 1st instead of a 2nd, then they would take it. I think If the pens could swap DeSmith for Fleury with 1/2 salary retained by Vegas and get a 1st rounder next year...I'd pull that deal.

Another try
I'm a fan of Grabner and think he'd fit in the Pens system. Gogo has declined and definitely not worth what he's paid currently IMO. Clearing JJ's contract is important, but taking back 8 mil+ in cap would be tough. I'd think Arizona would have to keep a little of the cap hit to make this work.
I would also agree that Hornqvist probably needs to go. Thats a lot of money to have on the 3rd of 4th line.
I like adding Haula. I think a Haula, Grabner, Tanev line would be very interesting. Lots of speed there.
Don't see McCann going anywhere now that he got his deal and he's <3mil.
Be interesting to see what Murray and Horny would bring. I would be cool w/ this lineup...maybe minus Simon....never have dug him.

Interesting Goalie Moves
the only deal there that I think is quasi reasonable that I'm interested in is the Grabner deal. I'd be shocked if Arizona took that deal but I'd love to see Grabner with the Pens.
The other deals aren't going to happen...not even close.

Hall And a Goalie
I don't think the pens trade is that bad. Maybe bump it to a second and Rutherford would listen.
The idea that Hall takes 6 mil/yr to come back to Edmonton is a bit laughable to me. He might take a 1 yr lower money deal to try and get a cup...but not 4 yrs.

Could Dumoulin be a fit with Penguins set to make key moves
Pens aren't trading Dumo. The only D-men that the Pens won't trade are Marino and Dumo. Most would think Letang, but I think if the right offer was there, the Pens would take it. Dumo isn't going anywhere, and defintely not for Strome.
