I'd even throw in Senyshyn and a pick. Or just a lower level prospect in general, wasn't too sure of his value

Hall Extension
Not sure what Taylor Hall is going to command, I'm personally pushing for Hall to sign a 2 or 3 year extension. That would be a great scenario for Boston.

Playoff Lines
It really comes down to the defense getting healthy. Need the big 3 healthy on the back end, badly.
Mike Reilly is sneaky good. I think he'd do excellent next to Carlo. Analytical darling.
As for the third pairing, not a huge fan of having two defensive dmen in Lauzon and Miller...I'd personally prefer more of a puck mover in Zboril next to Miller (Even though I completely understand why you chose Lauzon over Zboril)

NEXT SEASON BRUINS
Not so convinced Kase is coming back, I like the Ritchie and Carlo contracts.
Not a huge fan of getting Getzlaf and Grabner, pass on Lundqvist, I like getting Kulikov
I'd bring back Miller for 1 year tops
I like Mantha a lot, I am a bit skeptical with him though.
Boston would do that Wood trade in a heartbeat, unfortunately NJD instantly declines
Final Thoughts- I'd like to see a legitimate dman addresed into the top 4. If you're shopping Debrusk, I'd say try to get a dman in return

OEL isn't much better than EK65. The legacy of Karlsson will get him a spot in this lineup, whether it's deserving or not

Deadline
I'd be okay trading for Taylor Hall, but it's going to take more than that. First off, a contract would have to go the other way to Buffalo. They would also more than likely have to retain half of Hall's salary. Lastly, it's going to be a bidding war for Hall from numerous teams, more than likely gonna take a first round pick.

Whats wrong
Everyone after the first line, I'm pointing my finger at. It's not just JD, Kuraly, Wagner, it's the whole entire 2nd line all the way through the 4th line. I completely understand this team is in a tough division, but they legitimately have no luck putting the puck in the net.
I'm pretty sure this team has only allowed 1 goal in each of these past 5 games. That is OUTSTANDING team defense and yet they still can't close out these games.

If continued struggles lead to dropping out of the playoffs
I'm sorry but breaking up that top line never works. They try it at least a few times every season but my goodness it does nothing. I think that line is at a point where they can be blindfolded and know exactly where each other are on the ice. I'm kinda done with that experiment

I actually thought JD had a pretty good game last night. Just couldn't finish. Kuraly was the reason this game got tied up, I won't sit him for that but he shouldn't be safe in this lineup, I wouldn't mind him sitting for a game. JD can use it too but I thought JD played fairly good last night.

Blockbuster
I think Noah Hanifin gets a tad bit overrated here. He's a struggling top 4 dman who looks like isn't improving like one might hope. I get he's the hometown boy and Boston has been targeting him since his draft year, but I think you overpaid for him in this deal. I'm not convinced he'll be this unreal top 4 dman here in Boston until I see it
I'd say Jake Debrusk for Noah Hanifin straight up would be a deal Calgary might consider

Oleksiak
I have noted in the past that Oleksiak would be one of my top targets for a rental dman. I think his value is higher than one might assume though, I think his play in the playoffs last season absolutely increased his value to maybe a 2nd round-3rd round pick.
That being said, I have a feeling Dallas prefers to keep him. Playing the whole year without guys like Tyler Seguin and Ben Bishop definitely hurts Dallas, they may refer to this season as a fluke year

Like I mentioned, that can probably get it done, but you have to compare it to what other teams may offer Buffalo. Right out of the gates, Buffalo will take phone calls from teams outside the conference/division before picking up the telephone from Boston.

My Mid-February Draft Rankings Top 70
Very nice rankings. It's just gonna be such a weird draft that there will never be a true set in stone type of rankings. My only comment is that:
Beniers is such a great hockey player. He's a player that every team would be thrilled to have. I just don't personally see him as the #1 prospect in the draft. I think he can be a third line guy as soon as next season, but I'm not so sure his ceiling is first line. He's more of an aggresive, heartsy two way second line in my opinion. I don't see a crazy offensive guy out there.
I just believe the ceiling of Power and Hughes is what will make them more intriguing for teams to select over Beniers. Johnson and Eklund as well has top line potential. Beniers is without a doubt the safest pick in the draft, he's going to be an effective NHLer. The ceiling is the question

very true, that's fair to say. Shocking that Chychrun fell in the draft after seeing his play last year and this year. Don't know what GM's saw at the time, but some of them look like they messed up

Major trade
Bruins will make an offer to Buffalo for Jack Eichel if he becomes available. I'm willing to bet 2 things :
1) Boston will come short of giving a great deal that other teams will give him
2) Buffalo isn't trading an elite 1C within the division
Those two things lead me to believe that I am 98% sure Jack Eichel won't be a Bruin via the Sabres. If anything, Jack Eichel signs in Boston as a UFA in the future.
As cool as it would be and how incredible going from an aging Bergeron to a prime Eichel, it's just not looking likely.

Rental LHD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Health is a concern but you don't really have many other good options. He's probably the only guy with a great defensive game and above-average puck skills while being able to play top4 minutes. Other available d-men are mostly defensive-minded. On the back end, the Bruins only have McAvoy and Grzelcyk who are great offensively. Zboril is their 3rd option on PP/OT, he hasn't been bad but he has limited experience. Moore/Clifton are average or so. Who are your targets?</div></div>
Well #1- I don't even think Murray will get traded for NJ. I'm assuming they're holding onto him. If he's available then he'd be up there for potential targets, but I wouldn't say he's my absolute #1
I like acquiring Hjarmalsson out of Arizona, he brings a defensive first game and tons of experience. I like Edler out of Vancouver for same reasons. If Dallas somehow doesn't make it, maybe Jamie Oleksiak. If Minnesota doesn't make it- Ian Cole.
I think I'd be interested in Hjarmalsson, Edler, and Oleksiak before thinking about Murray because they bring experience and possibly great leadership. But it's still insanely hard to tell if these teams would be willing to move any of these guys. We truly don't know out of these players which teams are already out of the running for playoffs. Vancouver is playing very bad so they could maybe be sellers...but are they trading life long Canuck Alex Edler? We'll get a better idea closer to the TDL, but the options are very slim. I'm also talking about acquiring a pure rental here, one who expires after this season.
If Bruins want to acquire someone more long term, then they should be all in for Ekholm. I personally prefer a rental like those guys I mentioned. I think the only ones who are more than likely are guaranteed to be on the market: Patrik Nemeth and Ian Cole. I wouldn't be crazy acquiring Nemeth but Ian Cole could interest me.
Here are my priorities as of right now:
PLAYER/ AVAILABLE?
1) Edler/ TBD
2) Oleksiak/ TBD
3) Hjarmalsson/ TBD
4) Murray/ TBD
5) Cole/ TBD
6) Goligoski/ TBD
7) Merrill/ YES
8) Nemeth/ YES
9) Oesterle/ TBD
10)M. Staal/ YES
I personally would rather acquire a shutdown guy with experience vs an offensive type dman at the TDL if they were to hypothetically drop Lauzon down to the third pairing.

We Want the Cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>They've played well but you are not winning with 3/6 third pair D, especially rookies. Zboril has had a good start but he's been sheltered. Lauzon isn't a 1st pair D, he's been okay while being carried by McAvoy. Clifton has been fine but he should be on the third pair as RD. Trade for an established top4 D if you really want the Cup.</div></div>
also worth noting that this defense has been getting hurt regularly for the last few years now, which makes acquiring a dman even more important than someone like Taylor Hall
