Ya if it's a wash on the cap i would rather keep Ullmark, unless you get a crazy package, tough thinking about moving a guy like that having the season he's having while being under contract at a good number. I think if the roster looks anything like what this one does they will still be a playoff team next year.

Forget the unrealistic nature of this.
Just from a strategic standpoint. Eliminate all of the garbage vets (Dzingael, Edler, Del Zotto etc) and let the kids take those spots. Don’t do what management does. Sign old, mediocre vets to block young players.
BTW. You did not factor in bonus overages so you’d be over the cap.

I don’t see what Devils say no to that. It’s an upgrade to their current goaltending tandem and at very reasonable price.
Only caveat is if Blackwood someone gets his head screwed on right this season and starts playing how we all hoped he would.

It might be a starting point, but the Jets would probably prefer Carlo over DeBrusk and the first to be in 23.

That's a pretty easy no from Winnipeg. With DeBrusk being a winger and the value being about what Winnipeg gets for Dubois as a rental at the TDL in 2 years, there's no incentive for Winnipeg to make the trade now.

WATCH OUT FOR THIS TEAM
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ngikas</b></div><div>We're so screwed for next year lol. I've made some rough draft mocks for next year and the FA market for centers is not strong. Unless a miracle happens and McKinnon wants to sign in Boston. One guy that comes to mind for me is Dubois, gonna have to be a trade or an offer sheet though. Personally I think the Bruins just need to bite the bullet and move Pasta. He's realistically their only option of getting a top tier level center to Boston. But I know Sweeney is gonna to prioritize extending Pasta and we're gonna have a merry go round of young centers trying to establish themselves. I cant wait for the dark ages after this year so Sweeney and Neely can get the boot.</div></div>
It would’ve made a ton of sense to commit to the rebuild this year and move Marchand and Pastrnak for good returns and get one of Fantilli, Yaeger, Carlsson etc.

The Sweeney scramble
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ngikas</b></div><div>So you wouldn't want to acquire Pasta at the expense of Garland or one of the 3 players you just named? I have no clue about any of those prospects besides a bit about Hoglander and thats more fantasy hockey knowledge of the player, not necessarily actual hockey knowledge. Will any of them be the player that Pasta is today? In a move like this you're just re-establishing your core by moving on from Miller and getting Pasta (assuming the deal goes with extensions).</div></div>
Hoglander and Podkolzin likely never become the scorers that Pasta is, <a href="/users/theAlien" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@theAlien</a> is just explaining that adding more winger depth is not a pressing need for the Canucks so as to not push the young guys too far down the depth chart. Plus, we don't know if Kuzmenko is gonna hit or not, let alone to what degree

Dump Foligno Trade Reilly and Bury Wagner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ngikas</b></div><div>rather have one of the kids play, just my opinion tho. Personally I hope the 4th line is Freddy-Stud-Steen.</div></div>
I kind of agree with this. I would also kinda like to see Lysell stay in Junior if he doesn’t get significant ice time with the big club, which is unlikely. Studnicka could be 3RW, and McLaughlin could play 4RW. No need for Brett Ritchie, one of the Bruins’ biggest issues is the logjam at every position for the past few years. Buying depth pieces at the deadline to try and push for cups has stopped them from allowing kids to learn at the NHL level. Studnicka, Steen, and probably even Senyshyn (prior to being moved) should’ve been given better opportunities to earn spots out of camp and in the preseason. Instead, veterans from Free Agency had the inside lane on the final roster spots, year in and year out.

Unfortunately, it's one of those things people keep repeating for some bizarre reason, because there's no chance of it happening. And obviously, even less now.

Arizona says no. Blues are already over the cap and have too many LD. Not sure Pasta makes sense for Anaheim rn. Think theyre gonna want to see what the 2 young guys do this season. And ^ Debrusk and Kadri don't mix lol. Kadri doesn't mix well in lots of places though and someone is going to get him. Question, what does Pastrnak to the Blues look like? Other than pain? Lol

Nah; if we trade Nyquist at this point, it's probably going to be for defensive help. We no longer need him to be a cap casualty; Bjorkstrand accepted that sacrifice already.

That doesn't have anything to do with Reilly. Most teams don't have much money because of the flat cap. Also, Bruins don't have to move Reilly.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ngikas</b></div><div>As an outsider and based off this lineup, moving Nyquist is the option that makes the most sense to me. I dont watch CBJ hockey so idk how important he is to CBJ but from what I do know about just NHL players, I'd definitely would keep Bjorkstrand over Nyquist. Nyquist on a rental deal too so return might not be as optimal of a return but probably the easiest to move out considering he's got 1 year left at a rather fair cap hit.</div></div>
It's a fair assessment. Nyquist has been very good for us, but he's the most sensible of a number of bittersweet options.
