<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>Maybe??</div></div>
if in the next three seasons he has 80+ points and on average 30 goals it is definitely not an overpayment. with 7 mils per he is not even in the list of top 50 paid active NHL-ers but he surely is among the top 50 NHL players

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeastModeUnknown</b></div><div>Another guy secured. Tkachuk here soon takes over Gaudreau's spot as best Winger on the team.</div></div>
uuhh that is a bit bold statement. Tkachuk soon better than Gaudreau?!? I do not see it right now just because of Tkachuk's skating and lesser ability to drive play (he is doing it but not as good as Gaudreau). In my opinion, Tkachuk should definitely shoot more but since he loves the goalies' so much he is usually in front of the net. But let us see what happens now he will be paid real money

Just pile up the points this season Tony. Then it's pay time, with Rangers or some other team, and it won't be for 3mil, it will be much higher!

Will Winnipeg make the playoffs
it will be hard, but the core forwards is still there (i am assuming Connor gets signed - long term now that Laine is pissing on his teammates). Laine is not an important factor here, remember last season he scored at approx. 3 goals per month pace (excluding November) - even less. Vesalainen can score at this pace too. The D will be in trouble but let's see how it plays out. If Josh is healthy, Kulikov plays decent, Pionk and Niku can still upgrade their game (they are young players), Poolman and Beaulieu can be good 3rd pairing; they can squeeze for playoffs. I am not saying they are contenders, just that they can slip into the 3rd Central place or WC.

Who lost the off-season
Flames, did not accomplish anything useful, but that is just me as a Flames fan.
The Lucic trade is awkward as hell, Frolik or Brodie did not get traded while Valimaki got injured, Tkachuk still not signed and it seems that it could go into the season. The Mangi signing is awfull for player respect, I would be mad as hell at Tre for not giving me a decent contract (at least 950k would have been appreciated). We lost Hathaway, a guy who had pretty good chemistry with Derek and Mangi.
... yes and Talbot is a total miss. Spend 2.75 mil for bull****. Gillies could have got that place (yes it is a risk, but the Flames are not contenders so why not go with two inexperienced goalies).
The only positive was Bennet`s contract.
P.S. whoever thinks Flames are contender this please refer to April, 2019 and watch the round 1 of Flames-Avs - no commentary or explanation needed. Since the team is almost the same you get the point.

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Mitchell Marner (6 Years / $10,903,000 AAV)
Well Leafs, good luck next year with your defence. The situation looks really ugly. Cannot believe players don't care about other team members or having a stanley cup team. I mean let's be honest, next year the leafs won't be SC contenders simply cause they don't have any cap for their depth players.

New York Rangers signed Brendan Lemieux (1 Year / $925,000 AAV)
thank god they signed a realistic deal and not the one like with Spooner two years ago. He has now the time to show he is valuable to the team for next year signing. I believe he could be a great 4th liner and successful teams need good 4th lines. Even if I am not an Islander fan I always liked their 4th line of Martin, Cizikas, Clutterbuck (they were much cheaper in 2016) and they were a lot of fun. Lemieux, Fast and Lias could be a good combo.

they could have kept Fantenberg or they could try to sign Girardi. Even McQuaid would have been a better option.

No wonder other RFAs are holding out. If Keller gets this much what can other expect. Don't get me wrong I like how Keller plays and what he brings to the game but the amount seems a little bit high and the term looks too risky.

I think this is a good deal for both sides and I am actually happy that he signed with the Hurricanes now that Ferland went to the Canucks.

Wait... I can see it, yes it is now clear! How could I not see this before. Marner should get a 14,959,999.99 contract so it does not look too greedy to ask for the full 14,960,000

Philadelphia Flyers signed Kevin Hayes (7 Years / $7,142,857 AAV)
I hit "Yes" just because I think Hayes still has great potential. Yes, he is known for his "laziness" among the Rangers fans but still, he can be a great player (great playmaking abilities, great passer, can make a move or two, kills penalties, etc.). I have to admit I was surprised to see Vigneault asking for him (I doubt the Flyers GM picked Hayes on his own) as I did not get an impression he overly liked his play with the Rangers. Who is next for Flyers? Wanna trade for Shattenkirk or Marc Stall? These guys are cheap considering the Hayes contract :)

Vegas Golden Knights signed Mark Stone (8 Years / $9,500,000 AAV)
So a guy who scores 25ish goals per season, has 62ish points per season gets 9.5 mil. Yes this year he plays better cause it is was his final contract year. There is a bunch of players who do that. I mean it is too much money. He is not THAT good. Is he good as Kucherov or McDavid? How much will Rantannen get? 13M? Marner should get 15.9M then. This is becoming a little crazy. Why will Tampa be SC winner or at least a returning finalist in the next few years. They have players who agreed to play for a little less than they could get on a free market. Toronto will be in big cap trouble very soon as well as Vegas. I say it is all Tavares and Dubas fault - they started this madness.

Pittsburgh Penguins signed Casey DeSmith (3 Years / $1,250,000 AAV)
No, this was not a good signing for DeSmith. You cant look at everything from the teams perspective. From players perspective this could turn out to be demoralizing. I think he deserved more, cause he is actually good solid goalie with a lot of space for improvement.
