<strong>BUT I gotta ask who is saying this is something the Jets are looking at? </strong>Cause this was mentioned to me by a pretty reliable source yesterday so makes me wonder, I still don't buy it though, just can't see Buffalo even entertaining the idea of trading Tuch.
Should keep Stanley, he's looking much better lately and Carrier is too small for playoff hockey, the Jets defense needs to get bigger not smaller.</div></div>
Was watching the Kenny and Renny postgame show last night with Ken Weibe and San Reynolds and Sean mentioned that he believes this is the day that the Jets make their move and he thinks that they have looked into Tuch. Says it is the type of move Chevy would make. Term and not reported to be available. Says that Chevy is probably off to the side trying to wow the sabers into moving him.

Patches would be a great in the middle 6 for the Jets.
Edmondson is ok depth (100 times better then stanley) but I would look at TVR on the caps. He could actually play in the top 6 and would be an upgrade on schmidt.

At this point I am fine moving Heinola. Do I think he can play right now and be impactful? Yes, 100%. But Bowness obviously doesn't see it. I say capitalize on the value now.
As for TVR... He is getting up there in age but as a bottom pair D at only 1.5M, I am in.

He wasn't a top pair guy until he started playing with Hughes. The jets have found a fit beside Morrissey in DeMelo, so unless it is a true #1 then the Jets don't need to pay a dman 7M.

I would be shocked if that is the case... however, Monahan returned a 1st so anything can happen.

The jets should accept instantly. Offloading Stanley is already a win, then we save cap and get a potential middle 6er in Rosen. Huge win for the Jets.

Why would the Jets do that? Can't afford to pay a 2nd pair dman 7M. Would rather give Demelo an extension around 4M because we already know he fits well with Morrissey.

Kovacevic's underlying numbers have been unreal this year. He is definitely an upgrade on Schmidt. For a 5th rounder this would be a great add for the bottom pair.
I think if teams appreciate his analytics he could go for a 2nd+, but he doesn't have the name value that Tanev or even Walker have.

TDL 2024
This is exactly what the Jets should do.
If you can get both on reasonable deals, it helps with this year's cup run and future years. And you keep your top 3 prospects in McGraorty, Lambert, and Barlow.
This would be my ideal TDL.

It is more than they paid but if this is what it takes I am willing to do it.

For Chychrun half retained is a fair offer for both sides. I would also see if the Sens are somewhat interested in taking Iafallo back so the Jets have space to make another move.
I also wonder if the Jets make it a bigger trade and also bring in Tarasenko.

If i am the Jets I consider it... however there are better 2C options imo that might be cheaper, have longer term, possibly be extended and just a better fit.

Just to let you know, Heinola was in the opening night roster over Nate Schmidt per Rick Bowness but got injured in the last preseason game. It was devestating because that was his best training camp ever and was going to get PP2 minutes as well.

Reunited and it feels so good
Jets dont need another LHD. If the Jets trade for a D at the TDL it will be a top pair RHD or a bottom pair/depth RHD. Chychrun doesn't help that much, especially if we have to give up arguably our top prospect, a 1st and 3rd where he was worth less and playing better just a year ago. It just doesn't add up.
And for DeMelo contract seems like what he will get but sounds like the Jets will resign him.

Jets need Lindholm
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>There is no dman that would be available that is an impact player for less than what I paid for lindholm. Term means the cost is more as it's not a rental at that point. The team defense has been amazing and really doesn't need to be changed. Addressing special teams is top priority (pp, pk and faceoffs) lindholm brings all of them. The dmen are fine as you aren't moving 5 of them only one is schmidt and paying the price for say (rasmus Andersson) is not cheap and not a chevy trade tbh and paying to get rid of schmidt when he's been a beast defensively</div></div>
I agree that the special teams is the only issue right now however I believe that will work itself out. Connor coming back will also give that a boost.
My opinion on faceoffs has always been that they aren't that important.
I just feel like that price for Lindholm is ok but only if you are extending him which is impossible for the Jets and tbh is probably not the best idea.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howie</b></div><div>Jets need a better pp, pk and face man which lindholm brings all 3 while being a legit threat down the middle after scheifele and move namestnikov and lowry to lower lines would make the jets super deep. They are 1st in the nhl time is now to ensure the year isn't a waste</div></div>
I agree however I think the assets can be better spent on a player with term. Lindholm is the flashy player this TDL but the Jets have a window of 2-3 years where they could use a big name on D or a C with term. Lindholm as a rental isnt worth a 1st 2nd and C prospect. The only issue is there will be a team that wants to trade and extend him.

Still dont know if I would pay that for a rental. It would make us better for sure but I think there are other players out there with multiple years that can be had for a similar price that can be a better fit. Dont know if Lindholm is the best fit for the Jets on the ice or contract-wise. 2C is probably the biggest hole on paper but Namestnikov is filling in very well in that spot. I would look more to the backend if there is a big name out there that fits this 2-3 year window that the jets have.
