another rebuilding year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stevierebz</b></div><div>Plausible roster.. I usually pick Scech or Cholo as the expansion casualty as well. I think Veleno stays up in Det and det takes a cap dump like Ericsson too but this is probably accurate.</div></div>
Yeah I think he will take some cap dumps, I think Veleno could be up, I think the expansion pick will be between Sevchnikov, cholo , and smith, I was just trying to keep it simple, I would like to think in 3-5 years they will be a playoff team.

just an idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AnyoneButTheBruins</b></div><div>I don't think red wings have a chance at getting Pietro unless they hand him like a 7X11 which is ridiculous I know. I know Red Wings have shown interest in Markstrom but I think he would be a mistake to sign. Also, that is a masssssive overpayment on red wings end to take on Neal's terrible contract. Red Wings don't need to spend money just because we have it. That's what screwed us with Ken Holland...</div></div>
Yeah i could see more added for taking on neal, and i agree on staying away from big name free agents, we need to get a few more high end draft picks, the other i would do if the wings did the neal trade would be to buy neal out, or you hold him for the expansion draft the following next year.

a possible team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BStinson</b></div><div>That Edmonton trade is awful for Detroit. There’s a reason they were only able to swap with Lucic. Helm is only one more year and we retain half. Nothing wrong with letting Helm play on the 4th and pk. If Neal is coming to Detroit I expect quality futures.</div></div>
I was not sure what to include, would you want picks or another prospect added?

OFF SEASON IDEAS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>You could get Gudas (probably) and Gagner (certainly) for less, but Lehner would require a LOT more... if he'd sign in Detroit at all.</div></div>
What do think it would take for Lehner 3 x 5.25?

trade deadline ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oilsince95</b></div><div>Like the core idea of the EDM trade, but the Oil can’t take on two roster players without sending a roster player with cap back. So maybe Gagner or Granlund goes back the other way, just to make the rosters work until the end of the season (both ufa’s).</div></div>
Yes i can see adding a player coming in from the oilers, and i don't see an issue taking Gagner or Granlund back.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Glendening is worth more then a 4th round pick? If that's all we get for him he stays in Detroit. Other then that they're all fair realistic deals.</div></div>
I agree that it would take more than a 4th round pick, I was just not sure how much to push for and it is hard to judge the worth of players in this current market and the current state of the Red Wings.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>why no AA? like is there an actual reason or fans just don't like him or what</div></div>
It is more based on the contract talks , because he has been a hold out, if they can come to agreement that works for the team and him I would definitely like to keep him he is a nice piece to have.

trade ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>I just don't know that its the right time for Detroit to go for a guy like hall. I still think they have some internal growth to do first i.e. they need another top5 pick or two at least and some time for their young guys develop before they look into FAs. Lafreniere or byfield would be a huge step forward, then I think they could use a top d and goalie prospect, let them develop 2-3 years, then they'll be looking good and they can look at FAs. Its gonna be real tough for them to rebuild and get back to the playoffs in the atlantic</div></div>
I agree that they need more top picks, I do not think they will trade for Hall, I just don't see AA staying a red wing, I would love the wings to get byfield.

I was just looking to find someone for AA, I do not think he is part of the plans going forward for Detroit, as for the hall trade I should have stated it is based on him resigning with Detroit, if not the trade does not happen, I believe Detroit will have about 14 RFA's to deal with in the offseason.
