why would he be the guy to get rid off. making only 1.8 mil and still very promising and underrated. Makes no sense. I just thought it was because they didn't think he fits into their top 6

Why. what is the need for any of these moves. I'd rather have nylander than Hoffman, beauvillier, and Mayfield, plus nylander is cheaper.

That's why I said that I know a lot of these people will be resigned at the top because ovie is still technically a free agent next year, which helps this team a lot.

NHL should move to 8 divisions of 4 teams once Seattle enters
I like this because leafs have the habs, sens, and red wings in their division. But in all seriousness, I wonder how the playoffs would work. top two per division? just keep conferences and do the top eight. interesting idea never the less.

I think it just gives them more cap flexibility right now which could help them a lot at the deadline if they need.

yea this is just one example. I don't really watch the wild or predators that much and he was listed as a centre so I just put him there. If he normally plays wing then yea they'd try and get someone else. I just thought it would be funny for Granlund and fiala to play together

making room for dunn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>CAR told TOR that they'd need a 1st rd pick to take on Marleau bc they were going to buy him out and his 35+ contract meant that the cap hit of the buyout was the full 6.25m, plus he had a full NMC. Not the same scenario as a team that would trade for Bozak. I just showed you what recent cap dumps have looked like - he's basically the same player as paul stastny when you break it down. If the Blues missed the boat when teams were flexible and they have to sweeten a Bozak deal with a pick, that's fine, but I doubt it would be the 1st rounder, that sounds way too high for a useful player.</div></div>
yea but also the blues need to get rid of salary, or they'll be screwed. A team like the red wings with lots of cap space can take advantage of that and get a lot more than they should in a bozak deal. I may have put the value a bit high but I still think it's not that bad of a deal.

making room for dunn
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_K</b></div><div>Every other team dumped cap for value, aside from the Marc Staal deal - Gudbranson, Stastny, Schmidt, etc. So why would the Blues have to pay a 1st round pick to move Bozak? He was more productive at 5v5 and better defensively than Stastny was last year, and he's cheaper. He'd be a helpful piece on a lot of teams, and worth something at the trade deadline.</div></div>
I just did it off of what I've seen. That was the same price for the leafs to get rid of Patrick Marleau, who had a similar contract. And I know that Bozak was better but judging from what I've seen and the flat cap, I think that a first is fair value. Plus, the blues front office views Bozak as their third-line centre, which will bring down his value. Same reason why Montreal got so little for Domi

The worst trade here is the Ottawa trade... Okposo will cost you two 1sts to move. One 1st if you retain half.</div></div>
I feel like only one first will be necessary because it's probably comparable to the marleau trade

I feel like Lehner could be a bit cheaper and a 7-year deal seems a bit much considering what we've seen from previous long term deals for goalies.
