Agree with pretty much all of this. One of Strome/Namestikov needs to moved if possible.

Ideas to get under the cap
I think it's a good spot for him. He's only a 1 year commitment, and I think for a better return the rangers would be open to retaining some salary.

Rounding out the Summer Leafs Trade
The way I see it is, the rangers save $1,225,000 this year and $3,325,000 next year. No dead cap money on a buyout in the preceding years. Rangers can keep brown or choose to move him. I do agree maybe the 2nd round pick was a little too high. Btw no Deangelo on the pairs?

Deadline deals & Roster
All good points. I just feel as if a team is acquiring grabner, will be picking late in the first (25-31). I think if it's just that pick alone he's worth a first over say multiple picks.

Rangers Lines(no injuries)
I would agree with almost all of this. I like the idea of Andersson playing with Nash and Zuc. Since Fast is going to miss some time, I think they should look into signing Chiasson to fill that 4th line void until he is ready. Also think holden is traded before the season starts.

Rangers get their center twice
I like the Trocheck trade, however I don't think the panthers would go for that, might need to add a little more or swap a piece. That's way too much to give up for Hertl. This also doesn't work cap wise as there's no 13th forward and 7th defenseman.

Another try for a center: Coyle
Coyle would be an ideal target for the rangers. Good contact, and production. I think that's a very fair trade, just not sure how willing Minnesota will be to move him.

How overrated is Brendan Smith?
What would you guys prefer? Bringing back Smith at 4-4.5 million on a 4-5 year deal. Or bringing in Shattenkirk at 6 million on 5-6 year deal?

NYR Retool
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BSpadaro83</b></div><div>This is pretty good stuff. I think we could get rid of Holden in this scenario as well, and I dont see a 5th rd coming back from VGK, but the Miller trade makes sense. I also think you trade Raanta in this scenario to try and pick up a 2017 2nd round pick as well as a few more. Not sure I like Williams for our forward group, the faster we are the better and he would be too slow for my tastes. But def the right track of ideas.</div></div>
Good point on the Raanta scenario. Can definitely recoup nice picks by moving him. I would keep Holden around if the right deal doesn't come around. Keeping him around as a 3rd pair wouldn't be the worst. Williams would be a short term solution with Skjei, Hayes, Vesey all becoming RFAs the following year.

I think Nash is underrated, as i think he might just need a new team. Holden is coming off a great season. I think Klein is a top 4 defenseman so i think they cold get more than moving up one round in the draft. And Vatanen is good but i, myself, think that's a lot to give up for him.</div></div>
Klein is not a top 4 d man. Nash is one of the most over rated players I think this is a good team in my opinion !
Plus we do need a replacement overall good team</div></div>
Klein is definitely not a top 4 d man. In order to fix this defense, someone on the forwards has to go. Nash is what he is at this point. It's time to bring in some youth on defense. Forwards was not the problem this year.

NYR Defense Revamp
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LVNYR_FAN</b></div><div>Like the concepts (Miller/Dumba, Staal/Lehtonen if they waive NTC). Would love to see Dallas deal expanded to include Nichushkin, if possible. Would be a nice replacement for Nash when contract expires.</div></div>
Agreed not a bad idea. Figure even if you hang onto Nash, his contract expires and opens up 8 million dollars in cap next year.
