OILERS FANS Whats your ask for Puljujarvi
I've heard Fox, DeAngelo, Lemieux, and Andersson all thrown around. Probably one of those and maybe a pick, depending on the guy.

If both organizations can swing the cap, I think there could be a pretty substantial deal between Edmonton and New York, Strome included.</div></div>
With the Rangers surplus of middle 6 guys between 3-4 mil, I could definitely see something.

I would rather give Marody and Benson a shot before making a trade for Bracco. Plus we have Yammamoto another year away. A lot of players in a similar situation.

Pageau is a better defensive player than Gagner, can play center and penalty kill. He's an ideal 3C. The reason for the trading JP for the cap space is to not only get a useful player but have the room to get a legit top 6 winger. Whether its Gusev, or Buchnevich or another RFA that would require picks and a prospect. Locking up that player for 2+ years is the win. add a condition on if Pageau resigns if you want, but you're overvaluing JP and Gagner

Opening Night Lineup and Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItWasIn</b></div><div>I would put Chiasson on the top line and Neal with Nuge</div></div>
I honestly see Benson stepping into the 2nd line next year. Drai-McD-Kassian, Benson-Nuge-Neal. Kassian on the first line worked end of last season, and therefore it will at least start that way, with maybe chaisson stepping in. Benson is an amazing passer, I see him and nuge feeding Neal all season long.
Third pairing D will be a combination of Jones, Bouchard, Persson, and Bear with Russel on the other side. Because he can play LD or RD is see that 6D position being pretty fluid, as all the candidates are two way contracts.

From an Oiler perspective its more the thought of moving JP plus for a pick, and what that does for the line up (2PP, 3L, 4L). Can be Pageau in Ottawa, Eakin in Vegas, Zacha in New Jersey etc.

They just got Galchenyuk for Kessel. I'm assuming he can fit that 3C behind Crosby and Malkin.

I agree, the D doesn't look good at all. Need at least another Top 4 D-Man, maybe a bottom pairing veteran too.

What about Pulujarvi+ for Zucker?</div></div>
I like Zucker, and would do that if you can make the money work. You need 2-3 mil more in cap space, and the only guys that other teams might take are Benning and Russell. But in that case the defense gets more iffy than it already is.

At this point if he goes to Europe I wouldn't trade him, unless its for a NHL player. If he has a good season over there his value goes up, and you can turn him into another asset at that point.

I don't trust Ho-Sang. Maybe one day, but I wouldn't count on him as a top 6 guy this year.
I'm conflicted on whether or not the Oilers should Pursue a 3rd line C or 2nd line W. I'm leaning towards the 2nd line W.

The best bet to get rid of Lucic is to trade him for someone like Loui Eriksson, with a prospect like Lagesson (expendable due to Bear, Jones, Bouchard, Somorukov, Broberg, etc.). Then deal with Eriksson next offseason (more manageable buyout, or he increases his value and someone wants his veteran presence, or he gets a skin reaction to his equipment).

Larsson and a 3rd for Bracco, Brown and Zaitsev is a good deal. Edmonton needs quality forwards up front, they have about 4 of them currently and Brown and Bracco would jump past almost all of their depth guys. Bracco would help on your PP and Brown would help everywhere. Zaitsev isn't that far behind Larsson, its a smart move by Edmonton .</div></div>
Edmonton would not take on Zaitsev for more money than Larsson, no matter what you package

I'm going off what I've heard they're offering. I'd assume they wouldn't spend more than 2.5 on a goalie. If its not Mrazek, maybe Kinkaid, or Smith (not saying they should, saying they can for under 2.5).

I think it does. Ottawa still needs NHL D. Its not a long term commitment, only 1 year. Melnyk saves over 1mil, which he needs. Pageau doesn't resign in 2020 anyway.

You can bury Brodziak in the minors and save pretty much the whole cap hit.
I don't know if i could trust Ho-Sang as a top 6 guy right now.
I like Burakovsky, but don't think Washington would do that deal.

Ottawa still needs defense. Manning is a serviceable NHL D-man on a rebuilding team. 1 year deal, so isn't an issue moving forward. Melnyk also saves real money, which lets face it, is a big factor for the guy. Edmonton can add more (lower prospect/pick) but manning would have to go in this deal.
