Figured he'd been scratched so much and the irony of an Oilers draft pick

Most competitive scenario trade for Miller
Value seems there just not sure it’s the best move for the Preds. Question tho. Why wouldn’t the predators just buy out Philippe myers and use the cap space for themselves? Resign forsberg and you get an extra like 600k to play with which isn’t much but can tip the scales. Like unless someone offers me a second I’d think the cap space is more important?

Don’t think Fleury returns home and what does he like so much about Marino and Kapanen? Also might have to add conditional picks for an extension or something but not sure

Seems like it is the rumour of the week
Personally I don't like the Anderson fit for the Oilers. I think there is a fit and the way they Oilers are structuring contracts lately I'd say we hae 3-5 years to contend before cap hell leaves us as a playoff team and nothing more or retool/rebuild. I think Kane fits better for the Oilers however that being said I don't think Kane will return and don't think the Oilers should force it. In this scenario here is my alternate proposal since I can absolutely see the Oilers trading for Anderson. In the event JP is traded. Anderson, 2022 2nd, better prospect - 1st 2022, Holloway, Foegle, Barrie as I think Kassians welcome in MTL isnt there. Not that I love this deal can just see the Oilers doing it

Saw oilers trade in the trade machine
Yknow at first I thought this was dumb for both sides. But the Canes if they can't keep Deangelo Barrie would be a great replacement and JP would be nice. Overall I like it for Canes. Oilers Idk enough about Necas to have an opinion, Froom what I've seen just in playoffs and when they play the Oilers he has potential but doesn't seem great defensively and isn't physical two things JP does provide. Well not physicality but feel like theres more potential for JP to be physical

I think Calgary is gonna have to choose between Andrew and Johnny. Though that could be the Oilers fan in me. That or move Dube, Mon and Lucic

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>The issue with LTIR that a lot of people don't understand is that if you're a capped out team with LTIR, you typically don't have room for bonus overages. For instance, the Oilers overages for next year are $896 k, which means that your actual salary cap isn't $82.5, it's actually $81.6.
There's something like 14 teams this year that are going to have issues with it, most notably the Canucks who are at $1.25 mil (I think the Halak bonus was the issue?)</div></div>
So wouldn't it make more sense then to keep Klefboom and put him on LTIR that way they would get more money back?

What would you say is fair. Personally I doubt he wins it but I saw someone say a first a second and Kassian for that would be fair. Without Kahkonen. Which in this scenario probably makes sense as Oilers would have cap space to target a more proven goaltender

Dropping him would also depend on if/how much of his contract is insured...The actual money owed is almost double what the Sabres have in Bishop.</div></div>
Yea could be any team. Idk enough about how ltir works but I don’t understand why oilers can’t just leave him there

I mean I don’t disagree with any of your ideas. I don’t really cares if Keith retires tbh the extra cap would be great but feel like the NHL would block it. I like Kulak but also like Keith. Indifferent to who’s that 2LD. Kane I’m pretty sure is the rental he was brought in as and anything more Is a pipe dream. Solid team tho

I think the thing is ppl keep saying that they’ll offer sheet JP. That’s fine. One I think the Oilers match. If not they trade him before that to a team who can match. Or 3 pull a Carolina day you want JP fine we’re taking your best RFA

Moves To Make If Keith And Smith Retire
Honestly solid roster and as much as I like Keith for kulak money wise ya hope Keith retires. Great career though. Only thing I would say is don’t trade foegle. Now you’re paying more for Aston-Reese and I’d say foegle is the better player. I think you have to choose though between smith and kane don’t think you can have both

Also I keep seeing foegle get dealt for a fourth foegle value is very low right now. Keep him give him the top6 opportunity he wanted which is why Carolina traded him. If you’re gonna trade him after one year you need to trade him for what you cause bear at. I’d say either player should be a third

To much tinkering. Just run it back. Kane gone unfortunately so let Holloway fill in, Kulak back if Ceci is gone, ship out Barrie and Kassian for mid to late round pick
